Scalar Warfare Oh.... I see. He's wielding the sword with both hands. Is this a longsword? s**t, I'm failing Reading Comprehension 101 here, embarrassing. Essentially? I could use generic terms for swords but most of the time for the people who are really gung-ho about it they tend to go with whatever their favorite interpretation of whatever that term is... or start nitpicking about the minuscule curvature or whatever differences between nordic and gemranic and turkish and etc. style blades. My character is a trained swordsman, I am not. I'm not going to throw around the specific names for stances and maneuvers during this, unless I can look it up quickly in the middle of typing. This is literally everything I have describing that weapon: Quote: Justice Blade: This hand-and-a-half sword has a straight, double-edged steel blade roughly 36" in length and a 9" hilt with a brass cross-guard. There are a few chips and blemishes in the blade and even more across the top of the guard, showing that it is not entirely ornamental nor is it indestructible. The scabbard is made of wood and reinforced with steel bracing at the tip and the neck, and is durable enough to stand up to a good deal of abuse. The blade should be roughly as long as yours (yours is 33 inches total, yes?) with a slightly longer handle due to the hand-and-a-half design and since it's not intended to be a rapier it would be thicker and heavier. Since I based the design off of generalized terms and not a specific model of weapon the best I can give you is... yes? Technically it's modeled as a b*****d sword which, as wikipedia tells me, is a halfway point between a short sword and a long (two handed) sword. Again, not one of those guys that goes out and looks up a (example) Ming dynasty Chinese cavalry saber and then transcribes every detail of its design into my character profile. This is a generic fantasy knight's sword.

A well written swordfight should be about positioning, timing, and a little bit of feinting (with a lot a bit of footwork). I'm not gonna pretend that your character just walked into a bad move because you misread obvious armor or I changed my stance before you got in range to attack. That would just be straight disrespectful.

Oh, and, legitimately I'm only able to guestimate as to the value of armor realistically. I know that generally plate-type armor has weak areas at the joints but it's also usually worn with chain underneath for this reason. Please let me know immediately if you have any issues regarding the armor my character is wearing (and yes, he is wearing armor under his jacket as well) and how effective it should be.

I don't know I might I'm still feeling a bit down though. I got all into it to be an ant running from the bottom of a boot. I really don't like being put in a situation where I essentially can't do anything to an opponent. That is just a depressing thing to try and write out I'm not sure if you follow me on this or not? Besides when does it even start? The next round has already started hun. I am terrible with quoting but the threads are up and Jay is...mostly human so it should be a pretty fair match? It is up to you really. Besides we can have contact the whole way through so if we aren't sure about what each of us is doing icly we can clarify it through the pm system. smile Edit: Ah just saw Slash's post. Slash Zinrai Given his previous encounter with Tres, he hardly expected the attack to connect as intended; Funfact: Astral Mirror's ability to grow crystal out from the flesh is least effective against blunt force trauma, with it being brittle as s**t. A kick to the abdomen, such as the one coming for Samayou would still mostly go through that defense. He couldn't manifest a external shield because he can't manifest constructs that he isn't touching when the opponent is five or less feet away. I would have to check it or otherwise block it, just like everyone else. Dat balance son. I'm enjoying this fight between Erik and Sam's kid, its interesting.

I'm not gonna cheat someone out of their legitimate placement. No you guys have your fun now you already started. I've kinda been stressed in real and the little happenings on here are just making it worse so I don't want to blow up and go all mad on people at this point. Besides my character as far as I can tell is the only real human so I'm just going to leave it at I was not given the right impression of what I was walking into and definately didn't enter a competitive character that can actually fight people who can throw air based grenades that travel faster than most humans can even see. I still will say one thing I find it funny some of the weapons and attacks I've seen in here how big and powerful they are but why was everyone mad at Galaxy when he nerfed a gun to a weaker state and entered that when half the stuff here is far deadlier.. oh well I guess I just won't understand for now. I'm too tired and grumpy so sorry.

It's more to the effect of Eric, as a character, utilizing what he's seen/experienced. I, as a writer, don't have an opinion on the matter; as, in order for our fight to go the way it did, I had to allow some things to go uncontested. Regardless, I think we can both agree that our "grades" had almost nothing to do with the events of our battle. wink

You have potential and skill. If you just want to b***h and moan than you'll have tough luck in here. Not to mention if you defeat yourself about a character which you have totally incorrect perceptions. I told you I'd help you.

It's one thing to admit something is flawed, and then actually bother to fix it via outside input,,, And another entirely to literally BE the walking, talking example of a bad character...and just blithely ignore it.
