You're correct in that we're not supposed to give out personal information if that personal information can be used to identify you in real life. According to the Privacy Policy:
NEVER DISPLAY ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO OTHER MEMBERS OR USERS IN ANY FORUM OR IN ANY MANNER THAT COULD BE USED TO FIND YOU OR OTHERS IN THE REAL, OFF-LINE WORLD - for example, your full name, your mailing or home address, your phone numbers, your real email address etc. ("contact information"), as well as the name and contact information of other Members, your friends, your family or others.
Your birthday is totally fine!

I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm usually pretty good about updating the thread accurately and regularly, but mistakes can be made, I guess. Have you recently changed your username? And when's your birthday?
