Bridget turned to the sound of familiar footsteps and arched one eyebrow, "Captain Vectra, what's happened this time?" She asked, approaching the disheveled man while shaking her head.

"I'm sorry, but I can't help you there," Guan said, sipping his tea without taking his eyes off the box.

"Oh for the love of the Goddess! I stumble out of the bloody forest in the middle of nowhere, and who do I find in the nearest bar? My favorite pupil of piracy." James took of his still filthy hat and dipped into a deep bow.

He walked over to a bar stool and sat down. The look of relief on his face was impossible to miss, as though he hadn't sat in days.

Bridget snapped her fingers, "Not to worry. I'll wait." She assured Guan with a small smile. She looked to James and burst out laughing, "You still haven't answered me, Captaaaain." she purred in a sing-song voice.

Guan nodded, still staring intently at the box. He was pretty sure he knew the trick to opening it, but now it was just a question of whether or not he wanted to open it when there were others around.

The man who walked along the well-beaten path towards the entrance the The Demented Muffin was, to say the least, a bit unorthodox in appearance. This was not entirely true, but when put in comparison to most inhabitants of the Muffin, Daniel Robles was not one of them. His straight-cut, I-mean-business black slacks fit nicely, like any young adult's would. The dress shirt he wore, usually crisp and clean, was only slightly ruffled, and unbuttoned a few times at the top. The red tie around his collar was pulled loose to some degree, but still hung comfortably down his chest. Finished off with a dark-brown trench, the man was indeed, very clean cut.

As he stepped up to pull open the door in front of him, the leather of his shoe squeaked. Again, not an unusual squeak, but, one that his ears had grown to tune out. Ah, his ears. They were very sensitive, and noticed more things than most people's did. Daniel's clean brown hair was long. Not as long as a woman would consider hers to be, but, long for a mans. It was long enough to reach his shoulderblades, and sway and adjust with every step he took. His gloved hand wrapped around the handle, and with an inhale of the warm evening air, he pulled it open.

Pleasantly cool air welcomed Daniel inside, as he stepped into the main room of the inn. Instantly, he slipped out of his leather dress shoes, and set them next to the door, underneath the coat rack. He had been taught that this was polite, and showed respect. Personally, Daniel liked socked, or barefeet over shoes. While he shrugged his jacket off of his shoulders, his calm chocolate eyes scanned the room.

With a small smile, he dug into his pocket for a small square container. His fingers could feel it, and he fumbled for a second, before retrieving it, and setting it atop the bar. Taking a seat next to this small container, he scratched his neck, and pondered what he'd like to drink. Slender, careful fingers unsnapped the container, and dumped out a small square of blue Post-it notes. Daniel put the container back in his pocket, and looked up and down the bar for any sign of life.

Bridget turned again to the sound of someone else entering and smiled at the man before her. "Good evening, sir." she greeted before turning her attention back to James.

James sighed. "You're smarter than I remember you..."

He reached over the counter slowly because it hurt and filled a glass with water from the sink. He sat back down and began to sip it slowly.

"It's really not much of a story, actually. I landed in port a few days ago (totally legally this time even) and apparently my reputation precedes me. A few officers of the law were waiting for me in the market when we went to buy provisions. I was separated from the crewmen I had with me and I ran into the forest to evade capture. The crew has standing orders in cases like this to set sail ASAP for the nearest port north where I'll either meet them or send word with further instructions. I've been a little lost the last day or so since I don't know this country, but I managed to find this bar."

Daniel's kind face simply offered the greeting a warm smile, and a small wave. It was easier than handing the woman a sticky-note, and furthermore, confusing her. He returned to looking forward, and spotted the man that someone had apparently ordered a drink from. Using a hand to try to beckon the man down, a legible black almost cursive-y handwriting was appearing on the pad of notes in front of him. As he looked down at the paper, he shook his head in dissapproval.

No, no.. Aren't you listening? Thought the man, as the words appeared on the new, fresh, neon-blue sheet of paper. As he crumpled up both of the sheets of useless paper, they seemingly dissapeared into nothingness, and the stack of paper seemed to get a bit thicker. To one who was watching, they'd simply describe it as magically never-ending bottomless post-its.

Trying yet again, Daniel thought of the brief greeting, and drink that he wanted. Instead of scrambling them up again, it came out the right way, and he picked it up, reading it over a few times in his hands. When the man would approach, he'd hand him the paper, simply reading: "Evening, sir. Could you please make me an Old-Fashioned Southern Comfort Sweet with cherries?

James greeted the new man with a nod of his head.
"That's an interesting pad of paper you've got there. Don't think I've ever seen one quite like it." he said, eager to get the story of his dirtiness off the topic.

Bridget helped herself to a small chuckle and patted her mentor's shoulder, "You're that famous, eh?" She asked with a light hint of envy to her voice.

Tomo nearly let himself roll down the stairs. He looked like he just woke up after a nap in a running clothes dryer. He tripped over himself and braced his weight in the stairwell, looking around the bar as if it were suddenly filled with paparazzi and various other flashy noisy things. "We have new customers?" He asked the air. He stood up strait, flattened his hair, and stumbled over to the bar. "Can I get anyone anything?"

Crap. Thought Daniel, without really trying to write it. Then again, he of all people should've remembered that the spell made all thoughts apepar on the pad. Looking down, he crumpled up the scrap piece, and looked back to the man. Why did people have to address him from afar? It only made things complicated and confusing for all parties involved.

Still waiting for the barkeep to come and take his request for an alcoholic beverage, he simply turned to face the man who seemed a pirate. In response to his comment, Daniel offered a nod, and a bright smile. Yet again, he faced forward, and hoped that the conversation would not press on. One who could speak, and one who was mute, did not always quite get the same satisfaction out of a conversation.

Looking to see who had entered the room with an energetic sort of personality, Daniel sighed. It was hopeless! He'd never get along like this. HOlding up the paper with his drink request, he waved it next to his head, trying to get the blonde's attention. He'd have done so over his head, if if wouldnt' seem quite so incredibly rude.

Tomo stopped and pivoted on his heal to read the post-it note, kind of swinging around like the scare crow from the Wizard of Oz. Part man, part cat, part slinky. Tomo was having a weird body day to say the least. "Right! I'll get that for you, sir." He said, repeating 'Old-Fashioned Southern Comfort Sweet with cherries' in his head over and over until... "You wouldn't happen to know what that is, would you?" He shook his head, "Of course you know what that is. Is it like an iced tea? You can just nod or shake your head."

Daniel shook his head, with a small laughing motion of his body. A slender hand reached up to tap his chin, and upon the pad of paper, scribbled out Sprite, Jero, Sweet Rum. It was a common misunderstanding... Most bartenders did not know what these were, unless they had a younger, or sometimes older crowd. It depended on where they were from, really. It was an old traditional drink, usually meant to bring people together, with it's warm sweet flavor. One bad thing about it, was it's suprisingly strong alcohol. People usually forgot that they were drinking booze, and got totally wasted off of these.

Not Daniel, though. He had a high alcohol tolerance, and he was rarely ever 'drunk'. He may've gotten a bit tipsy off of wine a few times, but, he was a funny tipsy person, rather than emotional or irrational. Scratching his chin, he extended the note with a kind smile to the blonde bartender. Using the hand previously scratching his chin, he brushed back his hair, and smiled at the people. This must be a bit busy for the bar... The blonde didn't seem so accustomed the small crowd's numbers.

Tomo looked at the sticky note and nodded, "I understand, now." He said, walking behind the bar. He gathered said ingredients and combined them into the drink he spoke of. "See if this tastes all right." Tomo said, setting the glass on the bartop.
