Seph nodded a bit, making his way back inside. He wanted to be up on the roof with Nyl, but the Protector warned him against it.

"Where have you been?"

Well, it felt like I was locked up in a cage not much larger than I. I guess it's because I was used to being on the outside. I spent a lot of time being -you- before your Chakra got turned off.

"Yeah. There are chunks of time that I don't remember."

Understandable. We didn't want you to know.

"We?"

Nyl and I. There were some things we thought best to keep from you, is all. For your own safety.

Not at all. I am trying to placate you because I much prefer the happy Nyl to all others. And... 'devious tendancies?' placate'? Lay off the syllables, yeesh...

Well, now what? Since Reeve took the whole foxfire show, I really don't have much else to impress- I mean, placate you with.
- He blushes awkwardly at the slip-

Seph stood up, looking around. Boredom was setting in. He rolled his shoulders a bit and looked out the window at the backyard. It was too bright in here. He flipped the switch, turning out the lights, then looked back out the windows.

"That's not my decision at all. It's entirely yours. ...Well, yours and Reeve's."

She looked up at the sky again, noticing that late was drawing closer to early.

"I'd love to talk more, but I think I should go to sleep."

Nyl jumped down from the roof, heading in the back door ((wherever that might be now)) and inside to sleep.

Something was wrong. Everything outside got quiet at the same time. There was no breeze. There were no chirps of early-morning birds. The forest had fallen silent. Seph's eyes opened, sweat rolling down his brow. He remained rigid, frozen in place.

You hear it to?

"It's what I don't hear that bothers me." His voice was very, very soft. He doesn't know why he even bothered speaking in the first place.

You know what this means, don't-

"Yes, I know what this means." His voice never rose.

It won't be long, now. You've got to do something.

"There's not much I can do right now." Seph rolled over, as if he were still asleep, to gain access to his pockets. He again rolled over, flattening the paper on the couch pillow he was lying on. The Emblem shown clearly in the early, early morning light.

And you know precisely who they'll target. You've already admitted your feelings in their presence, and they've probably confirmed it one hundred times over. You of all people should know how efficient your father's clan was.. ..Is..

"I'm not going to let anything happen to her." Now Seph's voice did raise.

Try and be a little quieter. They're watching.

"Zero Hour is approaching.. And I know exactly who they're going to send to attack.."
