Bleach Elites is ancient. Gotei Elites is relatively new.
They're more or less stuck in a rut like we all are though as far as I can tell. Gotei Elites definitely tried to move in a positive direction but I don't think they'll survive much longer.
All these Elites, they're making me dizzy. gonk
I wonder if all Bleach guilds are having troubles like we have.
I'd say we're facing about four problems as RPers collectively.
1: Our standards are very high compared to a lot of guilds. I don't think we should lower them but we should always be aiming to push people to think about how they can grow personally. We're debating this one constantly and how to achieve it.
2: We focus to heavily on ranking as the only form of reward. A strong story should in a way be its' own reward and yet we've not thought properly about giving people the devices to do this. The old 'post a few threads and hope people make some conversations in them' isn't working and the idea of PRPs is so doomed that we've got to find a way to create a living and breathing world. I've got plans though for this one.
3: We're focusing on powers before characters. If you look at a lot of RPs the characters are defined by their powers and not the powers by their characters. The idea for a character should come first always or at least be able to stand alone as equal or greater to the powers created for them. There was a real concious effort to do this.
4: We're obsessed with canon. This is an awful move. Always. An RP guild should be self serving rather than serve the thing it's based off of. We've already veered so far off the track that to say 'That's not canon' is often completely pointless now. It's why we're trying to add more customisation to the abilities your character can have and why we shifted the time frame. Effectively so we can escape the binds of any old canon.
