Listening to her tale sparked a moment of guilt within him, he did as best he could in hiding the drop of regret that tainted his soul. Being popular among the female gender always had its ups, however it also had a lot of downs. Needless to say the down parts of it were usually worse than the ups, Leanne was proof of that. She'd gone home after the fiasco the triangle between herself, Jessica, and him brought. Why does everyone run home in times of need? Familiarity.

Her thoughts drifted to her past, Reinhart knew she wasn't human, but she was once before. A priestess taken into darkness against her will, how tragic, everything dark wishes to taint everything light, its the way it all works. In her words however hung all manner of despair, Reinhart could almost feel it down to his bones, no one was immune to tragedy.

"Leanne..."

Whispering her name did nothing, but in all honesty he knew not what to say, he wasn't around to share that pain with her and he'd only added more fuel to that fire. Why she still looked at him with those beautiful red orbs the way she did was almost miraculous. He'd broken her heart after all.

Leanne heard Reinharts whisper and turned to him, her eyes had turned fierce, fires seemed to burn within them. More tears ran down her cheek but this time tears of deep red blood, sorrow filled her as she remembered the past.

".......Reinhart...."

Her hands hung down loosely by her sides as her body trembled with pain, so much had happened. She once had a peaceful life with her sister but all that had changed the day she and her sister were killed, it was true. The more you opened yourself to one side the more open you were to the other, Leanne and Lenne were open to the light so once they had been killed the darkness had crept into their very once pure souls and turned them dark.

"....It's not your fault, you made a mistake which we can all do. I forgive you...."

She smiled gently at him, Leanne held no grudge with him.

As Leanne cried crimson tears Reinhart was reminded of his still infected soul, the last time he'd shed crimson tears was long ago, something he'd forgotten. His hair hid the crimson eye that reflected everything wrong within him, all that is dark, evil, selfish, and monstrous housed within his frail human body. The opposite eye however reflected everything he was, it was a pure blue and shone brilliantly, the true window to his soul. Without hesitation he reached for Leanne's face and wiped the tears steaming down her cheeks.

Forgiven now he felt a little more at ease, he'd been cursed for the same crime a couple of times before but no other was as special to him as Leanne. Jessica like many others disappeared from his life, Reinhart was hard to hold down and his lifestyle was definitely something no normal person could handle. After all, he did kill for his own purpose, no matter how beneficial it was to everyone around him it was no excuse. A taker of life was something cursed and damned, who would support a man who thrives on death.

"Leanne..."

He wanted the tears to stop, he felt they'd both gotten a little closure and so he took Leanne's hand and once again pulled her to him. Cupping her chin with two fingers he looks into her fiery red orbs and smiled.

"... let's start over."

As she felt her crimson tears be wiped away by Reinhart her fiery red orbs gazed at him, his pure blue eye that was on show to her was like a window to his soul. The other eye was hidden by his hair, Leanne knew that he was not exactly human due to the fact of what happened in the garden when they met and of what her senses told her.

When she had died the darkness had reached out and brought her back, but instead of the life she once had, she was changed. Darkness had started to grow within her, growing day by day. Turning her into another person, talking had helped slightly.

Could she control it?

Would she be doomed to totally fall under it's powers?

These were just some of the questions that ran through her mind, but when hearing Reinhart call out her name once more then feel him take her hand and pull her to him. She would snap out of these thoughts and gaze at him, seeing him smile then hearing what he had to say, a gentle smile appeared upon her lips.

"..Yes, lets start over".

With this her hands would come up to rest on his shoulders lightly.

There were still somethings left unsaid, they'd come to light eventually, but not here not in this Void. With Leanne in his arms and her beautiful face in his hands Reinhart looked to and smiled softly. "Close your eyes." He whispered and tightened his grip around her waist pressing her into him even further. When she did close her eyes Reinhart leaned in slowly, it reminded him suddenly of when they met and what a simple kiss led to. No need to fear that here however.

Inching closer to her lips he closed his eyes, in the back fo his mind he wondered if they would meet somewhere outside the Void, surely they would. A reason was always behind these meetings in this darkened place and Reinhart much like Leanne had figured out that they would indeed meet again soon. With his lips just a hair away from hers he felt a slight pull on his being, the Void was sending him back. The moment their lips touched Reinhart awoke with a start back in his home, he pressed two fingers to his lips and smiled.

Standing there a peaceful calmness overcome Leanne, hearing his words she would do as he asked and closed her eyes. She could feel Reinhart move closer, it seemed as if the world had stopped for that brief second as she stood with her eyes closed in his embrace. Holding him close she would await, leaning slightly forwards.

As they got closer Leanne experienced a sudden pulling feeling, she knew they would meet again. On the touching of their lips Leanne would be pulled from the Void.

Where had she gone?

On opening her eyes a soft gentle smile could be seen upon her lips.

Deep in the heart of the secret FELD testing facility, massive supercomputers were activating as massive terabytes of data were sifted through and uploaded to the computer's mainframe. Nearly everything was complete and on stand by. This was the final test before the full activation of FELD's greatest project yet...

Light reflected off of the glasses of a man with black hair and a scruffy black beard as he monitored the computer screens and massive displays in front of him, surrounded by technicians of all walks of life. He turned to face them and spoke...

User Image

Gentlemen, this is the time we've waited for, the very crux of our work, and the final challenge we face before our whole project comes to life. All that remains is this one, final, test. And we will face it with high hopes, and determination...

Steve, start it up, and prepare to introduce the PCA's Datafile into the Virtual Matrix...

Let's do this, for the future...

Y-yes, Professer... Initiating Virtual Battle Test of Unit-01. Uploading schematic data... Unit-01 is ready for testing. Beginning Level 01.

Unit-01 would appear in a basic 3-D environment, flat with a few tall cylindrical "buildings," and some smaller basic boxes.

CyberArena set. Uploading Level 1 targets now.

With that, 8 small units would appear. They were short, and had two eyes, feet, and yellow helmets donning a green "plus" sign. All 8 units would immediately duck under their helmets for protection, and the system would announce...

LEVEL 01, START.

User Image With a flash of light, the form of the PCA would appear in the arena, its green eyes quickly surveying the landscape and the 8 small enemies that were scattered out in front of it. It then took in its surroundings, and raised its right arm, the hand folding away to reveal an open barrel before the unit spoke in an emotionless and calm tone.

Unit 01 activating primary weapon system and engaging to destroy targets.

The barrel glowed with green energy before a rapid fire burst of dozens of shots fired from the "Machine Buster" towards the small targets.

Quote:
*Arm Mounted Machine Buster-
Inside its right forearm the unit contains an energy weapon capable of firing rapid bursts of energy projectiles downrange into a target. This weapon also has a variable setting to prevent the shots from being too powerful under normal circumstances, and requires clearance from Headquarters to be pushed passed the default strength. Default, the projectiles have significant force to knock a heavy individual off balance, as well as leave a very uncomfortable burn on a target. The burn does not cause any severe damage to a target unless exposed to a large number of these blasts in a single area. At maximum, the projectiles are capable of ablating away bits and pieces of almost every known metallic substance at a decent rate, and exploding with enough force to knock most targets back a good five feet, however, they cannot pierce armor instantly. The rate of ablation depends heavily on the construction of the target being fired upon. Metals will have the most resistance, and lighter materials less.

The first thing that the PCA would notice would be that his shots were having no effect. A loud, metallic "KEENG" would sound as each shot impacted harmlessly. Secondly, the units would then begin alternating fire rapidly, one popping up and firing a small blast, then resuming its defensive stance, then another unit repeating the action, and so on.

Steve: Nothing he can't handle; just testing the basics.

The attack had no effect. Using its Artificial Dynamic Intelligence System, or ARDIS, it ran through a list of options, selected one, and announced it. Data would scroll across the screens of the men as its "brain" went to work.

Attack is ground based, switching to hover mode.

Small booster rockets fired from the feet of the unit, as well as its back, and it hovered several feet off the ground and took aim...

PCA Unit 01 requesting permission to increase buster output to Non-Organic combat level.

At the requested level, the shots would be capable of blasting holes in solid walls from the detonations, and likely be able to pierce through the guarded tops of the enemy targets.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 19, 2008 12:54 am

The units would begin to shoot upwards at the PCA, a 60-degree upward angle at maximum.

Steve: *sigh* Permission granted. I guess that's what I made it for, after all.

Permission granted, the PCA would then fire a hail of higher powered blasts at the small targets, the small orbs easily being enough to ablate through their outer shells and destroy them. If Steve was disappointed, he had no real reason to be. The ARDIS had determined that default level attacks would have no real effect against the hardened shells of the targets. Thus, greater power was requested to bypass the defenses.

The situation had been analyzed and an acceptable countermeasure had been employed. If nothing else, the ARDIS was performing as designed...

If the targets had been destroyed, the Unit would then await its next foe.

LEVEL 02, START.

Steve: Time to test your aerial, melee, and defensive capability...

At high altitude, approximately 6 floating objects resembling satellites with attached chainguns would appear, and after briefly scanning the field below, the barrels would start to spin, and prepare to fire. He'd need to be fast to avoid the bullets. Additionally, each unit was protected by an auto-adjusting energy shield capable of literally deflecting projectile weaponry.

The PCA quickly detected the 6 new targets, and sped into action through the air to avoid as many of the bullets from their chain guns as possible. Obviously it could not avoid ALL of them ALL of the time, but it wouldn't need to. The armor the unit was covered with was fully bulletproof, and rounds pinged off the protective armor as the unit sped up into the air to combat the targets.

It approached the first, the right hand returning as its forearm mounted energy blades shot into action, green plasma being brought to life as the powerful blades would aim to cut straight through the first target, even as the unit spiraled towards the second to deliver two strong blows.

The ocular sensors had detected the presence of energy fields around the targets, meaning that energy blasts would likely be ineffective. However, the close range weaponry equipped on the unit was far more powerful, and would be able to cut through the energy barriers with ease...
