Para, I would think it would be expensive since it's custom made. The stuff at Hot Topic is probably cheaper. It sucks that none of that fits me...I was just in there for my HP T-shirt, and all of that stuff is too small on me. Blah...I want colored skinny jeans... sad . I might just buy white ones and dye them myself smile .

I doubt I'm doing much, my dad has to work and my mom doesn't wanna do anything without him, so it's probably just gonna be another weekend for us. We used to go to the parade since my grandparents are in it, but I don't think we're going this year. We may watch the fireworks on TV, but that's about it....

Yeah I know its super expensive! I want to go to San Francisco for a weekend, fly in from San Diego and look for the Stars Shine Bright lolita store in tokyo town.

I bought one in hot topic its not exactly like lolita but its close enough I suppose.

I'm surprised that the medium dress fit me just fine, the diet must be working I guess...

I'm going to my boyfriend's house party tomorrow and probably nothing else, today I'm supposed to go to my friend's party but I feel too lazy to go!

Stars Shine Bright? Tokyo Town?? I need to get caught up on my California knowledge smile .

I don't really understand the difference between that picture and the stuff at Hot Topic...

I can only buy the T-shirts, like for HP and Twilight. The XL was HUGE, and my mom said to buy one too big so she could dry it in the dryer and it'll shrink. I felt so fat though...buying an XL that runs big.

Cool. My dad just got called in to work at 7:00 on the dot (or when he started call), so my mom and I are just gonna have our Starbucks and go to the mall, walk around a little bit. My aunt DID call to invite us to come over to her house for dinner at about 3, then to go down to the fireworks by the lake, but my mom didn't want to go without my dad. Bleh, he has his own car...

And btw, I love your avi, Para. I want a look similar to that in real life, except I'd never cut my hair that short...or dye it blonde.... But my mom wouldn't dare let me walk out of the house like that...it sucks, I'm missing out on the 2000s!

Just a little bit of news to all of you...I'm finally rereading HP! Haha, yeah I know, it's not that exciting to you guys, who have probably reread it about 1,000,000,000,000+ times (and that's an exaggeration), but it's a big step for me. It sucks that I was in the middle of another book, though...but I'm just not interested in that anymore...I will be once school starts up again, though, and I don't want to lug around a big heavy book like I did before.

Well the stars shine bright is a japanese brand company for the lolita image and they made a store in the u.s. in tokyo town in san francisco..which makes sense

That's cool, I couldn't watch the fireworks, the trees were in the way! I did get to hear them though. You should go to your aunts and have fun!

I like your avi too! and thanks, my hair is dark brown but I just decided to go for blonde on my avi. The punk look I used to dress in when I was in high scnool, I felt like dressing her up that way. My mom thankfully believed in letting kids have freedom of expression, so that I could find my way.

I've re-read those books so many times its not even funny, hell I've been reading them since I was 8 anyway!

The dress in the picture is different from hot topic because, lolita is supposed to be anything but riske its supposed to be modest little girl look inspired by the rococo era in France.

I watched the latest episode of True Blood and I'm so excited for the next episode coming out in 2 weeks.

Oh, cool. I've never been to California, so therefore I've never been to Tokyo Town, so I've never heard of it.

Haha I didn't get to either...quite frankly, I was too interested in finishing SS. Oh I heard them all freaking night and I smelled the smoke from the BBQs, and since I have asthma, I wasn't comfortable until I went to sleep fully. Well, we couldn't anyway because we had church yesterday, we would've been really late.

Oh! And I had this weird like...vision thing...I think I might've been dreaming, I don't know...but I like woke up to a gunshot (not a real one) and I shot up in bed and I said, out loud, "What the ********?!" Then I looked around me and I had all this Gryffindor stuff in my room...kinda like what I pictured Sirius's room to be like in OoTP...and when I looked into the little red light on my analog box, it looked like that crying girl in the painting when Harry was in the Prefect's bathroom in GOF. Then I put my glasses on, and everything was back to normal...o.O.

Thanks! My mom doesn't even let me paint my nails black because she thinks people will judge me -rolls eyes-. Everyone paints their nails black in my school, and besides, no one could give a damn about me. I blend into the background just like she wanted me to. I could come to school dressed like a clown and no one would care. I think she's been thinking I'm still at a private school...

I couldn't read them when they came out because my kindergarten teacher yelled at my mom for reading them to me when I was 5 (I never remember from when she read them to me) and she kept a pretty close watch on me ever since she retired when I was in 3rd grade. And by then I was more into the Series of Unfortunate Events books...and being younger, they took me forever to read. I didn't really get into HP until I saw the 5th movie...I thought Ron was cute, so I decided to read the books...if that makes sense.

Modest?! That skirt was so short I don't know how she can sit properly! Little girl look?! No little girl in their right mind would wear that, unless that's the style in Japan...or rather, France.

Is that a good show? I was thinking of watching it, but never got around to it...my mom describes it as "sassy".

Para, I love San Fran. heart biggrin I've been there three times to visit my fave aunt! There are bookstores EVERYWHERE and restaurants of all ethnicities. It. Is. BRILLIANT! biggrin biggrin

Kineka, I would've kicked the teacher's arse if she was in your mother's position. I like teachers (I'm at university learning to be one.) but a teacher has no business telling parents what they can and cannot do with their children.

Good observation, Deneiru. wink

I think I need to get to California sometime soon...I don't know how the weather will go with me...being so used to Wisconsin's nasty a** weather.

I went to a private school and she thought HP, having witchcraft and magic in it, was anti-Christian. She's really religious. She even yelled at my mom for letting me watch cable TV. She said my mom was being a bad influence on me. -rolls eyes- Same thing my 6th grade teacher said when I went to a public school instead of their precious Lutheran high school. Ugh...sometimes I really hate private schools. My English teacher's right, public schools DO do it right.

Aw guys! My cable's going away in my room on Tuesday gonk . I don't really watch it anyway...and I'm getting my parents' extra DVD player (when we moved, we got a bigger one and kept the smaller one all this time). And I have the kitchen TV in my room now...now it's HD. But of course, nothing interesting. Eh well...I guess I'll be getting through HP a lot faster then last time, lol.

Hello everybody. I appear to be the newest addition to Ravenclaw House. I'm pleased to meet you all, but it appears I have some work to do before I get too comfortable:

If this is your first time entering the Ravenclaw Common room, please answer this question:
Where are your greatest strengths?

My greatest strengths are my intelligence, strong memory, and love of learning (I've always been a bookworm in school) combined with being a hard worker (I'm a Capricorn. Stubborn, but not a bull in a china closet (Taurus)). I have extremely high morals and am almost physically unable to lie.

If you have answered that, our current question is " "What makes you happy in your life and why?"
What makes me happy in life are children, specifically the ones I teach. In the muggle world, got my BA in "Blended Liberal Studies Teacher Education", I am a substitute teacher during the school year, and I teach lego robotics and video game design camp during the summer. Children are inspirational. They are intelligent, and come up with unpredictable ideas, sayings, and creations that blow the most 'learned' of us away. This inspires me and warms my heart.
