"Considering the amount we are being offered each I would say shes quite powerful. However can we really afford to have her side with Alex?" Seph whispered back.
Hebal hesitated "The only weakness I know is that she has no natural ability to cast magic. Meaning to cast spells she relies on the books and their incantations. If you burn the books she will become powerless. Alternatively you can just make sure she doesn't finish reading the spell"

"Oh she is one of those mage types" Hayate rolled his eyes unimpressed.
Satoshi grinned rubbing her hands together "I could easily put a stop to her with my shadow jutsu"
Felina shook her head "Theres no need to get cocky. Things never run as smoothly as you expect." she petted Cid who had poked his head out of her bag.

Zadina smiled "I know some good fire spells for burning."
Oassu nodded "Felina's right we don't know what kinda of spells she'll have and I'm sure living with the fiends down there she's very skilled at combating various kinds of attacks."
Itaka nodded "Exactly we shall need a plan when we confront her if we are to use each of our abilities effectively to combat her forces." he turned towards Seph "You still haven't told me who or why we are doing this...I mean sure...we can't let her fall into Alex's hands.."
"What makes you so sure you can stop me?" Alex said from behind Hebal. He was sitting in her chair eating an apple and looking relaxed. "Mighty fine apples you Viera have" he said before burning the core into nothing.

Felina went stiff upon seeing Alex. "Hello again" she muttered, her face going pale.
Hayate watched Felina's reaction "I take it you're Alex then?"
Satoshi glanced at the door then back to the others what a great time for more than half of us to be disarmed

Alpha grinned "I bet I know more good spells for burning." His smile faded upon Alex appearing "How nice of you to join us but you really didn't have to make the effort"
Seph shrugged not really surprised at the sudden appearence "Theres no harm in trying"
Hebal on the other hand picked up a spear lying in the corner of the room and pointed it at Alex "Who are you and what business do you have here?" she demanded.

"You've got a lotta nerve showing up here!!!" Oassu said angrily.
Zadina stepped behind Alpha "Thats him....the dark prescence I sensed" he whimpered
Itaka gritted his teeth "Fool..."
Alex sighed "Oh come on don't be like that" he glanced at Hebal's spear and tapped on the tip of it causing it to fall to the ground a smoking corrupted wreck "We were comrades! I helped you get out alive at the endless abyss besides I'm only stopping by for old times sake." he patted Hebal on the head "And you don't have to worry about the Viera...I wouldn't harm on hair on their pretty heads" he said stroking Hebal's hair "Besides I already overheard all the information I need just there" he said walking around the room he stopped to stare at Felina's dress "Hmm you look fine" he smirked before Oassu stepped in between them. "Oh....I see" Alex said disappointedly
Itaka spoke up "What do you want with us Alex?"
"Oh nothing at all I just thought I should tell you to steer clear of Neliel...she's beyond your league by far besides I'll bring her to heel myself so theres no worries" he laughed

Alpha allowed Zadina to step behind him "Unfortunately we know this guy but I'll fill you in on the details later but for now be careful" he whispered.
"Your very presence here is damaging the forest and slowly destroying our home" Hebal spat, "If you meant what you said then get out of here now"

Satoshi raised her eyebroe "And what gives you the right to say what we can and can't do. Especially sinc-" she asked before being nudged by Hayate telling her to be quiet.
"It's ok Oassu" Felina whispered stepping out from behind him "If you have got everything you want done here then please just leave" she told Alex

Alex moved in close to Hebal "Well well look who's talking....you studied the dark arts yourself I think your permanent prescence hurts this forest more than me but..." he moved a hand over her chest "I could drain your power out of you now and make that all go away....and I would have had I not met such old friends here" he said walking back to the group
Alex looked inquisitively at the new comers "New recruits? To replace me no doubt...that must be hard. A ninja..." Alex shook his head in distaste before glancing at Hayate "A red mage....hmm I always found them weak because of their indecisive nature to stick with one way of magic. Oh well" he sighed before perking up "Well well...I sense some potential in the air" he made a beckoning motion to Zadina summoning him close "This kid has power....great dark power" he laughed which made Zadina nervous.
"D..Dark power..." he whimpered
Alex grinned "Oh my yes I am mighty curious to find out how you came by such a delightful boy"
He looked up at Felina "I will leave if you tell me who this boy is or else....maybe you'd feel safer if I took away that dark power" he raised an aura encovered hand to Zadina's throat "After all better travelling with a corpse than an enemy"
Oassu stepped forward but Alex flung out a hand and Oassu was encased in stone.
"He always was a hot-head....never stood still" Alex sighed

Hayate watched Oassu being attacked by Alex, ignoring the comment he had made Its a good job I packed those remedies
Felina watched the events unfold in horror "He is my cousin Zadina put him down and go" she pleaded.

Seph whacked Satoshi on the side of the head "Your not doing us any favours"
Alpha sighed "Let the boy go here is hardly the place to cause a scene"
"I studied it. Notice the past tense" Hebal replied. She glanced at Felina like that is really going to do anything she thought cynically. She went over to examine Oassu.

Alex put Zadina down who promptly ran behind Felina "Seems a little cowardly though to me" Alex sighed walking towards the window. He opened his hand and the stone encasing Oassu started to crack. He looked back at Zadina "Boy if this is how you are going to react in a real situation...just remember that next time your enemy may not be as friendly as me" he said bowing to the others before turning into a dark fog and floating out the window.
Itaka let out a sigh "He's changed....the dark energy has corrupted him" he said walking over to examin Oassu "The kid's lucky...this is only a casing if he'd truly petrified him he could have broken him to dust instead of just this" he said as he opened the crack revealing Oassu's hand.

Felina nodded in agreement with Itaka somewhat shocked by the change. She turned around to Zadina "Are you ok? You aren't hurt too badly are you?"
Hayate walked over to Oassu casting a spell on the stone casing "That should speed things up a little" he told them as more cracks began to show. Satoshi said nothing closing the window once the fog had disappeared.

Hebal sighed helping Satoshi close the window "Great now I need a new spear and a new place to lay low for a while"
"Kinda hard to believe he is the same person that travelled with us for a bit" Seph agreed "And it totally killed the mood" she complained.
Alpha frowned scratching his chin "Still it was a necessary reality check. We are going to have to see him again sooner or later so we may as well try to learn from this"

"Hey Felina your boyfriend's pretty stiff" he snickered a little "Give him an esuna or something" he said before turning to the others "Alpha's right we've been pretty slack lately...all play no work but I suppose we should get back on track" he walked over to the remains of the spear "It would seem he uses that dark gem of his to absorb dark energy presumably this would allow him to control Neliel considering her infatuation with it" he sighed and turned to Hebal "Sorry we dragged you into this..." he thought for a moment "If you need a place to stay we have an airship with more rooms and we could use a spearwomen to aid us" he offered
Tears appeared on Zadina's face "I-I'm sorry Felina I was so frightened I...I couldn't cast a spell on him"
