Yeah, sure. They'd just go get her bag and head home to make brunch. He didn't have to kiss her, it was just--
He turned, pulled her to him again, and locked lips without permission. He needed to. He had a lot of time to make up for. One hand moved to her cheek and the other to her lower back. It was a kiss full of need and passion, romantic but not sexual.

Toby was rewarded with a kiss in return, albeit an inexperienced one. The selkie had been surprised--pleasantly surprised, by the move. She wrapped her arms around his neck.

Toby noticed the sort of innocence in the returned kiss, but it didn't matter. In fact it seemed to disappear entirely as the kiss continued, maybe that was just his own bias. His arms found their way around Maia's waist and he was entirely unaware of the curious passers-by watching their romantic reunion. Wen the kiss broke he remained close, nose-to-nose, eyes hooded, and he gave her one last smooch as if he hadn't had enough.

Well. That seemed to answer Maia's question concerning whether they were dating. She gave him another quick kiss, pausing to look around. "People are staring," She observed. Speaking of people staring, Dari didn't seem to be present.
"Are you ready?" she asked, smiling at him. Was Dari at home, then? She led him to the baggage claim area.

Toby smiled and nodded. There. With the urge sated he felt a little less crazed and he took Maia's carry-on from her and offered her his other hand to hold. He knew where the baggage claim was simply because he flew out of here so often. It took a little doing to find her particular claim but even Toby recognized her bags. He tried his best to get to them before Maia did.
"Dari decided to go to work today, so it's just us."

Toby reached her bags before she did. She hated making him carry everything. She reached for her carry on. "You weren't too angry with him, were you?" she asked. She couldn't manage to frown, though, she was so happy. Why would Dari decide to go work when he knew she'd be coming home--oh.
So they'd be alone.
"Well, we have plenty of time to talk then," Maia smiled at him.

Toby smiled and shook his head.
"No. Of course not." A little, but as Dari has insisted to him over and over, it had worked. The end justified the means. It had been devious and sneaky, but how could he stay mad when Maia was coming home?
"Yes. We have all the time in the world."
Considering his car's trunk space, Toby had hired a driver to bring them home. As they waited, he couldn't help but keep grinning. "I don't know what any of this means."

"Good," Maia smiled at him. She was glad a fight hadn't happened.
She paused at that, and looked at him. "I think it means we get to be happy," She said. "I want to take you to the lake this weekend. It can be a date if you like. Or maybe we should go out to dinner first?"

Selkie love was still a possibility, but Toby had decided that he was willing to risk it for his own happiness. It was better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all, so on and so forth. Certainly he hadn't felt this way about a woman in nearly 40 years.
"Are we dating?" he asked, still smirking, "Are we starting back at the beginning?" Because, to be honest, they had been acting like a couple for far longer than he'd been able to admit.

Maia considered the question. "I think so," She said. "I think we have been for a while, but we didn't notice. Not until we were apart." It'd been awful. "Do we have to?" she complained. "It'd be hard redoing everything we've done." Starting over, bleh.
"Lets talk at home about it," she smiled at him. "Dari won't be home till evening, we have time."

Toby shook his head. "I was hoping you'd say that." He wanted to step up behind her and hold her. He wanted to kiss her ears and feel her belly, but none of that here. Not in public. He didn't want to embarrass anyone.
The van drove up and Toby took this moment to step down off of the curb and start loading up Maia's luggage. "Of course. We can talk about whatever we want."

So... What did a dating couple do, exactly? What they'd always done? So nothing had changed really, apart from the kissing. And maybe more? "Are you ready to cook, or should we stop by the store?" She asked. "I'm out of practice, really." She hadn't made anything while in Oregon.

"Honestly, I kind of slept in," Toby admitted, "I think we have what we need for biscuits and gravy at least. We might have to go shopping later. I haven't been cooking much." They were loaded up and Toby opened the back door for Maia to get in while the cabbie returned to the driver's seat. "We're headed home first either way."

"Me either. I'm tired of Chinese food," she grinned at him, taking her seat. "I was too excited to sleep much," she admitted. "I think tomorrow I'll go back to classes. Visit Seamus," she smirked at him. "Is he still being mean to you?"

Toby climbed in beside her an nodded.
"I don't think he likes me much any more, but hopefully having you back will change that. Apparently there was this whole conspiracy against me...or for me? Either way, somehow I think the cat found out. Everyone'll be happy to see you." But he didn't want to go to work again. He wanted to spend the rest of the week with Maia, just Maia. As the driver began off, he wrapped an arm around Maia's shoulders and fought against the urge to kiss her again.
