"You overestimate me, madam. Really not much of a fighter, more of a scholar if anything."
"Bollocks. But I can't really deny the scholar bit..." Emma sighed, rolling her eyes. "I'm sure you've had a similar experience with Gallon. This one went overboard with a theory of his, covered the walls in writing I couldn't even read, and 'forgot' to eat for a day."
The sorcerer pointedly ignored her.

"I used to have that problem as he loves to write as well, but lately I haven't seen Gallon eating much of anything. He just pops in and out whenever he likes..." Her canine muzzle grinned as she beamed with pure affection. She sighed and then shook her head. "I'll keep you in mind if I need an extra competitor to make it even, I can count on you for this, Lord Hrothbert?" It probably wasn't fair of her to use her canine innocence on him like that, very few were able to resist her begs, another unsightly domestic trait for a werewolf to have.

"It wasn't the writing I had the problem with, it's the fact that he's the type of person that switches languages whenever he damn well pleases and I can't follow some of them."
"It is not my fault you can't read Sumerian."
"Please sign up?"
"..fine." The sorcerer took the quill from Vii and signed his name on the clipboard in thin, spidery handwriting.
"Thank you."

"Hooray!" Vii jumped into the air and did a little twirl, her cape flowing behind her with the motion. "I'm sure you will enjoy yourself-oh my, is that the roast?" The wolf girl asked sniffing the air just as the servers came out with the giant beast on silver and gold platters. Each of them was placed on a table with little plates and silverware assembled all around it in decorative shapes, like domestic constellations. "Please have some!" She urged the pair toward a table and then disappeared into the kitchen out of view. ★★★★★★★

"Bugger, we forgot masks...this is a masquerade, right?" Emma asked, her eyes widening at the sheer size of the roast. "Bloody cravings...I think my synapses just exploded." "Just be careful not to eat through the table." her husband joked, drawing two masks out of a pocket that was definitely not big enough to fit them. Emma's took the form of a stylized raven, while Hrothbert had opted for something simple, sleek and black. "Zorro..." Emma muttered, donning her own. "Pardon?" "Nothing."

Returning from her meal in the kitchen she adjusted her mask hastily and searched for her empty glass. She was pleased to see the Nobles were enjoying their meal. They looked comfortable, with their newly assembled costumes, so Vii took this opportunity to go shake some legs on the dance floor. She didn't know the tune but it was catchy as she twirled and hopped to the beat, wagging her tail in time.

Smiling brightly, Bonnie nodded and thanked Vii for the drink. She wasn't quite sure what she thought of smelling like the ocean. It made sense she guessed, she was around water...alot. The thought popped into her head that she hoped she smelled like the ocean when its fresh and not like low tide. Swinging her legs, she sipped her drink as Vii went to speak with the Lord and Lady. The music made her tap her foot as she looked around the room to see if any one else was arriving. ((I'm assuming this event is still going on? Stupid computer crash made me miss out on all of Sunday, but I'm back on now... mostly. Also I may change my avatar from time to time, but ignore any one but this one. ))

David pushed the Tavern door open. It creaked loudly and the bounty hunter muttered something about oiling the hinges. As usual, a cigarette hung loosely in his lips. However, this particular cigarette didn't produce the foul odor most people associated David with. It seemed he had switched to a cleaner brand. David took a seat at the end of the bar and ordered a drink. Once he had received it, he pulled a newspaper from his coat and pretended to read.

The front doors flew open seemingly of their own accord and Eden strode through proudly, as if she owned the place. The bar was pretty quiet, despite the strange music that blared from unseen origins. It gave the room a surreal feeling, coupled with the thick odor of wet dog, told Eden that she'd come to the right place. "I thought there was supposed to be a party going on." Eden mumbled, helping herself to the bottled blood in the counter behind the bar.

The tavern had grown quiet as of late, but an old regular had returned.
Emma was curled up in the booth that used to be hers, cloak tied securely about her shoulders and child at her breast. The half-elven was fast asleep in her mother's arms, even as Emma enjoyed a luxury she had been long denied.
A glass of wine. And the dark-red substance had never tasted better.

Some force had guided Emma of the Isles to this tavern. What force, she did not know, but the enchantress came nonetheless.
She was lounging at the bar, legs crossed (revealing quite an expanse of skin), idly sipping from a glass of wine.
People kept looking at her as if they knew her, and most were shocked by her dress, lack of wedding ring, and expression of calculating coldness.
((Anybody?))

Remus had slipped out to escape the stress of being at war. The Imperator was wearing casual clothes and sunglasses to hide his identity. Of course, anyone with the right senses wold have picked up on him immediately. It had been ages since he had been in the Waning Vestal. A smile came across his face as he spied the booth where he and Kaok had their first date. A young couple sat there now, in fact. The Imperator could tell they would fall deeply in love by the end of the night. Perhaps his love for the Empress was like nuclear radiation. Remus felt a wave of nostalgia come over him.

The enchantress had no idea who Remus was, of course, but she could sense a man with power from miles away. She shifted her posture, turning it from a wary stiffness to a practiced and seductive pose. She said nothing, only waited for the Imperator to spot her.
She saw the wedding ring on his finger, but it meant nothing to her.

Still being the newcomer and such around here, the drunk strolled into the tavern to cure her loneliness. At first, it looked a bit shabby, but when she smelled that strong scent of alcohol and socializing, Ada squealed in excitement and got right onto a seat in no time; right in front of the bar table. Ada was so happy, she acted like a kid in a candy store. She was oblivious to the mummer of other people; too busy zoning out.
Slurring, drooling, and laying her head on the bar's table, she said, "This shall be my home and I shall call it MAMA. Yes yes, and maaaaybe I'll meet some nice people here~ That'd be sweet!"

Remus spied the drunk girl and shook his head. The chivalrous side in him would call a cab for her later. But that could wait. He felt a familiar magic force and immediately recognized it. He turned to face Emma. "Lady Emma! It's nice to-" but when the Imperator saw her, a look of confusion came across his face. "Emma...you normally don't dress like that...where did your modesty go? My circuits are sparking just trying to process this." Then his sharp optics noticed something else. "And where is her wedding band? Did I miss something?"
