Nikolai arrived at the doppelganger's door . "So...this is....this is his old dorm..." he said with a shiver. "Just...this feels so....evil.." he said. He gripped the hilt of his sword for reassurance. "well....ladies first?" he smiled.

Nothing looked necessarily moved or special in any way as she surveyed. "I'm not seeing anything special. It seems perfectly normal. Well, except for the jukebox."She started abandoning her search by reading some of the books that she had run her fingers over, when she found something interesting. "Hey, Nikolai, this looks written in, and in a more personal way."

"Here, let me see" he said, and began to read. "It's....its a diary!" he said and smiled. he sat on the couch and kept on reading. "Wow...this guy, he really is something." He flipped through pages. "Hmm.....looks like i got what I need." He said and put the book in his tunic. "Now to find Lena."

Adrian Darcy "Now there's a bad idea," commented a deep voice from the doorway. A man's figure filled the space, the door having silently slipped open in front of him. He leaned on the door frame, arms crossed and red hair pinned back on the side, the rest loose and falling to the base of his neck in a rakishly deliberate way. His red eyes glowed with amusement at the man he'd only seen once before, but knew so incredibly well, and didn't much care for. The man was young, he couldn't have been older than twenty years of age, but those eyes had seen remarkable things and exposed the truth that his true age was far older than twenty years. Meanwhile, his body was everything a man of his apparent age could want: skin stretched taut over firm and strong muscles, long legs, broad shoulders, slim hips, and a complexion most only dreamed of. He was handsome, that much was definitely clear, but from under the collar of his starched white button-up shirt, a long, almost purple-colored scar could be seen running up his back. Whatever he was, the man was a warrior, and a force to be reckoned with.
Standing upright, the red-haired man strode further into the apartment, arms still crossed in such a way that showed he wasn't there to cause any harm. Parting his lips, he spoke once more, words lilted with a Scottish accent that was somewhat lightened by his many years in the Americas. "You see, she isn't allowed to see you. It's her own idea, of course, to keep her distance from you, and if she sees you again, I'm afraid you could greatly upset her and possibly cause a miscarriage. I won't let her and the baby be put in such danger." He uncrossed his arms, setting his hands on his hips and firmly remaining in place. "Anything you have to say to her, say to me."

However, she didn't know him well enough to know that it wouldn't come to blows later, so she kept her guard up. She leaned over and whispered in Nikolai's ear. "When I say cover your ears, you cover them. Don't you dare hesitate."Keeping her eyes on the stranger with hawk-like attention, she began conversing. "Why won't she let Nikolai see her? What is she saying he's done?"

Adrian DarcyAdrian's red eyes shot back to the girl, raw power radiating from his aura. He wasn't going to fight, refused to, in fact, but his fingers still buzzed as a voice called to be used in his mind. The voice pleaded to be released, demanding to take control of the body for once, but Adrian didn't give it what it wanted. Instead, he ignored it and raised an eyebrow at the girl. "I'm sorry, but I really don't see what it has to do with you," he said as politely as he could. Just because he was stuck watching over this moron didn't mean he had to be rude to anyone other than the idiot who had hurt Lena.
He glanced back to Nikolai with an irritated glare before looking back to her, his eyes softening just a little bit. She was pretty, young too, and clearly powerful. Of course, her powers would be easy to predict for a Horseman of War, but Adrian didn't want to make things worse than they had to be, so he chose not to activate War's talents and stood still. "Besides, Lena isn't just saying that it's happened. It's the truth. I saw it all, I've dealt with the repercussions. Nikolai is not to be permitted near her, not only by my own decision, but also by hers. It's harmful to the baby."

Because if he's telling the truth, he won't be getting sung to.The doubts of Nikolai's innocence began swirling in her head again, begging her to ask the answer she needed, until they forced themselves into the still stagnant air. "What did you see him do?"

Adrian Darcy"It's really not my place to say," he replied uncomfortably. "But trust me when I say it isn't good. Lena doesn't like it when I talk about it, says that it's a memory she wants to keep from her mind at all costs. I don't push her about it. The baby's still in that fragile state, and any large amount of stress could cause a miscarriage." His left hand moved to toy with the ring on his right index finger, a large red stone glinting in the sparse light that seemed to glow teasingly. "Look, I don't want to be here either, but I promised to make sure that a distance is maintained. I'm not leaving until I'm sure that the risk to the distance is gone."

By not telling Maya what he knew about Nikolai, he was not only being plain obstinate, he was also potentially putting people at risk. Namely her and Nikolai. Maya sighed, letting her frustration known. "I need this information, however. We can promise to stay away from Lena, but I need you to explain what you know about what Nikolai has done. Anything can help."
