Anthony gave a small sigh of relief. He really wanted to get this done and over with. The fun wasn't supposed to end with the prank after all. He turned to give Dylan a wink, then turned to look at both the girl and the boy with a strong smile back on his face. "All right! Once you two get bandaged up, we want a duel. After all, we didn't catch you guys with our trap for just kicks and giggles. 6 vs. 6, team battle, no switching, no non-held items. You guys accept the challenge? I'll even let you change the rules since we were so rude." A similar smirk played on Anthony's face as he imagined beating these two hands-down, but it disappeared when he felt his belt and noticed he didn't have his Pokemon with him. He had left them by the tree. "Er... hang on a sec..." he stuttered, jogging over to retrieve his companions.

"Thanks," Kasiya mumbled somewhat gratefully, catching the small box which sported the trademark red '+' on the top of if. She found a nice patch of grass to sit down in, and quickly went about cleaning and bandaging her wounds, all the while listening to the brown-haired boy's challenge for battle. So that's what they wanted... a full-out battle, she thought, winching from the sting antiseptic. Normally I'd have no problems with that, but I don't know much about Leviathan's abilities yet... Other than that cool Ice Ball she can do. She sighed, and applied the last bandage to her elbow with little difficulty after waving off any of Keegan's attempts to help. She already looked bad enough thanks to these two boys; even though Keegan was just trying to help, she really needed to show them she could stand on her own two legs. After all, she held six of Kanto's official Gym Badges, and she was sure that each leader she had defeated wouldn't appreciate her losing to a couple of kids who had to knock trainers off of their bikes just so they could challenge them. Besides, she knew her Pokemon could handle it, and she would ask Levi what she thought before sending her into the fray.
"A battle is fine," she nodded, carefully returning the contents of the first aid kit and handed it to Keegan in case he wanted to try and patch up his hand. She was quite thankful that the bandages were the adhesive type that were pretty much the same colour as human flesh, so they didn't stand out as much. "I did, however, just receive a Pokemon from a friend of mine, and I haven't had the chance to really study up on its stats and abilities yet. So if you boys would be so kind as to grant me a few moments to look in my PokeDex?" She smiled sweetly at the two of them, giving them the same look that had won her favor over each of her guy friends at least once before. She returned to her patch of grass and pulled the PokeDex from her vest pocket, glad the thing hadn't flew out and smashed into a million pieces. The telltale lump of her PokeNav in her other pocket was reassuring too; as she didn't want to have to explain to her mother that she needed a new one, and those things weren't cheap. She slid open the slender, red device and quickly searched for the entry dedicated to Mudkip, knowing this wouldn't take too long, and that she'd have Levi's attacks committed to memory within a few moments.

"Just like a roaring train, I'm just a locamotive machiiiiiine!" Sung out a familiar voice, our little heroine Sasha. Ms. Jennings' overbearing personality carried through in her rather, boistrus 'serenade'. She wasn't bad, just loud. "Ah!" The pink haired girl let out a happy sigh, a gigantic smile plastered on her face. "This Gym stuff isn't too hard now is it Prickles?" Sasha looked down to her traveling companion, a rather distracted Cacnea. He sputtered a bit in place before nodding and going back to his twitchy movements. "You're so weird sometimes." Said the girl, rolling her eyes. She liked Prickles, but there were moments where she wished for a more...normal Pokemon. Kitsune her Ninetales, Lightbulb her Lanturn, and Granite her Graveler had no such problems. Sure, they had their quirks as any Pokemon, and even person, have, but they still managed to keep it to themselves at times and not when battle was the main focus. Prickles however, lead to many close calls, far too many. Sasha shrugged, thinking internally about how this had to be nothing more than a phase. At least, she hoped it was.
"Well, at least Lilycove will be something to enjoy." She had planned on visiting there for an extreme case of much needed shopping. After all, her pockets were getting a bit full after her victory over Norman. Ms. Jennings closed her eyes, remembering the battle as a chill or excitement ran up her spine. Granite was magnificent, repelling nearly all of the Gym Leader's Normal type Pokemon, and dishing out one heavy hit after another. As she snapped out of her daydream, the girl took note of a small wooden sign in front of her. "Route 121" it read. Sasha placed her hands on her hips, the wind kicking up and tossing her hair about.
"Yeah, this Gym stuff ain't too bad."

All this just to challenge us to battle...? Keegan thought, frowning. He should have known what they had wanted right from the get-go. He'd bent down to see if Kasiya needed help with the bandages, but apparently he wasn't needed. "If it's fine with her," he said, nodding towards Kasiya. She gave the affirmative, and he took the kit from her, studying his scraped hand for a moment or two. It wasn't really bad enough to need anything more than a few days or so to heal. Six on six, eh? I'd better be careful with Mori... there's no telling what kind of Pokemon they have and I'm not going to let them hurt her just for the sheer joy of it. He found himself glaring at the two boys again, and he adverted his gaze, deciding instead to study the horizon. The twinkle of the ocean in the distance was somewhat calming, and he quickly turned his gaze once more in order to avoid losing the anger he was feeling. A battle would be just what they needed to put these children in their place, and he clenched his good fist tightly, an inward smile already growing. It seemed their late-afternoon training would come in the form of an all-out team battle instead of what they'd had planned.
He peered over Kasiya's shoulder as she read the Mudkip entry in her PokeDex, realizing she hadn't had any time to do any practice training with the new addition to her team at all. She didn't seem to be too worried though; it wasn't like Kasiya would leave poor Levi on the battlefield if things were going poorly.

Nina's head was throbbing as though an earthquake was ravaging it. With a final sniffle or two she stood, only to lose balance and be caught by Whitney, whom subsequently supported her for the time being. "I don't even know what to do," the girl croaked out, her voice terribly raspy from the screaming. "Where do I... go, Whitney?" The girl mulled the question over for a moment, almost feeling as if her answer would impact Nina's currently unstable mentality. She spoke slowly and used reasonably small words, as if she were addressing a child.
"I think... you need to rest before you do anything else at all. I will not say I know the type of pain that you feel right now, because I don't. What I can say is, it would be best for you to go find a nice, private area and lay low for some time. Rest, sleep, get back on your feet. I don't want you to leave the place once you get there, for any reason."
Nina seemed to have regained her balance as she slithered away from Whitney's support. She took a step and a half backwards. "Whitney. Do you even hear yourself? That's-- no! Anna is still out there, brainwashed and being manipulated by that scumbag of a father of mine and if I don't do something--" "Nina, no." The girl's voice was stern. "You're my sister and I love you with all of my heart, but you are too headstrong for your own good. I know you want Anna back, but there is absolutely nothing at you can do right now to achieve your wish. For once in your life, listen to what somebody else has to say and do it. Not everyone in the world is stupid, Nina; we do know what we're talking about some of the time."

Evidently, this wasn't something Nina liked to do-- take orders from people. It was with great hesitation and a long sigh that she finally agreed. "Okay. I'll lay low, if you tell me a place that I can go where Maorde won't find me. Oh, that's right!" She exclaimed. "There isn't anywhere Maorde won't look for me! Guess that plan's out the window, huh?!" In spite of her sister's snide remarks, Whitney held her composure. "Would you listen, please? Maorde has looked in towns and cities for us. He knows for a fact that you'd be in one of them, as you do not have access to the Pokemon League, even back home in Johto. While, yes, Maorde is a powerful man, so are the members of the Elite Four. If you were under their protection, there is little doubt in my mind that Maorde would go looking for a fight."
This did make sense. Nina remained quiet for a minute, easy, before she finally nodded in approval. "...Okay. I'll do it. But what about Anna?" Whitney smiled a little bit. "Have faith in me. I'll get her back for you by the time you're all better. For now, what I'll do is give a call to Lance, and get permission from him to have you stay there. I want you to hop on Krystal immediately after that, get yourself over there, and deposit all of your Pokemon into your PC Box." "What? Why should I? And how can I? Krystal's unconscious because of the fight!" Whitney fished around in her pocket for a moment, pulling out a small, diamond-shaped crystalline item; it seemed to be a Revive. She handed it to the girl. "Nina, just do it."
Turning and pulling a type of multi-functional cell phone from her pocket, Whitney dialed a number and pressed Talk, engaging in a conversation. After the conversation had ended a few minutes later, she put the phone away and signified that Nina could leave. She touched the Revive to Krystal's Pokeball and released it, mounting the Pokemon and looking over her shoulder to Whitney. She still didn't want to leave, but...
Whitney watched on as her sister took off into the sky. It'll be okay, Nina, I promise. Just leave it to me. I'll make things right again.

Dylan sighed as his partner went back to get his pokemon. That was pretty lame for him to forget them. But Anthony was always the active one who would rush in and save the baby fire pokemon sitting in a safe section of a burning building.
Dylan had already thought up the three pokemon he would be using in their battle since their opponents had accepted. No one would be able to stop their team combinations! Whahahaha, he laughed in his mind as he was once agian similing. Weird that the girl needed to check up on her pokemon however it shouldn't make any difference to the final outcome.

Kilik nodded. "Alright. That sounds fine to me. I'll see you soon, Mitsu," he clicked 'End' and put the Nav back into his pocket. He heard Nina scream from beyond the Viridian City Gym. He tensed a bit; it was all he was hearing out of her lately. His eyes cast up to the sky when he watched the Dragonair disappear beyond the horizon. He slowly walked out from behind the building, raising his eyebrow at Whitney and Mike.
"And then there were three," he said, placing his hands on his hips, "Mitsu's on her way. She wanted to see Giovanni about something. What, I'm not exactly sure about." He continued walking past them, closing his eyes, "What I am sure on, however, is that I need to heal Scizor." He kept walking, jumping over a small ledge and landing with a grunt. His hands were shaking a bit; he was anxious about fighting again. That would have to wait. He stepped through the Pokemon Center's electronic door and immediately handed over all of his Pokemon. What was the harm in getting them all checked? He turned to sit on the couches, crossing one leg over the other and closing his eyes.
"This is such a mess..." he whispered.

Mike had become somewhat lost in thought, staring off to the horizon with his arms behind his head. "This whole thing was handled rather poorly." He said to himself, feeling partly to blame. "But then again, I'm not too stupid to think I could have taken him alone." The boy sighed, wishing there could be a week, just a week where one of his friend's (especially Nina) wasn't being emotionally tortured. He could stand damsel in distress rescue missions fine, he enjoyed playing hero. There was just something about Nina that was just a magnet for problems. I wonder what it is... Mike trailed of for a bit, snapping back to reality as Nina soared off on her Dragonair. Whitney was left standing alone, and Kilik had vanished somewhere.
"Need any help girlie?" said the boy, walking over to the pink haired Gym Leader.

Whitney's mind was swirling with uncertainties as she looked down toward the dirt. Was she making a mistake? Was telling Nina to run and hide the right thing to do? Would Nina even listen to her and go back to Johto, or would she turn around halfway there? No, the girl thought, I have faith in her... Nina's a very intelligent girl. She'll realize that this is the best thing for her in order to stay safe and to recover. But of course, I can't help but to worry about her... I've no clue as to when she'll be back. With her previously damaged mentality, who knows how long it'll take for her to get better... Whitney clasped her hands over her heart, and her eyes felt a bit warm. And... they kind of felt like they were being glossed over with tears.
And then she heard someone call to her. Oh, it was Mike. Smudging the back of her hands across her eyes and sniffling quickly, she whirled around, a meek smile playing on her face. "As a matter of fact, I'd love some help," she responded to him, rather honestly. "Help me make this craziness stop. Watching Nina getting so abused like that is killing me."
It was as Whitney was awaiting a response that a familiar tune found its way into her head. Nina sang it-- albeit poorly-- every once in a while, when it was just the two of them together. Sometimes goodbye, though it hurts in your heart, is the only way for destiny. Sometimes goodbye, though it hurts, is the only way now for you and me. Though it's the hardest thing to say, I'll miss your love in every way, so say goodbye. But don't you cry, 'cause true love never dies. Heh.
Love ya, sis. Like, totally for sure one hundred percent, oh-em-jee.

As soon as Anthony reached the tree, he bent over to pick up his Pokeballs, which were all nicely sorted on the ground. Three of the six had green stickers on them, signifying the ones he was going to use with Dylan. Each sticker also had a black Greek letter written on it, so Anthony knew what contained what. One by one he clicked them to his belt, and it wasn't too long before he found goosebumps going up his arms. He was getting excited. Not very many people have been able to defeat Anthony and Dylan, which had much to do with their carefully organized strategy. In his heart, he wanted to beat these two just as badly as they usually did, but he couldn't help but also be excited by the chance that this girl and boy might have what it takes to be victorious. After all, it was through many defeats that Anthony and Dylan were able to conjure up such an awesome team, and if someone could find holes in their strategy, the better it was to fix them.
Anthony then walked back to the trail, grinning ever so slightly. "I'm Anthony, by the way, and this is my friend Dylan. Once you guys are ready, meet us over there," he said, casually pointing to a large open grassy area near some trees. And with that, Anthony motioned with his hand for Dylan to follow as they walked to the battleground. This was going to be fun.

As anticipated, it didn't take too long to study Levi's possible abilities for battle, and she closed the PokeDex as she stood up, stretching lightly to get the kinks out of her back. Chances were good that she wouldn't even have to use the young Mudkip, and that thought was a relief as she gently touched each Pokeball on her belt as she turned to Keegan. "Gotta say, this was the last thing I expected," she chuckled, tossing a glance over her shoulder as the first boy collected his Pokemon. "Let's give it our very best, okay?" She squeezed his good hand in hers for a moment, an affectionate smile passing over her lips as she admired his handsome green eyes. Then, she made her way over to the area that Anthony had pointed out, a bit surprised that he'd given them their names. Then again, they could have been fake names, but at least it was better than calling them 'boy one' and 'boy two' for the entire battle.
"I'm Kasiya, and this is Keegan," she called out, placing her hands on her hips and grinning at the two of them. "We're ready when you are!" She motioned for Keegan to join her, and she felt her heart rate pick up with anticipation. A small part of her actually wished that it was Mike by her side for this team battle; as nothing could stand in the way of them when they were working together. But Mike wasn't here, and Keegan was, and she wasn't about to let the redhead down. Let's show them that they messed with the wrong trainers, she thought, smiling at Keegan once more as she waited for the challengers to make the first move.

"See ya there Kilik," Mitsu replied before snapping the Pokenav shut and stuffing it into her bag. With everything packed and ready to go she made her way to the train station. There seemed to be a new sign by the ticket window. Apparently tickets no longer lasted forever and now were fifty Pokedollars apiece. “Should have seen that coming,” Mitsu sighed. Pulling a few bills from her bag she handed it over to the man on the other side of the window. He seemed bored and tired and Mitsu thought that he probably wished he had picked a better job.
Handing the ticket to whomever it was due to the young trainer stepped onto the train. It had been a while since she had been on one, preferring to snag a ride from someone else. The seat cushions were soft and comfortable and the window to look out from was nice. Mitsu placed her bag against her leg as she sat down. In a matter of moments the whistle blew and the train began to chug its way to Viridian.
Viridian. Ah, it had been the place she was recently where she somehow miraculously found her brother and many new facts about her life that she had never known before. Things like that she was adopted and she had these weird powers. Which apparently, as the rumors had stated, Giovanni had as well. She sighed looking down at her hands. They seemed a bit paler and a faint green glow could almost be seen if one looked close enough. It bothered her and she wished the train would make it there faster.

"Stop that Zubat, Daemyn!" Mary-Anne called out as hastily as she could, foreseeing what the Zubat twin was looking to do. Her abilities in battles, although still somewhat shaky, were undoubtedly growing better -- almost subconsciously, she could hear Ky's voice from earlier saying that Flying-type moves had the advantage over Pokemon like Sting, the Bug-types. And Wing Attack sure sounded flying-like. One plus one equaled two, or eleven for the smart alecks; in other words, if possible, Sting oughta avoid those things.
The canine bounded into action like a coiled spring; the Houndour had also grown immensely. A week ago, he would not have been able to react quite as intensely or quickly, even with the fury that boiled through his taut muscles (Daemyn here was really one to hold a grudge). With little hesitation, he clamped his jaws down as flames began to leak out before succumbing to the small fireball and letting it loose in the Zubat's path, just in front of Sting. The pup gave a wolfish, confident grin. Thanks to his spars with Ulani, he'd learned how to deal with flying foes -- no way this Zubat could be more unpredictable than a playful, high-spirited Ulani! "What a pesk that mutt is! Jeeeez. Noctowl, if Zubat's not gunna be able to do the job, follow up with a Peck!" The bird, originally standing with its head cocked to one side, suddenly opened its wide wings and took flight with ease. With amazingly quiet stealth, the Noctowl stole up behind its partner, practically using Zubat as a shield of Daemyn's Ember before dashing in for Sting. They're picking on Sting's weakness! M.A. thought, her lips pulling down in a frown.

Having been focusing all of its attention on Sting, the twin's Zubat had no chance to avoid Daemyn's fireball, and instead took a direct hit, leading to a severe burn on its right wing. Unable to stand the pain, the Zubat shot off of its attack path and returned near his trainer to await his next command.
Sting of course had the sense to fly backwards when the fireball came, but it didn't prepare him for the Noctowl's follow-up attack. The Peck dug deep into Sting's shoulder, and though it wasn't as devastating as a Wing Attack, it did leave Sting in a lot of pain.
"Sting, don't let it get away! Fury Attack!" Ky yelled as he watched the Noctowl fly off after the attack. Shaking off the damage, Sting obeyed and flew with amazing agility after the large bird. Once he came into range, he let his forearms fly, attempting to land at most five jabs, but not losing his focus to aim for the vital spots.
Meanwhile, the Zubat twin looked concerned as his Pokemon yelped with every flap of its burned wing, but also looked towards M.A. with pure competitive malice. "Zubat, attack that dog with Supersonic!" he commanded with a grin. After another pain-filled screech, the Zubat let off a volley of supersonic waves, hoping to confuse the Houndour.
