Personally, I'd stay as far from Chiss Space as possible.
I assume they're imp-friendly, but they do tend to have their own motives.

If I'm not mistaken, Correllia's in the inner or mid rim... But you could do other outer rim stuff, there's Geonosis, Tatooine, heck, even Hoth.

Anyone who does not know this need only remember how long Corellians have been roaming the stars.

Yeah, from what I remember, the Core had Corellia, Coruscant, and Alderaan, hence their status as primary political powers.
