"Well, I was hoping it would be in the next few minutes. 'Cause I'm not leaving here 'til you are." He glanced up, towards the treeline, but didn't move his head.

Nyl's expression didn't change, but the bell went off in her head. She stood up, brushing herselff free of dirt and grass. She followed his gaze toward the treeline, feeling that maybe he was grinning just to fool her. She couldn't see anything...but that didn't mean nothing was there.
"Oh? That's...an interesting statement." She still smiled slightly, as though amused. "What makes you say that?"

"Well, I know how you get when you go without tea for a long time, and I didn't want you to flip!" He grinned right back at her. "Actually, I was thirsty, and would enjoy your company."

"Then you shall have it. ...But I think I'd like to have tea out here." Her voice dropped a bit. "You don't know what it's like, to walk under the sky and know, in the depths of your heart, that you will never be able to touch it again."
She took a breath, smiling again. "So, if you'll be so kind as to go make the tea for us, I'd love some."

He smiled softly at her. The look said he understood completely. "It would be my pleasure."
Seph was proud of himself. In the hubbub of buying extra Kunai, scrolls, rations, and other supplies he thought they might need in the near future, he hadn't forgotten a stove. He managed to teleport it home, having forgotten how taxing it was to send something other than yourself through time and space with Fire. He'd managed to hook it up, and was eager to give it a run. He pulled the bag of tealeaves out, then looked at them, confused, then put them away. "I've gotta learn how to use those." He said, as he pulled a few teabags from a small box, dropping them in a kettle he had purchased that day, too. He filled it with water, and set it on the burner.

Huh. Guess I was wrong. First time for everything.
She watched him head inside before falling back onto the grass again. The sky was pretty tonight, very few clouds blocking out the stars. Nyl hummed quietly - the stars always made her think of this song.
And what, then, do I do now? ...And what was the secret, I wonder?

The whistle of the kettle could be heard throughout the forest. He lifted it and poured tea into two mugs, making his way back outside. He leaned over again, head above hers once more and smiled, then sidestepped and sat down next to her. "Here you go."

She sat up, taking her tea from him and sipping it. She grinned slyly. "Not the leaves, huh?"

"You'll have to teach me." He grinned, then added, "If you remember, I mean." He smiled and took a sip himself. Then a curious thought came to mind. "Nyl, normally I'd be worried asking this question, as it's relatively taboo subject-matter. But I feel comfortable asking you." He took a deep breath. "With the Phoenix.. Well, assuming the Phoenix is gone. How old are you?"

It is weird only thinking about my human self.
"Well...hm. I have an annoying tendency not to celebrate birthdays...nearly nineteen, I believe." She raised an eyebrow at him, as though asking where the question had come from.

He read her look and shrugged, taking another sip of the warm tea. "I dunno, thoughts pop in, they pop out. Sometimes I ask, sometimes I don't." He smiled at her, putting the mug against his lips. He didn't drink, just took in the warmth and scent of the tea barely an inch below his nose.

She sipped her own tea, glad she'd agreed to have some. It was by no means cold outside, but warm tea just did something to you that made things feel less cold.

"I can't wait until the snow comes.." He said, closing his eyes. "Something about snow makes things so serene. That, mixed with a warm cup of tea.." He shook his head, shivers running down his arms. He took another sip, then tilted the tea from his lips, keeping the brim of the mug below his lower lip.

"I prefer hot cocoa in the snow." She shivered a bit, reflexively. "And, as beautiful as winter is, I prefer warm weather. When your body doesn't constantly heat itself," she continued with a wink at Seph, "cold can get annoying."
