Bertram smiled. "That's great! I never could..." he turned, and looked at the skeeball game with a practiced eye, before starting to throw balls along it. The points totals kept racking up, one after another after another, until he had hit one of the top (cumulative) scores in the park's history. Well, not all in one game. He wasn't that good. He was just really fast and really patient. You don't spend two months as a vampiric assassin's Lieutenant without learning a thing or two.

One trip to a flustered prizekeeper later, and he was carrying a very large stuffed ghost. Just for a second, before he offered it to Ikue.

(( yah. My car got broken into and they took my backpack.. in there I had my favorite cds and brand new walkman. Some of those cds I cannot replace, like the one Brett gave me with of the original Paredim Shift and his dedication to me on the cover. -.- And the song in there.. he had actually said he loved me in one of the freakin' tracks. >.< ))

Silence.

Yet now something was stirring.

In the shadows of the hotel room, deserted now for some time, the pale, gauzy curtains at the windows stirred slightly, as if with foreboding.

Then, abruptly, the hazy darkness that veiled all corners of the were-leopard's current habitat seemed, oddly enough, to lift for the briefest of seconds, and a single living shadow grew long across the floor of the previously unoccupied suite.

With great delicacy, Ryoko wiped a thin strand of liquid crimson from her lips, glancing with something like disgust at the dark stain that spread slowly across the already dusky hue of her gloves. This done, she inspected herself from boot-heels to face, taking in her injuries with the exquisitely nonchalant, fastidious care that was second nature to all feline-kind. Aside from the split lip, she had a magnificent slash glowing a lurid red across the high point of one ivory thigh all the way down the leg to plunge into the edge of her boot, past the knee. A sickly green bruise spead like a oil spill across the expanse of one otherwise marble pale shoulder, and the deep, bloody indentations of what looked suspiciously like the leavings of sharp teeth marred her lower left arm. A tiny sneer flickered across her face as she took in the markings.

Her elder sister Saya had made her pay dear for her victory.

Still, she'd made the priss take back what she'd said, and she still felt the satisfaction of it far more then the pain of her wounds.

A small wrinkle formed between her brows as she glanced tiredly around her deserted room. Ah yes, she was back, back to old problems she didn't know how to deal with. Ryoko recalled Daisuke's face when she'd come back to give her report---carefully inconclusive--to the Pride.

Suspicious. He knew she was hiding something. She had never been much of a politician, and her brother was far from a fool. What to do about Ky-chan....The silver haired Feral scowled as she lifted her arm, licking the blood off with fussy delicacy as cats do with injury, and made her way toward her bathroom. No sense staying like this, not with the bloodsuckers, wraiths, and other creatures that seemed to perpertually haunt the Jekyll de Hyde about.

Turning on the water, she wondered briefly what her sister had been up to during her absence.

(( Its illegal to download mp3s in the U.S. onto your computer, mp3 player or whatever unless you pay for it. Big ol' Napster case back two years ago. Sony and other music record companies said it was pirating. And now all songs that are still covered under copyright laws cannot be downloaded. November Rain's still copyrighted. -.-

Ooh, but I can download all the Mozart and Bach I want.. -snicker- ))

((... Wait... I heard something about that law being changed... or did I imagine it? Or did my brother lie to me? Baaah... -runs off to check it out!-

Ikue watched Bert began playing the skeeball game, watching as his points increased. After Bertram had claimed his prize, she smirked and laughed a little. "That was a good game!" Ikue then blinked a little when the ghost had offered his prize to her. "Oh gee.." The young girl smiled, for it has been a while since she had this much fun, ever since her friend Suzume had died. Ikue took the the large stuffed ghost into her arms, then handed her scarecrow plush to Bertram. "Here, you can have this.. Well.. it's not as great as your prize, but um.. Heh, it's a thank you gift for showing me around and all."
