Faith stayed by Kisa and Shane, hoping that the demon would recover soon.

Jake sat on a rock next to her. "It's even prettier at night. The lake seems to glow, and there are all sorts of animals and bugs that come here."
"Weak, but better," Kisa said. "Hit him, please. I can't..."

"I followed Hanyuu here when she ran away from home," Jake said. "We met here every night for about a month before she died."

So then he just didn't care that it would hurt Hope? Faith nodded and fell silent, though she wasn't satisfied with the answer.

"I knew it would hurt Hope," Shane said. "I wanted to think of something else, but...well, there's no excuse."
"It's okay," Jake said. "She doesn't have to suffer anymore."
"Who's that girl?" a warm female voice asked. Her body wasn't visible.
Jake looked around like a cornered animal. "T-that voice..." he said. "Did you hear it?!"
