Ryoko made her clean-up short and effective. Snapping the last bandage closed with a audible snip, she drifted over to her dresser, dragging a hand through loose, damp silver hair as she felt about for one of the many elastics she tended to toss haphazardly around the general area of the dressing table. She pulled the pale tresses back into her usual lengthy ponytail with the ease of long familiarity, watching the reflected glow of emotionless verdant eyes in the cold glitter of the mirror.

Since she had gone back home, something had been nagging at her. She couldn't quite put words to it as yet, but there was something...

The Feral abruptly scowled into the mirror, watching her reflection mimic the expression with mocking exactness. What was wrong with her lately? With a muttered curse and a rake of suddenly unsheathed claws across the previously unmarked gloss of the dresser, she stood up with an audible slam before whirling around, stopping just long enough to pull her black tanktop over her head---it was the last bit of clothing she hadn't yet put on by that time---and flashed out the door toward the nearest bit of activity she could hear in the confines of the hotel.

Ikue watched Bert began playing the skeeball game, watching as his points increased. After Bertram had claimed his prize, she smirked and laughed a little. "That was a good game!" Ikue then blinked a little when the ghost had offered his prize to her. "Oh gee.." The young girl smiled, for it has been a while since she had this much fun, ever since her friend Suzume had died. Ikue took the the large stuffed ghost into her arms, then handed her scarecrow plush to Bertram. "Here, you can have this.. Well.. it's not as great as your prize, but um.. Heh, it's a thank you gift for showing me around and all."

Bertram nodded his own thanks, blushing a great deal. "Well..> I mean... I've done better, really... and it's not... I mean, it was no trouble, I don't often meet people as... um... bea... friendly as you, and..." He gibbered into silence, and then tried again. "Thank you very much," the boy said, bowing slightly.

-Frustrated at hearing no reply, Mimi left the bar room, waving over at Kourin on her way out.

Naturally, she was worried about the demon. He was her friend after all, right? It was then when she spied the strange man, and before he could introduce himself she snatched up the forgotten key and order him to follow.

Instead of going up the stairs, she entered the elevator, pushed a button and waited. The ride wasn't long, only to the third floor. In silence, she stepped out, made a left and continued until she found the room and opened it. - I don't know what's wrong with the dryer. -She stated.- Fix it right and you'll get hired.

-With that said, she left, dissapearing into the elevator once more. Upon exiting on her floor, Mimi paused, violet eyes focusing on Drake's old room, a faint shudder rolling down her spine. Hakan could wait...

At last she reached the door, and knocked.- Ryoko...are you alright?

Ryoko nearly stumbled over her sister as she flung open the door.

"Kuso! Why can't you damn people watch where you're going once in a---" She stopped in the middle of her set down, almost stumbling over her next words before she could stop the flow of her language. "Ky-chan! I was just going to look for you."

-Mimi cursed, hearing the slam of a chair being toppled over and jumped back in the nick of time. Something must have happened to affect Ryoko in such a way. Come on, she had just walked past Mimi and not even realized it!-

Ryoko! -She snapped, giving chace after the elder feline, until at last she grabed hold of the woman to pull her back. It was not until Mimi managed to stop the woman did she see what had occured.

Violet orbs drifted up and down her sister's countenance, their eliptical pupils widening slightly. For the first time, something in the younger Bagheera stirred, gnawed and ate away from the inside out. - Who did it?

-She snapped, with much more ferocity than she had intended. Damn them all to hell! It was then when she remembered the breakdown she had suffered in Sirus' arms and what she had said.

I did this...I know it...I caused them to hurt her.-

That broad smile was glued to her face. "You're very welcome." The dark-skinned girl huggled her gift, the large stuffed ghost. "I'm pretty glad that the first person I meet here is someone who's friendly.." Ikue went silent for a moment as she glanced around, her attention then fixing back onto Bertram. "Will you be my friend?" Oh, how corney that sounded, but she couldn't think of any other way to say it.

Bertram looked deflated for a second, and he radiated confusion. Then he tilted his head on its side. "I thought we were already friends?" He asked, smiling. "But if not... then of course!" The boy looked around, and then asked, "So... what do you want to do now?"

-Mimi cursed, hearing the slam of a chair being toppled over and jumped back in the nick of time. Something must have happened to affect Ryoko in such a way. Come on, she had just walked past Mimi and not even realized it!-

I did this...I know it...I caused them to hurt her.-

Ryoko pulled impatiently out of her sister's grasp. Mimi knew well the distance required for politeness among the Bagheera. Nevertheless, despite the breach of etiquette she turned to face her sister, her delicate features complacent and smug.

"Stop being foolish, Ky-chan," she scoffed. "I got them in hanshii with Saya." Her green eyes flashed with a vindictive satisfaction. Saya wouldn't say two more words about the matter of their younger sister any longer if she had anything to do about it. Her victory had had the added bonus of helping to regain a little of the honor she'd lost because of Mimi in the first place, and Ryoko fully intended to use the gains she'd made in getting back her status to head off Daisuke.

She didn't trust emotion, but she did trust instinct, and something in her told her that if she could only play this game long enough, it would turn out all right.

Somehow.

Without any warning, the young girl clung to Bert's arm while looking over her shoulder cautiously. Paralyzed with fear, she stood there, unable to move or even speak.

-Mimi grumbled, having forgotten the form of ettiquette. If Ryoko had seen her in the tickle fest with Hakan earlier she would've blown her top, that was for sure. - You need not do it again. I intend to face the consequences if they come to wipe the slate clean. I rather return to the pride dead than compromise my beliefs, Ryoko.

-Something in the way that she had that could only mean something had changed in the girl. And in a way it had... Perhaps her stay in the Jekyll de Hyde was a benefit to young Mimi. After all, one could stay in its premises long enough without learning to grow a back-bone of sorts.- And if Daisuke decides to come himself, I will deal with him as well.

- Even if he kills me, he'll have a hard time draging my corpse back to the pride.

Without further words, she headed down the stairs, but not before she turned to look over her shoulder. Now with the room number engraved in her brain she'd call Hakan from the phone downstairs rather than go and call him herself. With Ryoko present, things could only get ugly. Especially if he tried even so much as brushed a hand across her shoulder.

Besides, she was already starving and if he did not answer the phone Mimi was not about to wait for him to come downstairs. Cold pizza was not her favorite thing to eat!-

The wraith looked around, anxiously. Something was obviously disturbing her, but he couldn't see anything except two spirits and their families playing around the games. And through the window, there was the haunted house. He didn't know what the problem was, but he was willing to bet it came from there. And if it didn't... then whoever it was had better show itself.

Trying to comfort her, the boy placed an arm around her waist softly, ready to pull back at a moment's notice. "It's okay... shh..." he smiled at her, trying to keep a brave face on. Bertram looked around once more, and then he started to walk the two of them to the door, very slowly, very carefully. He was positive that none of JdH's nastier residents were in the arcade. But just in case... "Now... now look here!" He said, to anything listening. "I'm on official park business, and this young lady is a resident here... I strongly suggest you show yourself immediately, or... or... I'll send your essence to the dark land!"

((What's the problem with her?...))
