Kilik feverishly stood up when she just about collapsed in the cafe. "Mitsu!" he said, stepping forward. Even Cable had been taken aback, dropping his apple to the floor. It rolled and rolled until eventually stopping at the wall. The Electric-type's eyes followed Mitsu as she broke out of the room. Kilik couldn't exactly follow her in this state, since he wasn't exactly the most mobile of persons. The boy walked slowly out of the room, stepping out into the hallway. "Mitsu!" he called out again. He heard a door slam to his left and limped down in that direction. It'll be okay, Mitsu... he thought. That heroic characteristic that Mike had rubbed off on him was coming through again.
When he reached the last shut door in the hallway, he had a hunch that Mitsu was behind it. This hunch was helped by the fact there were about four people peering through their own rooms at it. He attempted to open the door and when it didn't budge, Kilik placed his hand on the door. "C'mon, Mitsu," he whispered, "Open up. I'll help you, but first you need to open this door." His fingers closed tightly and his shaking fist was now set on the door. He gulped. "You're okay. You'll be okay..." Cable stepped out of the cafe and moved slowly down the hall towards Kilik, a questionable look on his face. Humans were so strange. What was the matter with that girl? He was pretty sure his master hadn't said anything wrong or made any sudden movements. Why did Mitsu run off like that?
=*=
Now Mazarin was outside, dancing in the street. He couldn't believe just how awesome he was. He took a deep breath of the sweet Saffron air. How sweet victory was. He preened outside the asylum. And soon, he would get his sweet, sweet pay. Delicious money. If he could sing well, he would.

The star shaped bolts of energy sailed through the air at amazing speeds, and despite Zeus's best efforts do dodge them they all found their mark with ease. The Magnemite spun around wildly at first, but appeared to regain stability and got back to the battle with no signs of damage. "Heh heh, not bad old man but a move like that won't hurt old iron sides here. Alright Zeus, let's get rid of all that extra energy you've got in one shot. Show this old man your best Thundershock!" Zues's one eye half closed in a manner that almost made him look angry, sparks shooting from his magnets as a light blue current gathered at the screw on his head. The current traveled down to his own magnet arms and amplified when they gathered aroudn the ones that he had slapped on for the power boost. Ironic that they were the very thing causing the problem to begin with, but that didn't matter. Zeus fired out a powerful bolt of electricity that slammed into the little Electrike. The sparks stopped as Zeus's energy levels returned to normal equilibrium. "How's that gramps? Not bad for a rookie eh?" Jason proceeded to snicker, not noticing the calm smile on the daycare man's face.
"Heh heh heh, look again sonny." Electrike had indeed winced from the sudden burst of electrical energy, but when the attack had passed the lightning dog still appeared to grin as the energy was stored in his fur. "Ok little one, give them a Discharge now!" Electrike nodded as he gathered all the energy stored in his fur, gnarling his teeth and growling as a big static filled aura over took him. His body sent little jolts of electricity every few seconds until he released the powerful wave of energy that overtook everything on the battle field.
"Woh, the heck!?" Jason dove for cover while Zeus stood his ground taking the attack head on. The flash of light the Discharge created was very bright and washed over Zeus, causing him to spin out of control and fall to the ground. It was an attack that Jason had never seen before or even heard of, and it was strong enough put the hurt on the Steel Electric type. "Wow, that's some attack. You alright buddy?" Zeus responded with a faint cry, but was up in the air again soon. Left over electrical energy jumped over his body, but it soon passed. "Good...Hey, take a look at Electrike...he's all tuckered out. Guess he's still to young for that move. Ok Zeus, its time for old iron sides to put it to use, tackle!" Zues's flight pattern was weak and wobbly, that last attack nearly took him out, but this Electrike really was very young still, he lost to much power in that wide spread attack. Zeus picked up speed rapidly and was on a one way track to collide with Electrike.
"Now now, no need for that." The daycare man recalled Electrike, who was breathing heavily and seemed intent on taking the tackle, to his pokeball and smiled. Zeus nearly hit the ground and spun around wildly as he pulled up to avoid hitting the ground. "Alright alright you win. Let's get you two rested up before you go, the little lady's already got your prize ready." The old man grinned, seeing the confused look on Jason's face. "We had faith in you." With that, he was already in his way back into the house. Jason followed closely behind.

((Works for me......meals are boring to RP!!!)) Riza thought she saw a glint of gold when Keegan emptied the pockets of his old pants, and as much as she wanted to ask him about them she noticed that he seemed to be pretty angry about something, probably the large hole he'd just discovered in the old pants, and she decided now probably wasn't the best time for it. "If it makes you feel better, I didn't notice the hole until just now," she offered, giving him a gentle nudge. "Though I am kinda sorry that I missed it."
There was more idle chitchat between them as they found somewhere to have lunch, which in itself was uneventful. Once they were outside again, Riza stopped, absentmindedly chewing a bit on her thumbnail. Now that lunch had come and gone, she really didn't know what to do now. "So what now?" she asked, poking at the pokeballs on her belt. Normally she wouldn't have minded just going off on her own, but strangely enough she didn't want to be alone. Maybe it was being in this strange new region and not knowing anything about it, or maybe she actually found herself wanting friends. Either way, she was too proud to admit it to anyone but herself.

Fire, lots of it, were swirling around making the room as heated as the inside on an oven. Panicked voices and pained screams filled the air as the building began to collapse, the heat too much for the structure. Mitsu, years younger than the one who laid curled on the floor now, could only watch from the outside. Moments ago she had just escaped, her skin and clothes badly burnt. Her body shook all over with fear as her eyes darted from side to side in a panicked frenzy. It was too much, all of it just too much. But she had to escape! She had to run! She wasn't going to get caught. Not again.
"Get back here you brat!" a voice shrieked, "GET BACK HERE!"
Mitsu's eyes snapped open, wide with fear. She straighten her body quickly, slamming her head into the door in the process. And that was simply enough to send her crashing to the ground, the door creaking open slightly. The act had only made her headache even worse. Her body shook, the red aura glowing even brighter than before.
"I don't want to die, I don't want to die," she repeated and soft, fearful tones over and over to herself as she lay there huddled on the floor. She was completely oblivious of Kilik or Cable at the door as it creaked open just a bit wider. Vision blurring, breathing heavy, and head pounding, Mitsu fell unconscious, the red aura vanishing completely.

Despite how serious she felt about battles -- the sentiment magnified by the fact that a Badge was as stake, here -- Blanca couldn't help but giggle at her Granbull, who now looked very much like a busted pillow with fangs. The Pokemon sent his trainer an indignant look through his red eyes, clearly not appreciating her infectious laughter. "R-right," Blanca snorted, becoming unlady-like for just a second as she struggled to speak through her contortions. "Get that overgrown bird with a Lick!" Finally, back on the offensive. The Granbull made another dash towards the Pidgeotto, looking a bit ridiculous and conscious of this as well as the grit still in his eyes. With an arm, he attempted to chop down on the bird to keep it from flying away as his tongue lashed out. God, Flying-types were such pains for the landbound.
-----------------------------
M.A. and Saebum meandered through the relatively large city of Lilycove, enjoying each others' company in silence while observing the content hum of the place. She could see why her brother and fiance chose this place to open their Pokemon conditioning franchise; with all the people in this harbor town, business was lively, and more importantly, there was the hugest Contest Hall M.A. had ever seen near the center of the town. Of course, there was already another conditioning salon in town, but it reeked so much of rich snobbiness and superficial pomp that few coordinators could afford going there, and those who did reeked of spoiled money too. Sae and Rein, disgusted by their shallow views of Pokemon beauty, had decided to go through with their salon plans despite the competition; they wouldn't get rich under that salon's shadow, but they aspired to nurture and naturally bring out a Pokemon's inner grace, and that was that.
Eventually, they came upon a massive Department Store, which M.A. entered with awestruck eyes. Sparkly rows of items were everywhere, and they were mostly Pokemon ventures. M.A. made a mental note to keep Ulani within her Pokeball, lest she steal the shiny stuff. "Come, let's go," Sae said, pulling his distracted sister back to earth and tapping a store directory plaque nailed to the wall next to the elevator. "TM's are on the fourth floor."
M.A. had never seen such an abundance of TMs in her life. It looked like they fully stocked themselves with all sorts of the discs; didn't look like they'd run out anytime soon. "Uh... So... Where do I start?" M.A. asked curiously, walking to one of the middle aisles and picking up a white disc.
Sae grinned wolfishly. "Put that Frustration TM down, I don't think anyone could dislike you too much." M.A. blinked, not totally understanding the attack, but put the disc back down. "Why don't you pull out your PokeDex? Rein had the chance to upgrade it so that it can tell you what moves Pokemon can learn, too, not just moves they know... Alright, we're on Daemyn.... click... there," Sae said, pointing a button that M.A. had totally ignored before.
"What do you suggest?" M.A. said. All the answers in life always resulted in more questions, how tiresome.
"Weeeeeell, we ought to give him some diversity. Ah, look, Iron Tail."
"Oh, I bought that one a while back, on impulse."
"You did? Good impulse," Sae muttered. M.A. did have the strangest streaks of luck here and there. "What about another attack? Pokemon can learn up to five outside of their own natural growth. Solar Beam's a strong move, and it's a Grass-type."
M.A. imagined Daemyn shooting a sunbeam through his eyes with twirling leaves floating around. It didn't seem probable, but she wasn't going to doubt the experts who made up all this PokeDex move stuff. Nevertheless, she picked out one of the Solar Beam TMs, figuring it'd be handy.
"What about Tora?"
"Earthquake would be a good move for her... as would this new attack, 'Poison Jab,'" Sae mused. Looked like new moves were including in this move listing too.
The clerk had strode up to them now, intent on helping them. More sales meant a raise, of course. When he heard their conversation, however, he dropped his indiscriminate "Are you finding everything alright?" for a more personalized response. "Sorry to disappoint, but almost no one carries Earthquake TMs anymore; they're extremely rare. And Poison Jab? Never heard of it," the man said, clearly ignorant of the whole Sinnoh news. "But I do suggest that if you're investing in that Solar Beam, to also get a Sunny Day TM; it boosts fire-type attacks, so it's not good for grass types per say, but it also lets you use Solar Beam instantaneously."
M.A. looked at Saebum for assurance like a lost puppy. In turn, he snorted and patted his adorable sister's head. She was so dependent on him when he was around; maybe he was the reason she wasn't more assertive? "It's a good idea."
The clerk's smile brightened like the night sky on July 4th. Money, money, money! "Lovely! Come this way, please," he said, guiding them to the register.
Saebum, being the gentleman he was, insisted that he pay -- a plan that fell apart in front of the expectant clerk, for Sae had forgotten his wallet at home.
"No worries, I've got some money from traveling," M.A. said, shrugging; she would have liked to free-load off her brother, of course, 'cause she always liked gifts, but it didn't hurt her at all to spend her own money. She didn't use it much anyways.
"I've got... 3900," the brunette said at last.
"Alas, that's 600 short," the clerk said, lifting a brow. Darn, he was hoping they'd be rich, but he supposed not. "Which TM would you like to leave behind? Or... if you'd like both, do you have something to sell?"

"But don't expect me to go easy on you because you're hot!" Isaiah shouted as he threw out a Great Ball. "Go Choppy!" The Pokemon released was, you guessed it: a Machoke. (HA! Gotcha.) Sasha giggled at the cute nickname, making sure to give Omelette a calming peck on her tummy after she squealed in fright of the massive Pokemon. Sasha frowned slightly as she thought of who to send out, she was never good at this part. She loved all her Pokemon, and would always get annoyed when facing a lot of the same enemies because that meant one or more of her babies would be left out. After a moment and a few anxious glares from both Isaiah and Choppy, Sasha finally picked her Pokemon. "Allons-y Lightbulb!" she cried, releasing her Lanturn in a shower of light. The Light Pokemon stretched upon being sent out, bellowing cheerfully to both her trainer and opponent. Just because it was a battle didn't mean she had to be angry. "Ah Lightbulb, vous êtes une vraie dame. Maintenant, s'il vous plaît pourriez-vous nous montrer votre Bulles d'O?" The Lanturn nodded in agreement before sending out a stream of brightly colored bubbles, which slammed into the Machoke with more force than expected. It stumbled back before digging his hand into the ground to stabilize himself as he readied himself for a counterattack. "No fair!" Isaiah snapped back. "You can't speak in French mid-battle, that gives you an unfair advantage!" "But why?" Sasha insincerely whined, rubbing her eyes. "I s'ot you liked my French?" The bald man growled in frustration. "No biggie, we can just muscle our way through. Choppy, Karate Chop!" All alliteration aside, the Machoke broke into a mad sprint, swiftly bringing down a heavy hand on the Lanturn's noggin, Lightbulb's face soon becoming well acquainted with with the soft Kanto dirt. "Ah, mon amour!" Sasha cried, clenching her fists at Isaiah's brutal attack; it must have been a critical hit. "Don't let that bully get to you, strike back! Pistolet-à-o!" "Revenge, Choppy!" The biker shouted as Lightbulb prepared her attack, whatever it was. After a deep breath, the Lanturn expelled a powerful stream of water. "A Water Gun, brace yourself Choppy!" The Machoke threw his hands up as the water slammed into him, once again pushing him back. With a furious snarl Choppy stomped forward, taking the brunt of the attack but countering with one of his own. Unable to react quick enough, Lightbulb was hit by a heavy hitting shoulder tackle. Unwilling to let that go unpunished, the fish replied with a tackle of her own, a Spark attack. Lightning crackled over her body as Lightbulb slammed her weight into Choppy, sending both of them tumbling towards the ocean. Sasha, Isaiah, and the rest of his gang raced after their Pokemon as they bounced into the drink. "Choppy!" "Lightbulb!" After a brief moment of silence, both Pokemon burst to the surface, panting heavily. Both trainers let out a relieved sigh, but quickly snapped back into battle mode. Choppy swam back to the shallow water, whereas Lightbulb was more than happy to stay in the deep end. "The tables have turned, non?" Sasha jabbed with a confident smirk on her lips.

Kasiya could only grin at Mrs Kyoka's reaction to her offer, and she nodded, listening carefully to every word she said. That's it, this woman is definitely Mike's mom, no doubt about it,she thought, nodding slowly. But it didn't matter if Karen had brought an entire army to Saffron in order to bust Mike outta here, Kasiya would still find a way to help out. "Don't you worry about me, I can take care of myself," she said, already making her way down the hall as Karen and Proton stepped onto the elevator. "She's so nice," the girl mused aloud as she peered out one of the large windows, trying to catch a glimpse of the winged-Mazarin. She thought she saw him heading away from the hospital, though he appeared to be dancing, badly. "Good," she murmured, tearing her gaze away from the strange boy and looking down at Seto. "That will make things a lot easier if he's not in the picture." She thought back to the meaty security guard who'd blocked her path earlier and she realized that the lot of his type weren't about to just sit idly by while a patient made a break for it. "I guess I'm on security detail too," she said, looking down at her Persian with a grin. The feline mewed lightly, grinning right back. Kasiya may not have been armed with heavy machinery or a mind that worked like that of Mike or his eccentric mother, but she did have her Pokemon, which where her greatest assets. "Get ready Seto, I have a feeling things are about to get crazy around here."
=-=-=-=-= For a while Jaeshan just sat there on the bench, completely bored out of his mind. He hadn't expected it to take so long for the ferry to come in and he wished he had a magazine or book or something to read. Butterfree had let herself out of her Pokeball and was fluttering around, letting the sea breeze do all the work for her wings. A short time later Butterfree's excited chattering caught Jae's attention and he looked up, spotting the ferry heading towards the harbour. "It's about time," Jaeshan sighed, standing up and making his way over to the boarding plank. There were only a few people other than him getting on this ferry though he didn't pay much attention to them. Most people must have left either last night or earlier this morning, he thought, making sure he had his ticket ready as Butterfree landed on his shoulder. It seemed to take forever for the ferry to finally dock, though when it finally did Jaeshan handed over his ticket and climbed aboard, leaning up against the railing on the port side of the smallish ship. "Dewford Island, here we come," he said, reaching up to pat Butterfree on the head. He had a good feeling about this next gym match.

Isaiah let out a dismissive huff at the girl's arrogance. "Yeah right. Me and my buddy are prepared for situations like this. Choppy, use Rock Tomb!" C'est un problème. Sasha thought, biting her lip. "Maaah!" The Machoke dug his hands into the ground and ripped out a huge boulder and putting those huge muscles to the test, hurled it into the water towards the fish. "CHOKE!" Lightbulb was barely able to swim out of the way of the first attack, but in the time it took to breathe a sigh of relief she was slammed with the unexpected follow up rock heaved her way. "Lightbulb!" Sasha cried out as her Pokemon was pelted by the Machoke's attack. "Confuse Ray!" The Lanturn's orbs began to glow bright yellow as she prepared to launch her attack. However, right before she did, a thought crossed her mind. Well, it was more of a feeling; a feeling to try something...different. She was familiar with this feeling, it was a new attack. Lightbulb knew that if she didn't use it now while the feeling was fresh in her mind, she'd be plagued by that nagging 'what if' feeling. So, she let the attack fly. A tingly feeling ran up her antenna, delightfully different from her usual electricity, and soon a vibrant rainbow colored beam blasted from the Lanturn's glowing orb. The water parted as the attack soared through the air and blasted Choppy square in the head; it was her turn to score a critical hit. "That looked like a Psybeam!" Sasha gasped. She didn't know Lightbulb was able to learn Psychic attacks! She'd really have to check her Pokedex after the fight. "Choppy no!" Isaiah shouted, but it was no use. The Machoke stumbled back a few steps before collapsing on the spot, his eyes rolling dizzily from the after effects of the Psybeam. The large man mumbled to himself and recalled his Pokemon, then turned to Sasha. "I said on my honor, and I'll keep to that baby, you can go." "Mer-ci!" Sasha cooed, flipping her hair tauntingly and mounting her bike, glad to be done with this man and his lot. Isaiah frowned at the girl's action. "You see, that's right there. That's the sort of thing that I was talking about earlier." he said, pointing out the pink haired girl's arrogance. "What right where?" Sasha inquired, confused at the man's sudden annoyance. Isaiah crossed his arms. "Your whole attitude!" The man looked to his crew, who all nodded in unison. "You dress all sexy, then act like a snob to anyone it attracts who doesn't fit your little criteria. Granted I came on a little strong, but still. I was just playing. And while we're on the topic, is that tie really necessary? You're pretty enough where you don't have to try that hard to attract attention! You're just playing on the fantasies of a cute schoolgirl with pink hair." Sasha didn't know how to reply to that. Isaiah's ranting was riddled with compliments, and harsh insults "Well I-" "And look at that skirt!" Isaiah interrupted, pointing to the offending article. "Look at how lightweight that fabric is. With the wind on this hill, it'll fly right up!" His frown became more severe the longer he spoke. "What's worse is that you know exactly what I mean, and I think you even planned on that." "But tha-" "You wanted to get a few cheap thrills out of turning on a few boys with your exposed underwear without stopping to think how that makes them feel afterward!" Isaiah's gang nodded, very familiar with what their boss was referring to. "You can't just play with people's feelings then pretend it's not your fault when they slobber all over you. It's you, you're at fault!" It took a lot of passion to completely shut Sasha up, but Isaiah seemed to have that in spades today. The girl said nothing, only lowered her head in shame and slowly peddled away, planting Omelette on her lap to prevent the aforementioned free-spirited skirt fun. "You got me good this time Isaiah." Sasha mumbled in defeat. Lightbulb followed after her trainer, but not before waving good-bye to the bike gang, who happily returned the favor. "YOU'RE WHAT'S WRONG WITH SOCIETY!" The cue ball shouted back with a smile. "Shut up!" Sasha called back, now fully aware that Isaiah and his gang were just being silly. She giggled to herself as she pedaled off. You're right Isaiah, wearing this skirt did attract attention. Yours. The girl smiled again, she loved those guys. "Oh yeah," he said with a flex. "She totally wants me."

As much as Keegan didn't want to admit it, he was enjoying Riza's company and his mood was actually improving as he spent more time with her. Not only that, but she was very nice to look at, and now that he no longer looked like a bloody extra from some horror movie he found that the looks they were getting from other people were actually... somewhat normal. When lunch was over he felt a little dismayed as he too didn't really want to be alone, but his pride wouldn't let him mention it. He lit up a smoke, not caring if it prompted another lecture from Riza and he shrugged. "Well, I'm not sure," he said, glancing around. "I was thinking of trying to find myself a flying Pokemon, but I don't know now. What about you? You have any plans?" He idly watched the smoke coil up from his cigarette, flicking a bit of ash to the ground. He slipped his hand into his pocket, once again finding the pair of tickets. Part of him getting Helios back from Sheridan had been her making him promise that he'd go to this... ball, and he somehow figured he'd regret it if he didn't show up. He looked over at Riza again, and raised an eyebrow. I suppose I could always ask Riza if she wanted to go with me, he mused. Nah, there's no way she'd say yes. Who goes to a ball with someone they just met the day before? He sighed heavily, already feeling dumb for doing this and he pulled the two pieces of paper out of his pocket and showed them to Riza. "Actually, there's this thing tonight. In Lilycove. A ball of sorts, and well, I don't have a d-date. It's probably going to be pretty lame, but if you're not doing anything, well, I was wondering if you'd like to go with me?" He was blushing so furiously that his face easily matched the shade of his hair, but at least he said it. He was certain she'd probably say no anyway, but there was no shame in asking. ===== Miharu couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the Granbull's appearance as well, and she was glad that the battle was still fun despite it being a rather important one. When she heard Blanca's next command, Miharu narrowed her eyes but said nothing at first, watching the Granbull charge at Aska. "Don't move," the small girl barked shrilly. Aska raised an eyebrow in confusion but obeyed, even as the fairy Pokemon's strong arm grabbed a hold of one of her legs, and suddenly that slimy, pink tongue was coming at her. "Now that he's close, hit him with an Aerial Ace," the small girl commanded sharply. Aska let out a surprised chirp when she realized the Lick attack had done nothing (other than leave a bit of slobber on her feathers) and her beak curved into a a grin. With a screech, the bird's body glowed with a faint white hue and she slashed at the Granbull with the talons of her free leg. Lick is a ghost type attack, and ghost type attacks don't work on normal Pokemon, the green-haired girl thought gleefully.

It was pretty safe to say that Riza was floored by the question Keegan asked, and she could only stare at him in awe, mouth slightly agape as she tried to think of something to say. "You want me...to go with you?" she asked quietly, a very rare blush appearing on her pale cheeks. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, quickly regaining her composure. After all, acting the part of the silly girl with a silly crush was so not her. She glanced back at him, a bit amused by his obvious embarrassment. 'It's just like a guy to get all flustered about something like this,' she thought, tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ear. 'I do tend to have that effect on guys, after all.'
Smiling, Riza nodded slowly. "Why not? It sounds like it could be fun," she said. It was the honest truth, as she always enjoyed dressing up in fancy clothes. "It doesn't even have to be a formal date," she added. "We can just go as friends if it'll make it easier for you. And if this thing does turn out to be lame, we can either bail out early or make fun of everyone else."

"Say what? I mean, uh, yeah, that sounds great," the redhead replied quickly, having a nervous drag from his cigarette. Well s**t... I didn't really expect her to actually agree to this, he thought with a slight smirk. "I like your thinking though," he chuckled, tapping a bit of ash off the end of his smoke and stepping on it, the process almost like a compulsive habit. "But anyway, yeah. It's tonight, so we need to figure out a way to get to Lilycove. We can probably catch a ferry from here or something," he mumbled, looking quite uneasy at the very thought of riding on a boat again. As much as he hated it he knew it couldn't be avoided. "Unless you've got yourself a Pokemon capable of flying the both of us over there?" The question was semi-serious though quite hopeful, as Keegan didn't know Riza or what Pokemon she had, other than that funny little Sneasel from before.

It was Riza's turn to chuckle nervously now and she shook her head. "No flying-types here at all," she admitted with a shrug. It still didn't bother her that much, as everyone had to start somewhere. "You're looking at a rookie," she added with a coy little smile, lightly tapping her belt and three pokeballs. "So I guess we're going on the ferry." She saw his unease over it though and she walked over to him and nudged him gently. "I have no idea what I'm going to wear though," she said fretfully, looking at her red haired companion again. "And you too. I mean, this new look you've got is great, but it's not exactly ballroom-dancing material, is it?" She was only slightly aware of how rude she could be when it came to other people's clothing and things like that and for the most part she didn't usually care, but for some reason she felt a little bad for continually insulting Keegan's appearance. "I'm sorry," she said quickly, shrugging a little. "We should go figure out when and if there's actually a ferry leaving for Lilycove. I'm kinda looking forward to tonight."

Ouch, what a blunder! And it cost Granbull dearly, too; the critical hit sent him sprawling on the ground, hardly able to stand back up. The acting Gym Leader felt rather disheartened that her distraction could cause her to make such a rookie mistake -- she still had quite a ways to go, she thought. In short, Blanca conceded defeat, for at his state it was unlikely that he would be able to hit the agile bird another time. "Sorry, cutie," she murmured sorrowfully to his Pokeball.
But no time to dwell on it now! "Your bird is strong, but we're only gonna get tougher from here on out!" she said, with a challenging grin. Regardless of the outcome - winning, losing, whatever -- she had to uphold the honor of the Plain Badge and all Normal-types there were out there. She hadn't even illustrated to Miharu what made Normal-types so awesome yet! Granbull had been her musclehead and very standard. Her next Pokemon would be a speed demon, and somewhat more able to throw out the unexpected; her last Pokemon was full of surprises. This was her line-up that displayed how diverse Normal types could be.
"My next Pokemon is the agile and lovely Linoone!" Blanca said, casting out the Rush Pokemon, who purred and shook its coat in excitement. "Let's, like, educate 'em on the strength of ambigui -- ambi -- neutrality! Show 'em the new move we learned last week!"
The Pokemon's fur seemed to rub together at an insane speed, creating a static that 1) made it a fuzzball, and 2) created a jagged bolt of thunder to crash upon her opponent. It was Thunderbolt, and Blanca smiled to see its execution. Her baby wasn't too strong in attack of defense, but she would just keep firing, just try to catch her!

Everything in sight was ablaze. The building, people, even Pokemon were lit up fantastically in bright red and orange hues. Sight, however, was not the lone sense in this horrid reality. The burning room felt hotter than the flames of a battle-worn Charizard and the place smelt of burnt wood and human skin. Screams of pain and pleas for help only added to the heightened hysteria as people and Pokemon alike clawed their way to freedom from under collapsed beams and fallen shelves. Bodies, some unrecognizable, were strewn amongst the burning books and furniture.
The blazing inferno was the farthest thing from her mind however. The sole idea that occupied her thoughts could be summed up in one word: escape. The fire continued to eat away at her body, her purple hair letting off a horrid stench as the fire managed to latch on. A limp arm, that was once clad in black cloth, now black with char and ashes, grabbed into her nimble legs. “Heeeeeeelp,” the man wheezed. He looked up at the small girl, pain and fear filling his eyes to the brim, their previous malice gone now that his own life was in danger. Oh, how cruel irony was.
The girl’s own eyes widened as she loosed a scream of terror, wrenching her leg free of the man’s grip. Her own blood spilt from her right arm and onto the person's body, the red oozing liquid mixing in with the powdery black ash. She made a mad dash to the nearest exit, somehow not tripping over anything on her way. Luck was on her side thus far perhaps it would last.
Or maybe not. “You won’t escape! I’ll catch you! Or you’ll die in the goddamn fire!” (( Edited. ))

"Barely made it." Crenu watched as very few people were in line to get on the Dewford bound ferry, in fact it could hardly be considered a line at all. Getting left behind was not an idea he was very fond of as wasting time was next to idiocy on his list of pet peeves, the term pet peeves being high on that list as well. The ticket booth empty, and Crenu simply stepped over the line dividers to the window. "Dewford ferry." The woman behind the glass printed up the ticket rather lazily, taking her sweet time almost as if she was deliberately trying to annoy him. When he finally had the ticket he gave her the money, but shoved it across the counter with enough force to send it over the edge so she'd have to pick it up. She glared at him fiercely, but Crenu was already making for the ferry. Handing over the ticket Crenu got on board, it wasn't the best looking boat out there, but that sort of thing was irrelevant so long as if functioned properly. As the clock ticked on and no one else appeared to be interested in leaving for Dewford, the engine started up and the ship was on its way to the island of Drewford. "Wonder how long this 'll take." Crenu said as he paced the deck of the ferry several times, watching as Slateport slowly grew smaller and vast emptiness ahead of them continued to expand. He decided that there was nothing to it now but to wait, so he settled on a spot where the ferry's build provided him with ample shade. Looking out into the ocean, he frowned as he gathered his thoughts about his future plans and past events. It was a burden, but Crenu was constantly thinking about anything and everything, his mind never rested unless he was asleep. After winning the badge at Dewford, he would have to hop on a ferry back to Slateport, or any other city that he'd be able to get on a train back home. But as he thought about it, he had an alternative rout he could take in his ongoing adventure. Three times had pokemon contests been brought to his attention by three different people, his curiosity was peaked to say the least. "I could always hop on a train to Celedon or on a boat to Vermillion, participate in the Kanto contests. What do you think?" As he asked his question, Crenu released Snorunt who took up her previous perch on top of his head. She had gotten over the fact that the raven haired girl was gone, and that her new trainer didn't like being opposed, but that was alright. All in all, he didn't seem that bad. She tap his head and nodded in agreement, she didn't know what these contests were, but they sounded like fun. Crenu remained silent after that, the two of them staring out at the blue sea.
