"Lets do that one then," What she wouldn't do to get on that earlier flight. "I wish I could teleport. I wouldn't even need an airplane. I could just be there." With him. "I'll pack some clothes and stuff. Oooh, we could cook something. Biscuits and gravy? Have a bit of a brunch."

"Teleportation is pretty risky business. I'd rather you fly." Toby laughed slightly again.
"Yeah, just get some clothes and your toiletries and we'll send someone to get the rest packed up and shipped." A little typing, another click. "Sure. Whatever you want." He snuffled. "Okay. I'm gonna get an email with a confirmation code. When you get there, go to the desk or the kiosk and enter that code and you'll be able to print your ticket. I'm going to do it all under your name." Now a flurry of typing and a retreat to grab his wallet and type in his card number.
"If anyone gives you trouble, call me and we'll get the Bureau to smooth things out." It was kind of what they did on a regular basis. Entities often needed a little more help than their human peers.
He hit "Enter".
"I can't believe this is happening."

"Okay. I have presents for you and Dari, I'll bring those too. She had something for Seamus as well." She stood, still holding The phone and took her bag out from a drawer. It was still mostly packed. She stuffed a few more things into it, a sundress, two shell necklaces and something that looked like a night light.
She nodded. "Okay, I use the code to get my ticket and then--" she smiled at him. "Then I get to see you!" She paused, and then added, "Dari told me I'd get to come back. But I didn't believe him. Mostly." She'd believed him enough to make sure she had her things ready, though.

"He did, did he?" Toby arched a brow, but was watching the screen for the e-mail. Had Dari been trying to get her back since she had left? Had he been plotting against and thus entirely for his partner? "I'll have to talk to him."
The alert popped up and Toby refreshed.
"Okay, do you have something to write this down on?"

"Yeah. It was his idea. Lori's been keeping me busy with lessons still, and I skyped Seamus. I got him a present too. I can't bring any real fish for him. Hey! Don't be mad at Dari, he was helping."
Maia pulled up her notepad app, looking to Toby expectantly. "Ready," She said.

His idea? Toby looked questioningly to the phone and then decided it didn't matter. He'd talk to him later, or probably sooner actually. It wasn't as if the man slept, or that he'd be getting much sleep himself for the next hour or so.
He shook his head and smiled, then read back the confirmation number to Maia and included his e-mail and social security number, just in case someone got especially suspicious of the blonde girl without a credit card.
"You've got it?"

"Got it," Maia smiled. "I hate airplanes, but this is one I actually want to get on." She looked at the clock. Five am. Bleh. Who cared? She was too excited to sleep. "Do you think we can stay home today? It'd be nice just to talk." To be together.

Today? Ah, right! Four in the morning. He had eight hours to go pick up Maia, and some of them should probably include sleep.
"Sure. I can use a sick day." Then it was just one more day before the weekend. Everyone would want to see her at the office, Seamus especially. The damn cat hadn't been right since she'd left.
"For now, though, I think we both need some sleep." he touched the back side of his hand to his nose and snuffled one more time. "I'm going to go find the jellyfish, alright? I'll see you soon."
He still couldn't believe this was happening. He had just admitted feelings to a woman, real feelings, and she was hopping on a plane to return to him. This only happened in moves. It was terrifying, wholly and truly, but also a bit exciting.

"Alright. Goodnight," Maia said, stifling a yawn. "Don't be too hard on Dari." She planned to reward the alien with marshmallows for the rest of his life. "See you soon!"
The call ended. Maia made sure her pelt was in her bag and stuffed a few more dresses into it. She didn't think she could sleep. She was going home!

The call ended.
"Dari!" Toby yelled. It was habit. Most people heard differences in volume more drastically than his roommate. The alien was already there in the doorway, leaning against the frame, smirking.
"Well it worked, didn't it?" he asked.
Toby immediately stood, dove around the table, and lunged for Dari's midsection, knowing the fall would be well-cushioned.

Maia hated airplanes; she'd discovered that the very first time she'd been on one. The third time was no better, but this time she had a better reason to want to get off quickly. Toby. She was almost home, she thought with a smile as she went down the hall into the terminal.
She was jittery with excitement; the pure joy of being where she belonged. Months ago, she wouldn't have thought it was possible. But she'd fallen for Toby, and then Arizona not long after. She couldn't wait to see him!
She looked around the terminal. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to be here for a long while.

Initially the guards at the gate had denied Toby entry. He had thought ahead and worn some decent business clothes, then gave the guard his best emotionless cop-face and flashed his badge. Technically it was against the rules to use your badge for such things but who was ever going to know? He searched the LED boards for Maia's terminal and waked there as calmly as possible. A few people were already there, waiting for the next flight, but he ignored them. People began to pour from the hallway leading from the plane and he just... waited. A head of blonde hair was recognizably not the selkie he was looking for, but he spotted her freckled face and a grin spread across his lips.
What did all of this mean? Was he in a relationship now? Were they going to try? He hadn't been in love in such a long time he wasn't even sure what to do with himself.

Maia spotted Toby not long after. She shoved her way through people in an impatient sort of way, and once she reached him she wrapped her arms tightly around him. "I've missed you!" She gave no sign that she was going to let go of Toby any time soon.
What would they do now? Did it matter? They were together. She studied him for a moment, reaching up to stroke his cheek. "I've missed seeing that smile."

Toby threw his arms around Maia and held her tightly, closing his eyes. God, it felt so good to hold her. He nestled his chin in the crook of her neck and pulled her even closer. When the hug broke he was in fact grinning and he leaned up to kiss her forehead. His hand stroked her back.
"I've missed you." He wanted so badly to kiss her.

Maia didn't let go of Toby entirely. Instead, she gave him another hug. "Well, I'm not leaving again. Oregon's a miserable place." She smiled at him. Any place was without the right people there. "Lets go get my bag and we can go home," She suggested. They had some catching up to do--and some other things. Maia didn't want to release her hold on Toby.
She did, but immediately took hold of his hand. "Brunch, right?"
