"...huh." Was all the boy managed to say. That certainly came out of nowhere. Mike stood there, genuinely surprised at this particular turn of events. "That...was not how I expected it to end." Felsic was just as befuddled. The flames surrounding his neck fizzled out, and the Typhlosion looked at his trainer quizzically, the boy returning with only a shrug. Dammit, I really wanted to use Felsic in a battle,
and beat the tar out of that shriveled old b*****d,
...and to not be backstabbed by a total stranger. That would have been nice. He glanced over at Nina, who looked utterly destroyed. Rather than offer counsel or give her a hug, the boy remained silent, looking off to where the two bad guys just took off to. From past experience he felt that Nina healed better on her own.
Mike sighed. If only Nitro wasn't knocked out.

Kilik watched as the two flew away, his hands shaking a bit. He slowly let go of Nina's hand and patted her shoulder once or twice before starting to walk away from her. I was hoping to use her in a real battle for once, he thought, recalling Bahamut and placing the ball back onto his belt. He glanced over at Giovanni to see him recalling his Kingler. The boy closed his hands into fists and glanced back up in the direction the two had taken off to.
So this Raimundo, someone that Nina had trusted so much, was in this as well? He wasn't the good looks and great skill that he came off as when Kilik had first met him when he finally saw Nina again. He lifted a thumb up to his lips and bit down on it, hard. A little too hard. A nasty taste filled his mouth as blood dripped in. He winced a bit, sucking the liquid away and ignoring the coppery taste. He looked over at Mike, looking a bit like an idiot with his thumb in his mouth.

Giovanni, on the other hand, was not so quiet about it. After recalling his Kingler, the man let out an anguished yell and fell to his knees, shutting his eyes tightly. He pounded his fist into the dirt many times until his knuckles began to become irritated and raw. After one final punch, he placed his hand over the small indention he made, closing his fist around a clump of dirt. "Dammit. This was our one chance to get him where we wanted him..." he whispered hoarsly, "We blew it. Not only is he gone but he has an accomplice now too." He stood up slowly, wavering a bit as he did.
"I'll...be in my Gym..." he whispered, walking towards the building, "Thinking up a new plan of attack..."
Kilik watched the man walk away. His heart twinged. He'd never seen the man look so broken before. He was cold, no doubt about that, but to see him look so crushed over the event proved that he did have a heart. Kilik kept watching Giovanni become smaller and smaller in the distance, cringing everytime he saw him stumble for a moment, before he finally disappeared into the Gym. Kilik sighed heavily.

Frozen. Numb. Shocked. Destroyed. Betrayed. Those words were miles and miles away from truly touching base on how Nina felt at the moment. She helplessly watched as "Anna" unleashed her rage, instantly knocking out the Jynx, and simply slumped down as her former Pokemon subsequently teleported away from the wreckage she had caused at Maorde's behest.
There she sat at her knees, her head tilted to the right a little bit, an entirely blank expression on her face as she stared off in the distance. Pookie could trample over her at this moment and she wouldn't feel his hooves crushing her bones and organs. She wouldn't notice herself struggling to breathe and hang onto her life. She wouldn't notice the doctors trying to help her respire before she slipped off to a state of unconsciousness that she'd never recover from.
As far as she was concerned, she was dead already. Everything she knew, everything that was precious to her, had turned out to be fraudulent... This boy, Raimundo, she loved him. She loved him, she loved him, but he was only a twisted perversion of her vision of a perfect partner. He was only acting the entire time.
Acting. He put on a good show, too. To be able to fool those close to him whom he spoke with nearly each and every single day, who he had known for quite some time. He portrayed a person he was not, with near perfection, never once slipping up in his guise, save for the moment he bared it to everyone.
Love. What is to love? What is to be in love?
I loved him, I loved...
"Loved" was the past participle. Nina couldn't love him anymore. Not after that. She was in love with the act, not the actor.
The tears came then. And so did the terrible, hysterical screaming and shuddering.
Nina hardly noticed Whitney wrapping her in a tight hug, reassuring her that it would be okay.

Kurine continued walking, slightly bored now. She had seen a few other trainers, but was to nervous to go up and talk to them for some reason. She kept thinking about it, and then decided they wouldn't like it if a random person came up to them and started talking to them.
She glanced down at Sentret, and wondered how much he still hated belonging to a trainer. He had battled well, but she noticed he had hung back for a while before finally walking alongside her. And even now he was keeping his distance. She shifted her gaze to Cyndaquil. He noticed her looking at him and said, "Quil!" happily, before sniffing at the ground. Kurine couldn't help but smile at that and look back to the road ahead of her.

The screams of a broken heart, something he never wished upon anyone he cared about. He knew they were coming, but that didn't stop them from being utterly painful to hear. With each outcry and sob, Mike slammed his eyes shut. "That was low Raimundo." He muttered to himself. "Very low."
To play on the emotions of an already unstable girl, to fake talk her into a false sense of security, these were things that went against nearly all of Mike's morals. Oh, you better have a much better reason for helping that madman than simple knowledge. The boy's right hand began to smoke, as heat wavered upward. You want to learn? Read a book! He was furious now. Too long has Nina suffered. It wasn't fair. Not only has she had to live with her sister's murder, but now this? When were the fates going to giver her a break?
Mike's eyes stayed shut, as Nina's hysterical shrieks echoed in his mind. They enveloped him, only adding to his vengeful state. "Don't worry Rai," he said to himself. "I'll teach you a thing or two next time we meet." He lifted a flame wreathed fist upward, looking once more to the horizon.
"Just you wait."

Train sighed slightly as the sunlight fell onto her face. It was a good thing she hadn't gone very far into the cave, for she really wasn't in the mood to have to navigate that thing again for a while. She glanced back to make sure Pikachu was still following her, and paused for a moment to let the little electric mouse catch up. She was about to start walking again, but he tugged a her pants leg lightly. She looked down at him and stopped. Pikachu climbed up her leg and then onto her shoulder, where he took his lookout perch.
Train laughed slightly, and shook her head, still smiling. She started walking again and looked around for any wild pokemon that might be nearby; she still wanted to train her Oddish a lot before challanging Brock again.

Ky felt a little worried for M.A. It seemed Bugsy gave her a much more piercing look than Ky'd expected; the silence was long and awkward. Even so, he gave her some time. It was plain to see she was thinking a lot, and he really didn't have a say in the matter (they were here for her, not him). He wanted to say something like, 'We don't have to do the gym battle now,' or 'Are you sure you want to...', but those thoughts quickly passed once M.A. declared her challenge. As a matter of fact, Ky was quite ecstatic when she made the decision to fight. He always enjoyed watching his friends battle back in school, but watching a friend in a gym battle was totally different. When he had battled Bugsy, it was as if a new Ky had shown his face, one that would give his all for victory. He could imagine M.A. had that kind of spirit, despite how nervous she was. Even in the face of her apparent bug-phobia, Ky believed in her. All that was left was for Bugsy to accept. Ky smiled; Bugsy did have plenty of reasons to decline, but as a rule, he had to accept, despite M.A.'s final comments. It probably didn't matter anyhow; Bugsy was a Gym Leader; he probably trained under worse conditions than being in a run-down gym with little sleep.

"Hm," she said quietly, "I wonder if any of those people know how to hack into top-secret files related to one of the most powerful men in Kanto..."
"I may," a voice said, coming from behind her. "It's been awhile since I've seen you last, Nina!" Raimundo said, a soft grin playing on his lips. "How have you been?"
...
It was his smile that intoxicated Nina from the start. Those perfect lips that curved upward to create a vision of beauty that was unparalleled to anyone else in the world. And then, there was his face; those jawbones cut to such precise, undefined laws of geometry. A slender, petit, symmetrical nose. A pair of brilliantly shaded brown eyes with a depth comparable only to the deepest of oceans.
But, perhaps her favorite feature was his arms. They were slim and welcoming, always there to catch her when she fell, be it in a literal or metaphorical sense. He'd always hold on to her tightly, never letting her go, cherishing and treating her to be an object of delicacy and fragility.
He dropped her this time, though, leaving her to feel helpless as she crashed to the earth below.
She broke.
He was making Whitney pick up the pieces.
Nina had always been told it was a cold world out there, but she had never imagined it to be like this.

She heard a rustling in the grass, and turned her head to see a wild Ratata scampering into the forest. Kurine decided not to bother the little mouse pokemon, and she adjusted the way her backpack was set on her shoulders, to place it into a more comfortable position.
She then returned Sentret and Cyndaquil to their pokeballs, letting them rest from walking. Kurine thought she could spot the outline of Violet a ways ahead of her, but she couldn't be sure quite yet.

Mitsu yawned, feeling a lot better now. She got up and stretched her legs. They were a bit stiff from sitting so long. Her new aquantaince made his way back into the room, a goofy looking smile plastered on his face. "Feeling better I see," he said with a small laugh.
"Ahah, much. Thanks Keigo," she replied. There was a momentary pause before she spoke again. "You said that you knew I was a Child of the Forest. Would you happen to know anyone else?" There was another pause. "Or are you one too?!"
Keigo gave a whole hearted laugh. "No, no. I'm not one, but I have heard rumors that the Rocket leader's one. Giovanni I think was his name. Haha, but it's just a rumor. I didn't even think people like that existed."
Mitsu sighed, oh well, it was a lead nonetheless. Hopefully it just wasn't a dead end. Her thoughts were soon interupted as Keigo spoke again, "But anyways, I've got to get going. Keep in touch ok?" he said tossing her a peice of paper with his Pokenav number on it before leaving through the Pokemon Center's sliding glass doors. "All right, bye," she said, her words getting cut off by the swift whoosh sound of the doors.
Soon as he was gone she sighed. The Rockets? Why did it have to be them? She shook her head, she'd think of it later. In the meantime she'd need to enter his number. It was rather odd really. He helped her then up and left. Maybe that's what Rangers did, she wasn't really sure. She finished inserting his number and his name soon appeared above Kilik's. "Wait," Misu breathed, "didn't Kilik have some connections with Giovanni?" Maybe I should ask him if he could help. Though he hardly knows me, and vice versa, so . . . I doubt it. She shook her head, why couldn't she have been just a normal girl?

Mitsu shook her head before getting off the couch. “Nurse Joy, is my team healed?” she asked noticing the lack of Pokeballs on her belt. “Mhmm!” she replied in a cheerful tone as a pink Chansey came running up to her holding a tray of five Pokeballs and one Greatball. Clipping them onto her belt she made her way outside. The sky had darkened, but was still considerably bright outside and the weather felt nice. She drew up the red device out of her bag after a few moments of fishing though it. “Myabe. . . I guess I could call. . . . he might know something.” At least I hope he does.
Mitsu's finger hovered over the send button on her red Pokenav. The picture display above was missing a picture and instead there was a black screen. The name below, however, read Kilik. She sighed before closing her eyes and pushing the send button. She opened her eyes back up after waiting a few moments for the dial to begin ringing.

Kilik's eyes were closed as he stood there, his face pointed up to the sky. Whenever Nina cried, he felt a twinge of regret and sorrow in the pit of his stomach. He was sickeningly reminded of when he treated her with the same kind of attitude. His fingers closed around nothing as he held his fists tightly. The boy turned his head over to Mike and pointed at the Gym. "I'll be in there," he told him, beginning to walk away with his hands in his pockets.
A few feet later, however, his left hand began to tingle with the vibration of his PokeNav. Brushing his hair back with a flick of his head, he pulled out the device and blinked at it. Mitsu...? he thought, raising an eyebrow, What on earth would she call me for? He pressed 'Talk' and lifted the receiver to his ear.
"Kilik speaking. It's nice of you to call. We don't talk much."

Mitsu smilied lighty. Part of her glad that he had answered and part of her wishing he hadn't. But that didn't phase her. "Hey Kilik," she began, "yeah I know we don't. We should fix that." A pause then a small laugh, though one that was only half-hearted. How should she bring it up? Or maybe some small talk first? She shook her head a bit, he didn't seem to the the type who'd like to beat around the bush when it came to conversations. So she got straight to the point and hoped that she didn't sound too blunt. "Are you busy?" she asked, "I need some help."
As she spoke she walked around a bit outside, finding a nice shady spot under a tree. She sat down and released Ivy into a bed of flowers. He looked bigger than before, maybe he would eveolve soon? Or maybe not. Ivy seemed to be perfectly happy the way he was and Mitsu didn't want evolution to change that. Digging through her bag she pulled out a shiny red apple that she had snagged from the Pokemon Center that morning. She tossed him the apple and he happily caught it in between his olive green vines. Ivy loved fruits and he bgan to happy much away at it.

He scratched the back of his head and looked around. Nobody seemed to be watching him. He stepped behind the Gym and paused for a minute. Kilik was positive nobody would mind seeing Mitsu again, and an extra trainer would be great reinforcements against the bout that was sure to come around the corner. He slipped a hand into his pocket and nodded. "I'm not too busy, no. Just hanging in Viridian City, fighting evil doers." He posed in a typical super hero pose and imagined a cape fluttering behind him. He knew Mitsu couldn't see him, but it made for a nice mental image. "The usual."
"But whatever it is that you need help with, don't hesitate to ask," he nodded. Part of him really wanted to ask what it was that she needed him for exactly. What was the problem that called for his attention? Surely someone like Mike or Kasiya would've been the better choice? They were both stronger than he was when it came to Pokemon, so the problem must not involve battling. He kept his tongue, however, thinking his answer would come shortly.
