Nina raced up the stairs onto the roof, unclipping Krystal's Pokeball from her belt. When she arrived on the rooftop, she released her Pokemon quickly and hopped on her back, Anna following closeby. "Krystal, to the Gym as fast as you can fly!"
Krystal made an excited chirping, cooing noise, and shot off for Saffron's gym as fast as she could. She looked like a long, slender bullet that was cutting across the skyway, and she darted down toward the Gym's entrance when it was in sight.
I don't have time to set up the Gym's traps this time, Nina thought to herself, but, that's okay! I doubt Mike would have the patience to deal with such a puzzle anyway. As they were flying, Nina took out her Earthquake TM, and pressed it to Pookie's Pokeball. She figured that it would be of extremely good use to him, considering his attacking power. When the TM had been used, she put it into her bag.
Nina jumped off of Krystal and recalled her Pokemon as they neared the Gym's entrance. She smiled when she saw Mike running toward her.

The boy jumped in the air, skidding to a halt in front of Nina. "I'm ready set!" He caught his breath, still holding onto Titanium's Pokeball. After a few moments of gasping, he got his energy back. "So, let's get this show on the road already!"

Before long, Keegan started laughing too. He only laughed harder as the girl recalled her Sudowoodo, and Althena stood proudly on the ground before them, arms folded across her chest.
"So is your Psyduck gonna evolve soon?" the girl asked, wiping a tear from her eye.
"Evolve? I really don't know," Keegan answered honestly. He hadn't even really considered the evolution of anyone on his team, save for Helios. His thoughts drifted to the Fire Stone he had tucked safely in his backpack. "I never really thought about it. But someday, when she feels the time is right, she'll make her decision."
"Psy!" Althena cried, and held out her arms, wanting to be picked up. Keegan obliged her, the young Psyduck began to sing happily, every once and a while making a strange face at the Vulpix perched on Keegan's shoulder.

Nina grinned, and snatched Mike's arm, and practically ran with him into the Gym; Anna passed through the door and went near Nina as she took an opposite side of the Gym than Mike.
Nina reached for her belt, and grabbed two Pokeballs. "All right you two," she said, "since you both love working together so much... Let's go!"
Mihoshi and Sakura materialized on the field.

Mike smiled, he was glad Nina was as eager as he was. "Ready set? Let's rock!" Mike unclipped a Pokeball, tossing both in the air. The first released Felsic, who felt energized by the new move and the previous victory. He landed on all fours and flared his pours, ready to fight.
The other Pokemon who was released landed with a thunderous noise. Standing beside Felsic was Mike's old Steelix, Titanium. He let out a deep chested roar, glad to be fighting again.
"Alright you two, let's start this off with a bang," Mike held out his hand, pointing to Nina's Pokemon "Titanium, Rock Tomb Mihoshi! Felsic, Flamethrower Sakura!"
Felsic was the first to respond, exhaling a stream of fire towards the grass Pokemon.
Moving second, the large steel snake Pokemon slammed his tail on the ground, a large cluster of rocks falling from above the Togetic.

Kasiya rode north, past the same things she and Hiro had raced through before. Most of the trainers weren't even out yet, something that Kasiya was thankful for as she passed through the grassy fields. A few early Pokemon were out and about, poking around for breakfast, and paid no attention to the girl as she biked past. Kasiya shivered a little, the air was a bit chilly still, and her bare legs were starting to get cold. It wasn't long before she came upon the Southern Gate, which was wide open for one reason - it lacked a gate entirely.
Kasiya could barely stifle her giggles as she rode up to the gate, or lack thereof, stopping as she saw several guards and workers around, taking measurements and chatting to each other. One of them noticed her, and nodded, signifying that she could go through. "What happened here?" she asked cutely, trying her best to maintain an innocent look.
"Somebody really wanted out of Saffron," one of the guards replied. "Big brute, bashed the door down and everything."
"Ooh, scary," Kasiya said, shivering a little.
"Joe! Don't go shootin' off your mouth to strangers!" one of them hissed.
"She's just a kid, what could she do?" Joe retorted, but by the time he turned back to look at the blonde girl, she'd already passed through, hardly able to keep her bike balanced as she was laughing so hard.

Mihoshi shot over toward Sakura and picked her up (only after being crushed by one of the Steelix's many rocks it had dropped, and subsequently having her speed reduced) using her Fly attack.
"Wait... Mihoshi!" Sakura said. "Hold me upside-down and fly me over Felsic! I've got an idea!" "Err... all right!" Mihoshi replied, complying with what her companion asked. Sakura shook her head rapidly, and a Poisonpowder spore slowly fluttered down towards Felsic.

There was nothing the Quilava could do about the Poison powder, so he didn't focus on it. It still didn't make it feel any better, the purple haze stung his skin, and he could feel it starting to seep to his body. "Don't worry about that Felsic, use your new move Brick Break on Mihoshi! Titanium, give him a lift!"
Titanium realized what his trainer meant and lowered his head. The Fire Pokemon raced over at top speed, the poison already starting to burn. Felsic winched in pain, but kept going. He hopped onto Titanium's snout and began charging the new attack. The Steelix thrust his head up, launching Felsic at the airborne Togetic. Felsic hoped his aim was on, and whipped his paw towards the fairy Pokemon.

Mihoshi dropped Sakura, who landed semi-comfortably on the ground. Mihoshi, however, was much less comfortable; she was struck by the attack and sent crashing to the ground. Her Normal-Flying type negated what would have been a super effective hit, but she was still in pain nonetheless. She got to her feet --somewhat slowly-- and looked to the colossal Titanium. She Yawned in his general direction.
Sakura took little time to rest; she scuttled at a rapid pace over towards Titanium, and latched onto him, unleashing a Giga Drain attack.

Kasiya looked around the now very-familiar sights of Saffron, glad to see that the widespread panic and chaos from yesterday had all but gone. She rounded a corner, and gasped, seeing for the first time, the wreckage of the helicopter that Mai and Giggles had shot down from the sky embedded in the side of the building. Of course, Kasiya didn't know that, and she gazed up at the building from behind the police line, looking miserable. "This is horrible," she whimpered, finally tearing her gaze away. "Who would do such a thing...?"
"It's a sad, sad world we live in," an elderly woman said, who'd been walking by as Kasiya spoke. "It's a shame you have to grow up in it, my dear."
"Do they know who did that?" Kasiya asked, pointing at the building. "Were there casualties?"
"I'm afraid so. That building served as a workplace for hundreds of people. It's only natural that so many would die in a disaster such as this."
"So many?" Kasiya repeated, tears in her eyes. "How... how many?"
"Twenty seven, from what I heard last. There are still five missing, though."
Kasiya hung her head, now pushing her bike as she walked. The woman's words echoed in her mind. It's a shame you have to grow up in it.
"No," Kasiya said defiantly. "It's a shame that I can't do more to help change it." She continued walking, catching sight of the Pokemon Center up a head. She blinked when she saw a figure step out of the sliding doors, dressed in flame-decaled pants, with brown hair...
"Mike!" Kasiya called, but he didn't hear her. She chased after him, encumbered some by her bike, and spotted him disappearing onto the Saffron Gym. "What's going on in there?" she asked herself, and made her way over to investigate.

Mike cursed under his breath, sleep effects were his least favorite. "Quick Titanium before you fall asleep, give it an Iron Tail!"
Using the last of his energy, Titanium slithered over to Mihoshi and lifted his tail up. It shone in a white light as he brought it down on the smaller Pokemon. Following the attack, hit or miss, he fell right asleep.
Felsic saw Sakura attack Titanium, and decided it was time to end it. Taking aim, he fired another Flamethrower attack at the grass skirt wearing flower.

The battle was already waging when Kasiya entered the gym. A little relieved to find the gym's puzzles had been disabled, Kasiya made her way inside, and peeked around the corner, her eyes widening in excitement as she saw Mike and Nina engaged in battle. Obviously, she saw Titanium first; the Steelix was rather hard to miss after all. After more careful observations, she was able to spot Felsic, who'd just delivered a powerful Brick Break to a fluttering white target - Mihoshi, Nina's Togetic. Mihoshi yawned at the Steelix, an action that made Kasiya blink in confusion. On the ground, she then spied the little Bellossom, trying to latch onto Titanium for a Giga Drain. She giggled slightly, but quieted herself, deciding to watch from a corner and wait until they were done. She didn't want to disturb the battle, after all.

The Togetic was crushed under the weight of Titanium's tail (which, in actuality, was most of its body); it subsequently was knocked out. Most of Mihoshi's body was buried, although her little feet were still visible.
Still latched onto the Steelix, Sakura continued her Giga Drain attack. However, this was not without a price; she was englufed in the Flamethrower attack, and let out a shriek that mimicked a Victrebell's. Letting go of Titanium, Sakura scuttled around the arena, shrieking, and flailing her arms violently, her head on fire. She was able to muster up a little logic, however, and ran back over to Titanium, rubbing her head onto his body, attempting to put herself out.

Mike cheered at the successful KO, and recalled Titanium before anyone could take advantage of his little nap. "Mop up the other one Felsic, Crush Claw!" He commanded, hoping to finish off Sakura before she could be in too much pain. The Quilava raced forth, swiping the grass Pokemon and retreating back his position. The poison still stung, and Felsic could feel his energy fading fast. Mike released his Next Pokemon, Beacon. "Another Gym battle buddy, I expect the best!" Giving a dopey salute, the Ampharos giggled at Felsic, who merely smiled.

The Bug Catcher soon left, still grumbling over his loss; M.A. felt a tad sheepish over their 'victory' as well, not quite feeling satisfied with how the battle had went. But there was nothing she could really force upon her dear Daemyn, of course -- maybe he just needed time to get used to being around others, beyond M.A. and his family. Maybe then, when he was more comfortable, things would get better; maybe he'd learn to appreciate, cooperate, respect and trust. It was still a long and slow journey yet for him, but M.A. was sure he'd make it through on top. All the while, she'd be supporting him by his side and helping out as much as possible.
For the time being, though, she'd best watch out for Ulani, who could potentially be put at high risk when assossiating with the hot-tempered puppy. Speaking of which, M.A. wondered if the Swablu was alright now. Releasing her from her Pokeball, the trainer soon was relieved to see that the little blue bird was quite alright; naturally, she floated to M.A.'s head, nesting there contentedly. Not confused anymore, definately.
She couldn't help but want to check on Daemyn, as well, and sent him out into her arms. The puppy looked tired and still a bit ticked off, but was otherwise fine and just as content to sit in her arms. He was released not a moment too soon, either -- a worm-like creature suddenly appeared on M.A.'s face, causing her to give off a muffled scream, so Daemyn carefully burned him off.
"Eheh. . . he. . . " the girl laughed weakly as Ulani pecked out the few strands of her hair that was on flames (Daemyn could only be /so/ careful, y'know). "Thanks, guys." Ulani then looked down at the puppy, twittering what seemed like an apology for before (though in all technicality, it was Daemyn who ought to have apologized); he snorted, but seemed to lighten up a bit nevertheless. Just taking things step by step, that's all. . . M.A. smiled now, snaking a hand over to rub his head fondly, then to pat Ulani as well. You're a sweetheart, too, 'Lani.
The trio continued down the dark path, with M.A. securely protected by her two very sharp 'guards.'
