Yea, if I remember right, he was a boss that you could beat, then get onto your party.

Kage Tsukuyomi XD Speaking of Disgaea.....can't you get Priere in the first Disgaea? *recently beat the game before getting hands on the second game* She is at level 3000 something once you beat her she joins you but I don't know the lil tidbits behind why she is in Disgaea she is also on the cover, the panal in the bottom right corner as the dark anoumus figure
