 "N-No," Daren forced out between clenched teeth. "J-just need, a moment." he breathed slowly, in through his nose and out through his mouth and eventually the panic faded. "god-" he groaned as he finally relaxed. embarrassment crept it's way up his spine and he looked down, "sorry." why? you're just showing him what you really are.shut upthe other Daren chuckled darkly, you know it's true. you've just reverted back to the weak child you used to be. too busy panicking to help anyone.Shut up!i wonder-are you going to watch him die like mommy?stop it- you break everything you touch, boyplease, just stop!the voice became sing-songy you're going to break him."Shut up!" Daren yelled, bolting upright and smacking his head against the wall. "shut up!" he hit it over and over, only calming once he felt a trickle of blood down the side of his nose. he breathed hard, his hands closed into fists, as he tried to gain control back. "i won't. i won't hurt him-" he looked at Tim, his eyes desperate for someone to believe him, "i won't hurt you."

 Tim sat and waited, mimicking his slow breathing, closing his eyes and listening to the other. Tim assumed maybe ten minutes had passed, listening to him groan and looking over. The man was thinking to himself. "There's no need to apologize. I triggered it. I'm sorry." He jumped back as Daren yelled at him to shut up, watching him stand up, take a few steps forward and slamming his head into the wall. "Daren!" he yelled, moving over quickly and grabbing his shoulder, but the man just shrugged it out of his grasp and continued. "Daren! Daren stop!" And slowly a red stain started to appear on the wall. It started out pink, one Tim didn't notice until it started growing dark. "Daren you're making yourself bleed!" and that seemed to snap the man? No, blood was tricking down his face. "You won't hurt me." he agreed, doing his best to give a comforting smile. "But you hurt yourself. Let me fix it up, okay Daren?"

"I won't-" Daren whispered, dropping his head to his hands as he crumpled to his knees. "god-he won't shut up." he closed his eyes and shook his head, "i can't make him shut up when he's right." tears began to fall, finding their way through the cracks between his fingers to land on his shirt. "i'm sorry, Tim. i'm sorry." so weak- he couldn't deny it, not anymore. "i need-" he pushed himself up, "i should go-go to my room. i'll be fine. just-just don't want to be seen." he staggered away from the wall and into the hall, finding his way into his room and to his closet. of course you hide in here. he's still going to find you. you can't hide from me, you little s**t. Daren flinches away from the words and curled up in the darkness of the closet, feeling safer now he was hidden. i'll always find you.

He won't shut up? "Daren. Daren what's wrong? Talk to me." He needed to go to his room. "That's fine." Tim agreed, following him out of worry and watching the closet door close. "Daren? Do yo mind if I sit out here and wait?" he questioned softly from the doorway.

Daren curled up tighter when he heard Tim's question. "I-I-," but it was pointless, he couldn't say it was ok. it couldn't be his fault if Elliot was out there for however long it took him to get control, even if he knew it would comfort him to know Tim was near. "suit yourself." that way if Tim stayed it was his own choice and not Daren's fault. It took a couple hours, but eventually Daren was as close to being back to himself as he could be. he opened the closet and looked to see if Tim had stayed or not.

"All right." And Tim made himself comfortable in the doorway and waited. he did leave to go to the bathroom and get some water, grab a few cat toys to play with Apple who had been busy hiding from her master. Tim wanted to call Akane, but he didn't want to call her while he was around Daren, and he didn't want to leave, not yet. So he waited, and waited, and waited. Hearing the door slide open the hazel eyes glanced up and he smiled softly and proudly of Daren. "Are you hungry?" he asked. "I brought you a glass of water."

Daren was grateful that Tim didn't ask how he was or anything like that, instead moving on to normal topics as if nothing had happened. "thanks," he was suddenly aware of how thirsty he was and drank the glass of water in greedy gulps, finish it quickly. "i guess i could eat, i'm probably hungry but don't feel it just yet." he smiled a little and pulled Tim to his feet so he could kiss and hug him. "sorry," he whispered, sincere in his apology. he pulled away and that was the last of it. his hand slipped into Tim's and he walked with him to the kitchen, "what do you want me to make you? i'll cook, you deserve to be spoiled a bit."

Tim let the man drink, picking up Apple and holding her close before taking Daren's hand and hoisting himself up. "Yea, your stomach will catch up." and accepted the kiss and hug, making sure not to squish apple before nodding at the apology. "You've done nothing but spoil me all day, Daren Aomine." he pointed out with a chuckle. "Let me spoil you. I'll cook your favorite how does that sound?"

"No!" Daren said quickly before catching himself, "no, it's ok. you-put up with a lot today. let me do it." he looked at the clock and frowned when he saw just how long he'd been in there. he just had to hope it wasn't going to be a reoccurring thing. "please?" he finally added, smiling a little at Tim, looking hopeful. "let me do this for you, i need to reestablish my role as the not so crazy man that can actually function without breaking down." he said it teasingly, but there was honesty in his eyes as well.

Tim stopped mid-reach for the pan, looking back at Daren and taking a moment to think. He was worried, he'd have to call Akane, get Daren back on therapy. Panic attacks should not last that long. She would want to know about that. Tim didn't have voices (sure he'd think back on Andrew's statements but nothing to what he assumed Daren had) but judging by what had happened to Daren... the man had had it really bad. "All right. You can cook." and dropped his arm, "In this situation, cereal doesn't count as cooking. Not today anyway."

Daren smiled and hugged Tim, "Thanks." his kissed his forehead before moving to cook. he hadn't cooked in far too long and had forgotten how much he liked it. by the time he finished, they had corn chowder with bacon bits, freshly toasted garlic bread, a salad and some grape juice he'd mixed. he brought it all to the table and sat down, feeling like he'd actually done something for once. "hope it's good. haven't cooked since before." he smiled at Tim and dished out some for him, "if you don't like it i can make something else."

"You're welcome." and watched the man cook. He made no move to interfere, instead Timothy just watched the food move this way and that, watched this get poured in and that get stirred. When Tim noticed that things were winding down he grabbed plates and dinnerware and set the table. "I'm sure it's good, Daren. If it isn't I can cut out my tongue." and sat across from him, serving himself.

Daren grinned, "no need to go that far. if you don't like it, you don't like it. i can make something else easily enough." he served himself and dipped the bread into the chowder before taking a bite. it wasn't bad, not bad at all. he'd done a good job. he just hoped Tim liked it.

Tim looked at the food for a moment. He'd watched the man cook all of it and it all looked spectacular. Well, here went nothing. Dipping the bread into the chowder he took a healthy bite, chewing it and smiling. "Ih taftes good." he said before chuckling behind his hand.

Daren laughed, "good to hear!" and he was able to eat without worry now. they both ate quite a bit, Daren more hungry than he'd thought. it was nice, peaceful even, and just what he needed. when they were both done, he took the pot to the kitchen and put the rest in a storage container, "that recipe always makes so much soup. i didn't make it much before because it was way more than i could ever eat. i'm glad i have someone to share it with, now."
