Alright, never mind. Family doesn't want to leave until temp drops a bit. And: Vintrict Accidents will be gauged to see whether it counts as an accident or was considered recklessness by the user. Seriously doubt if flying sand is going to be enough to DQ you. I didn't even expect that when I wrote up the post last night.

Link stands 5 feet from the edge of the circle of fires. He then spins 360 degrees and sends a burst of air in all directions. This burst of air is powerful enough to put out the campfires halfway across the arena (65 feet away from Link).
Link used this burst of air to put out the fires, though I pointed out that it would also blow a s**t-ton of sand if it's strong enough to put out two-foot tall fires. Sand is sprayed at the audience (only 25 feet from Link). Sand cuts and blinds these fine folk.
DQ?
Or can the audience members deal with sore corneas for the remainder of the match?

The Haelstrom Fist [Waves his fingers.] Time for another one of my bullshit stories. Earlier, it was the evolution of Pendulum Step. Today, it shall be Ertai Vexic.
Long ago. [Waves left hand.] When the world was young and I was 15 or so, I attended my first GTB. It was my first "competitive roleplay" of the ilk. I was naive and young. But before I battled my first Pendulum Step, I saw Ertai.
Now I didn't know Ertai. I still don't, and this is probably all past-tense in regards to him. But what I did know, was his posts tended to droll on in size 8 or 9 without paragraphs, and that they tended to overuse the term "god." I mean every other sentence had "God" in it, every post consistently. It grated the nerves.
I jumped into the scene during what was apparently Gaia's "psionic" and "planar magic" phase. I had mid-stage-development Omi watch people's matches with the intent to learn IC by imitation. Well, I happen to read a match with Ertai, and what I witnessed troubled me.
Namely in that Ertai, you clashed two dimensions together and shot the aftermath at your opponent, like some kind of perverted super-Hadoken. And if that wasn't bad enough, you claimed as some kind of absurd restricting point to balance it, that it couldn't travel faster than the speed of light in the second paragraph or it'd fail - yet in the 26th paragraph, you claim it hit the opponent faster than light itself.
Now stop and picture that for a moment, Roen. Not only did he summon two whole galaxies and bash them together before exploding the aftermath in his opponent's mouth, not only did he perform some absurd min-maxing, but he foiled his own attack in the very post he made it. When I pointed this out OOC, I distinctly remember him stating something along the lines of "Oops. I'll fix that."
This is why I remember and know Ertai Vexic. I've used him as the butt-monkey of my roleplaying examples over the years ever since, and now, as I approach the age of 20, here he is again. With a disturbing smile on his face, and likely no clue what in the hell I'm talking about. Probably not a clue at all.
For more stories like the time I blew up a lawnmower with fireworks causing a house that was to be purchased by a new owner in 3 days to have a 5' crater in its porch, visit your local library and have them suck my p***s to climax. Thanks but no thanks >.<

That is most interesting... Yet... No one has beaten me in any form of combat on Gaia... Interesting that people who don't know me, talk so much s**t... You see this "elitist" attitude of mine was not created with out something to show for it... Oh yeah... People seem to forget that... well anything goes in role playing and my psionic abilities that I have created and tweaked from my comrads are explained out in such details that if you know what I am doing, if you know your s**t you can stop them.
But I shouldnt go on since everyone on Gaia is in this little club of "false" fighters who value not the idea and the skill behind what you do, but the little quirky comments and dialoge that is used instead.
Get off my s**t, I can do more than throw planes of existence at your characters.

I make most people smile. I'm a pretty fun guy. I guess that since I'm the only one around I'll be the "False Fighter" representative. Understand that I don't presume that everyone feels the same way about this as I do, but: No one here dislikes seeing skillful roleplay. Contrary, we all like to see it very much so. The problem enters in when this skill is hidden in a rambling twelve paragraphs of size 8 font describing absolute bullshit. Idea and skill is only good when it's combined with entertainment. Entertainment is what we strive for. Having fun and having a good laugh Vs. Proving that you're the best and having that be the only gratification See... The difference sets in when you can still have fun while losing. [/endrant]
