As Sawyer's hands slipped from the other man's body he could feel it coming. The sadness was now the predominant emotion he felt. How could he be so stupid, and these feelings were now all his own fault. He watched as the other man examined his stomach, his expression appearing slightly of shock and confusion. His attention then moved upwards towards the sky. The clouds had now started to spread and become bigger, almost taking a more heavy appearance. he could hear the male talking but he was lost in himself and his own stupidity. He felt as a small drop of rain fell from the sky and landed on his cheek. the drop brought him back to reality as he felt his power at work, expanding more sorrow as the rain slowly began.

Turning towards the man, he tried to sound a little happier than before and attempted a week smile. "I'm Sawyer. it's nice to meet you Ginseku, I'm sorry I grabbed you like that, you just looked a lot like my friend that I came here looking for and my emotions got the best of me." he decided he would try to be friendly and extended a finger and poked the taller male in his firm gut. "So right now, you seem like a solid rock. So what did you do to get banged up so badly?"

(thank ya'!)

Shimahamaru felt his face turn red with embarrassment. "Oh..." he said, scratching the back of his head. "Yah know, that's the type of thing that deserves a sign." he said, trying to defend himself. He walked up to the android, somewhat cautiously because he was slightly afraid that the girl was just trying to pull a little prank on him. "Welcome to Ria High School. Please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID." the machine stated. Shima sighed with relief and dug his letter out of his pocket, showing it to the machine. For a moment, he wondered if he should scan it, but the machine must have already seen it because it produced a contract from somewhere that Shima didn't catch. He quickly signed it, and was given his materials. After awkwardly bowing his head slightly in thanks, and feeling like an idiot afterward, he returned to the girl whom had helped him. "Thanks for helping me there. I probably would have waited there for quite a while had you not told me that." he admitted. "My name's Shimahamaru by the way." he introduced. "Shima for short."

Kumori looked down at the ground as she walked up to the Gates of Ria. She didn't even give a care about the plants and wildlife surrounding her. She's denied it before, but nervous feelings started to crawl down her neck every time she got closer to the gates. School had always been a tough challenge for her, especially with the last high school she went to. Not only was she nervous to start planning her own life, but her whole "faeran" thing got in the way. Kumori is a faeran: someone who is human during the day, and morphs into a faerie at night.
Turning into a faerie during a choir concert or a night school event was something Kumori didn't want to happen, so she could not attend any night activities of any kind. She would usually escape out her bedroom window and fly with the stars shooting across the velvet blanket of night skies. The problem was, if any normal human being would find out her secret, Kumori knew that she would not be treated the same. Everyone would know her by name. She just couldn't let that happen.
Kumori really hoped that she would make some new friends and not have too many nervous breakdowns throughout the course of Ria High School. Both high hopes and doubts began to stir in her stomach, boiling her blood. She took a deep breath and finally approached the android, Lilith.
"Welcome to Ria High School please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID."
As soon as Lilith finished those words, Kumori almost hesitated. She was so nervous, she had forgotten where she put her acceptance letter. Left pocket? Right pocket? Bag? Oh no, she thought. Turning her head around, she saw that there was a big line forming behind her. She hated being in the front of a long line, because she always felt like she'd wasted so many people's time by not getting the job done.
"Welcome to Ria High School please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID." It said again.
A few people began shouting to hurry up. Kumori scattered through all of her pockets and zippers for a minute, and finally found the note. It was tucked in between two CD cases (Flyleaf's "Memento Mori" and Mindless Self Indulgence's "If") in the small pocket of her bag.
"Here you go." She handed the note to the android, trying to control her shaking arm. In an instant, Lilith handed her a sheet to sign on all the lines marked by an X. When she signed it and gave it back, the android handed Kumori her ID.
"Have a great first day." Lilith spoke in a monotone voice. It really bothered Kumori, that she had to get her ID from a robot. And when she peered down at the card, the android had secretly taken a picture of her when she didn't know. It still looked good, but she would have liked to know that she was already getting a shot.
"Hey, hurry up over there!" Someone shouted angrily. Kumori gasped and quickly grabbed her stuff and made room for the next person to get their ID. She didn't even take the time to zip up her bag so her CDs wouldn't fall out. Being in such a hurry, she tripped on somebody's foot and came crashing on the thin carpeted floor.
Why am I such a clutz? She mumbled to herself quietly, gathering the stuff she dropped. One of her CD cases had a crack in it, making Kumori feel like an idiot for not taking her time.

At point B: School gates.

At point A: A goddamn princess.

Get from point A to point B.

There was no way in Hell she was going to ******** this up -- oh, and she knew Hell. She knew Hell, the Temporal Vacuum, like how she knew how many fingers were on her hands. That feeling of being suspended in a supernova, the feeling of having her body being ripped to shreds in an instant while she was kept alive and frozen in that instant for an unfathomable length... She knew what she was talking about when she said there was no way in Hell she was going to mess it up.

So why was it so hard?

The lovely silks of the dress Raid bought for her brushed against fine, flawless skin. The split-front style allowed her to move freely in the antiquity of fashion known as the Victorian Bustle Dress -- Reloaded. It showed off her thigh-high black boots and two silver stiletto heels.

Looking at her legs, it was a little hard to believe that such a slender person could possess such muscular thighs and calves. These were legs that mastered the reverse roundhouse kick in doubletime. Those were heels that ended the fertility of many men with all the scruples of a tarantula.

So why was it so hard for her to take a step forward?

The acceptance letter was in her hand, slightly crumpled with her nerves. Being human meant human emotions. It was terribly difficult... no wonder humans were such strange, feisty folk. It really took one to know one. She didn't just step into a human's shoes, she went the whole nine yards and landed herself a body.

A deep breath. One step.

Her silver heels, installed with sweet little bells, rang like crystal chimes whenever they were moved. She had a terrible sense of direction for someone who directed the conduction of interspatial traffic in her past life. Raid had her heels custom-designed with chimes so he'd be able to find her -- like a bell on a cat's collar.

Another deep breath. One more step.

Long, white hair illuminated with the brilliance of silver and sun whipped about like a banner in the wind. Such irony... the proud, peerlessly beautiful flag that marked her existence had to be white. The red hair that once earned her the name of 'Bloody Mary' was stripped from her along with her authority. She was left with a lion's insatiable ego and a mane that said 'I surrender'. Those old geezers really knew what they were doing when they wrote out her punishment.

Deep breath again. Third step now.

Where was she now? Where was the fiery, unequivocally arrogant goddess that destroyed world upon world? The horror of the Multiverse? The Noble among Nobles?

"Welcome to Ria High School please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID."

It sounded like a gunshot when she slammed her hand down on the counter and laid down the wrinkled remnants of what used to be fine parchment. Her expressions showed none of her distress... nor did her eyes. She simply looked like she did not know her own strength. It was no great feat to keep her newly acquired emotions concealed at all times... but it often caused severe misunderstandings, leading to terrible, terrible brawling and the intervention of local authorities.

A deep sigh.

Raid said that all the paperwork had been taken care of, so it was just the ID to retrieve. She had no birth certificate, no place in society, no identity... After months of complication, they finally managed to fix it all. If it wasn't there, forge it. End of problem. Eh... End of THAT PARTICULAR problem.

Here's the other problem: Even after months of time in her new body, she still wasn't used to having a heart. It beat continuously, constantly annoying her. Being alive was so difficult... but that wasn't even the worst part.

The kicker: She was going to be alive. Forever. Ria High was just step one.

"I want to die..."

Hidden Confusion

PostPosted: Sun Nov 29, 2009 11:33 am

After waiting a few minutes in the line Alexander went up to the robot. He was a little nervous but he didnt show it. Then he saw his finger was becoming invisible. He freaked out inside. Alexander tried to control but he couldn't. He pulled out his gloves and put them on hoping that nobody would notice. After handing the android his letter he got his ID in a few seconds. He pulled off his glove and sighed as his finger was back to normal. Then Alexander started walking when he noticed that a girl had fallen. He walked up to her and said "Hey are you okay?"

Kumori blushed and looked up at the person who had seen her fall.
"Yes, I'm okay. Thank you." She stood up and put the bag on her shoulder once it had been zipped up.
"Sorry, I'm just kind of new here, I don't know anybody." Her grey eyes didn't give much contact to the other person, but anybody could tell that she was trying to look serious. Kumori just looked so shy and small, as to a mouse surrounded by 50 hungry cats.

Before the guy said anything else, Kumori waved goodbye to him and rushed out of the area. She needed to find another place to roam, a place where she felt more comfortable. Not knowing when class would begin, Kumori began to explore the school, to get to know the place a little more on her first day. Maybe it would calm her nerves a little.

Kirai was bored. And he was waiting.
Which only seemed to succeed in making both time and boredom an immeasurable experience. He wondered how long it would be until sunset?
The sun seemed to be lazing about, sitting contently in a sky dotted with dark clouds.
He remembered that either an hour or two ago it had been twelve, so if shadows were slightly agnled away from their bases, it would probably mean..
Kirai looked over at the small dish-fountain that was sitting in the middle of the yard, and took a glance at its shadow. It seemed to tilt slightly, which caused him to presume it was 1-1:30. Or somewhere in that vicinity.
"Perhaps I should go train somewhere..."
He wondered if he had waited long enough before punishing the demons he controlled again. He considered what he might summon this time.
"Perhaps a few blade harpies, a water ogre, a couple of Sanasara..."
Kirai didn't know what to say next. He felt an incredibly strange aura float by him, spreading slowly into the area.
He looked around quickly, wondering what could possibly posess something so...dark, within them. Perhaps it was a demon, and if it was, he HAD to have this one. He flicked his wrist aside, and his Scroll shot out, lengthening and becoming stiff again.
But Kirai couldn't believe it. It was only a girl. Nothing strange about her, besides her unusually pale and silky skin.
He sighed softly, and his scroll slithered back into his sleeve. He hopped up simply and landed in one of the lower branches of a tree.
'I need to study her. Maybe it's just a lie.'
When she entered the gates of Ria, and walked over to the Student ID booth, he relaxed slightly.
'She's a student. Hmm.'
Kirai wondered who she could possibly be. Either way, he didn't feel any aggression from her.
Until he heard her nearly break the ID desk presenting her acceptance letter. He couldn't help but laugh heartily at how strong she was for such a petite girl.
He fell out of the tree by accident, but was able to catch himself with a hand-stand. He flipped backwards and rolled to a standing position, and dusted himself off. He waited calmly until Raid had left the ID booth, before he approached her calmly.
"And where might you be from?"
He grinned slightly, in an almost cocky manner.

She smiled shyly. "Oh, well, don't worry too much about it..." Amelia's smile fell as he walked away. Was that okay? Did I seem okay? I'm so awkward... She looked down slowly at her feet and kicked the ground, coughing when a cloud of dirt rose to her face. Wiping her face vigorously, she looked back up with a slight scowl.

Really, even though her parents were just trying to protect her by keeping in the house for over half of her life, it seemed more like a cruel joke to her right now. She really hadn't minded it too much at the time considering she didn't know anything else, but now that she was supposed to actually interact with outsiders for the first time in her life she was terrified. Did her parents think they could protect her forever? Amelia felt tears forming. She sniffed and wiped her eyes dry with her sleeve.

Speaking of her sleeve, she looked over what she had chosen to wear today. A loose-fitting light grey t-shirt, baggy worn-out jeans, sheepskin boots and a pale blue fleece jacket. She tugged on the white beanie sitting on her bright blonde hair, which was left down and flat. She didn't look very nice, but this was another result of being kept inside the house and away from media (where she could've seen new fashions) and shopping for herself (her parents bought her clothes). She sniffed again. She felt like it was too late for her to be part of society sometimes.

"Thanks for helping me there. I probably would have waited there for quite a while had you not told me that." Amelia jumped, letting out a loud squeak of surprise and her head shot back up to look at the boy she had helped. "..." Amelia opened her mouth but no words came out. This isn't the time to brood, Amelia! Respond! A voice inside her head screamed. She internally winced and closed her mouth slowly. The boy would probably think she was broken. Really, that wouldn't be an outrageous assumption considering the type of students around the campus. She could easily be a cyborg or android in need of repair. Her mouth opened slowly once again.

"It's no problem, really. Just trying to help!" She said in a shaky voice, laughing nervously. When he said his name, she stared blankly at him. "Shi...ma...hama...ru?" Her brow furrowed. "...That's not English, is it?" She asked with a quizzical expression. Shima will be easier to remember than Shimaha... ...whatever it was. That was a pretty stupid statement though... She frowned slightly, still staring at him. A few awkward seconds passed. Was she supposed to say something? She looked to the left and then the right. Should I... introduce myself back...? She narrowed her eyes a bit. What was her name again? "..." She made a face before speaking in a faint voice. "...Amelia." Of course, the wind blew past right as she spoke, so it blocked out her voice. Brushing the hair out of her flustered face, she cleared her throat before trying again. "I-I'm Amelia. Amelia Stephanos."

((Just in case you don't know, this is the first time Amelia's talked to a person since she was 6 other than her parents and the taxi driver from my first post. She's such an awkward child LOL))

ScrIIIICH.

Whoever got her that sword needed to take it away from her. Rampant was half out of its sheath, eager to taste some real blood when she shook her head vigorously and pushed the modified tachi back into the scabbard. It was a beautifully crafted Dominus weapon -- a Lord weapon, one of the highest class and forged with souls -- with a pure white blade and guardpiece. The hilt had a core of iron thrust through a giant chunk of carved and buffed fire amber. The grip was made of solid ivory with a golden lion pouncing on the pommel.

For a tachi, it had a rather short hilt. Regulus rarely put two hands on her blade. Even when she had startled, her left hand was what grabbed the sword and her right hand only now lowered from its out-reaching stance. It was crystal clear, from the way that she had moved, that she had some sort of a style.

"Ah..."

Straightening herself, Regulus desperately fought to regain some dignity. She still had emotions even if her face failed to express them to justice, if at all, for that matter. At the moment, she felt heat rush up her neck, threatening to make her face flush. It was all she could do to force the temperature right down her throat and swallow it like nasty-tasting cough syrup.

Being human was so hard.

Her hair continued to thrash for a few moments longer before it returned to floating about in the air in peace, flicking around to inspect the man that stood before her so boldy. If her hair had a nose, it would be at the tips, twitching and sniffing around the man's shoulder and ears. Regulus reached out at it without breaking her steady eye contact with the stranger and pulled the nuisance back, flipping it behind her as if it were completely natural for hair to have a life of its own.

Reiterating: Being human was so hard.

"H... hello."

She swallowed, audibly gulping -- barely audible, but audible all the same. That perfect, doll like face and her flawless stance of pure grace did nothing to betray her feelings... but leave it to her hair... her beautiful, gravity-defying, disobedient long hair to reach out in the direction of her departing father/son (wtf) figure like a hand of anguish and desperation, as if to say, "Raid... Don't leave me!"

If it weren't below her dignity to face-palm, she would have, right there and then.

He asked her a question. How was she supposed to answer it? She was from a lot of places. For instance, the Multiverse. Now NOTHING was bigger and more general than the Multiverse. What's bigger than EVERY DIMENSION? Gosh, she couldn't just tell him THAT. He'd label her a nutter.

"Erm... I'm..." A cough. "I'm from... New Hampshire..."

Think fast, Regalia! Was that a country? A state? What's the capital? Who's the mayor?

Once again: Being human was so hard... and it was only Day 1.
