Hello, sirs and ma'ams. I am new to the guild and have requested a Marine test. My only favor right now is to give me 24 hours to reply since I am a little bit tight on schedule, as I discovered earlier this night.

Hello All.
Name's Glein, just joined, did all the stuff for the profiles, sent the test request...
While I await for it to arrive... I was wondering something...
Are we allowed to make modifications to our weapons, such as changing out some parts for others, attachments, or will weapons be required to be the standard version as seen in the games and books?

What kind of attachments are you thinking about?
Also I had to walk by my friends dad playing Mass Effect 2. D: Ohh and I really want Way of the Samurai 3 now, I think I might get it before ME, Forza and all those other games I can't remember b/c of my dead xbox.

well, it mainly depends on the weapon I get, but mostly, something like a AN/PEQ-2 laser system, a holographic or red dot sight if I'm using a standard AR, and if I'm with a BR, a higher magnification ACOG-style scope... if a sniper rifle (since I chose Marksman for my field), well, the AN/PEQ-2, and I might leave the scope alone...
But again, it all depends on the weapons I get issued once I've gotten and completed the test.
As for why I mainly ask... it's mostly because I personally never really liked how 'clean' the weapons in the Halo games were (but for the SMG in ODST, nice to see a linked sight system and silencer put on the sucker)

Weapon modification is dependant on mission parameters. CQB operations are more likely to field the M7 Caseless than the MA5B.
The BR55HB-SR or the standard BR55 is a designated marksman's rifle, used to supplement squads with long range fire while still maintaining infantry mobility. It's not a sniper's rifle, as it lacks both the range and stopping power to be called such.
The DMR in Reach is basically what the BR is supposed to be canonically.
Like I said, it all depends on the mission.

I understand that, it's that way with actual real-world military troops... But I figure we get a 'designated' weapon, aka, the weapon we go in with if there are no specific requirements or parameters. Much like most US troops are issued either M4s or M16s, but there are times they are issued a different weapon because the mission requires it. This is most known with Special Forces units, who often have modular weapons, with a couple of load outs pre-assembled by them, so that they can simply pull out the upper receiver configuration for what they need, snap it onto the lower receiver, and done, they are now set. Sometimes it's a long range configuration, other's CQB, but again, while the weapons generally are standardized in issue, the end result are customized weapons altered to fit the user's style and/or needs.

Glein, we haven't been told or been able to find any such attachments and modifications for the weapons that or canonically accurate. And as far as transplanting parts from a different weapon, that's a no go. The way the Halo weapons are made you couldn't if you wanted to.
