Alright so the hurricane is so far being fairly good to me, my house has only been hit by wind and rain.
The power is still on, the cable and internet still work as if it were a sunny day, which is rather bizarre.

Luckily I live in a very secluded area on a lake surrounded by trees, the trees are far enough away not to hit any homes but serve as a very thick barrier from the wind so that it is not as damaging on the house. The houses in my neighborhood are raised up about five feet from the lake in my backyard, so the water simply runs off into the lake which has raised up nearly a foot, engulfing my dock, thusly omitting any threat of flooding. The storm drains are extremely wide and the sewer system is extremely clean and wide. Our neighborhood has a separate internet connection, and some weird electrical thing that makes it to where the only way that we'll lose power is if something happens in my neighborhood, which is only like two streets of very large and well crafted homes.

I never realized how well fortified we are to storms out here, but during both of these hurricanes, we haven't even lost so much as cable, much less electricity.
