Everyone will blame the mother if she is so negligent as to panic under an air raid, evacuate with the baby on her back and walk around all day to find the baby dead, cold, when she takes the baby off her back. To make sure such a thing does not happen, the appropriate offices are prepared to give out milk powder, but be prepared for chaos. Be sure to have two
to five days’ worth of supply until the ration can get to you."

I like its transformation from normal women's magazine (recipes and advice, though it does deal with rations and husbands being conscripted) to propaganda machine (talking about Japan's imminent victory and how American women are animals compared to chaste Japanese wives). And then it wraps it up in August, 1945 with a quick "...Yeah, I guess we were wrong."
This class is interesting, I just wish the reading wasn't so tedious.

I like their recipe for shark fin. It's basically "It's really oily and weird and you probably won't like it... but if you drown it in spices, it's edible. 8D"
Also, a head's up, today I jump back into my Japanese class, so I'll be at school for three hours longer than I usually am. Dx I won't be back until, like, 9, so tonight, and on Tuesdays/Thursdays for the next three weeks, I probably won't be on in the evenings.
