"Well then if you are ready for this battle then lets get started! Go Staryu!" The swimmer laughed as he let the Staryu out onto the field. The star shaped pokemon waved its stiff little arms around as it faced off against the entergetic Aipom. "Ladies first."

"Humph, don't underestimate me just because I am a girl. Luffy lets start off like always, Fake Out!" Robin was still upset that she had fell in the pool, she was sure that she looked stupid with her mascara running to. Loving doing his first and favorite move Luffy just laughed and launched himself forward. The speedy Aipom landed right in front of the star and with a grin he flicked it right in its glowing center jewel.

"Fake Out, I hate that move." The swimmer muttered as he watched helplessly as his pokemon stumbled back slightly the center gem blinking in irritation.

"Haha great job Luffy, lets follow that Fake Out with your new move. Lets show them our trust in each other! Return!" The moment Robin said it she felt a warmth surge inside of her. It had to be the best feeling she had ever felt, she could feel the strength of their bond and it was wonderful. On the field Luffy glowed a bright red color, he could also feel the strength of there bond and grinning at the power of the bond he felt with Robin he unleashed his attack on the Staryu.

When the other pokemon felt the attack it flew back landing a few paces back. It just showed that the bond between Robin and Luffy was strong. "Wow that was an impressive Return. It is our turn now though! Staryu use Bubble!" The star pokemon picked itself up and even though it was wounded the water type pokemons center gem glowed and suddenly streams of bubbles came out of it headed right for Luffy.

"I know you can take that attack Luffy so just bust through it and lets show them the power of our bond again!" Robin didn't know what it was but she wanted to feel the warm power once more.

M.A. sneezed, a high-pitched sound.

"Bless you! Sorry, girlie, it's getting later and the wind's a bit chilly up here," the lavender-haired Rein apologized, sitting right in front of her on her huge hump of a Tropius. Saebum had decided that Mary-Anne should sit in the middle of the two; even though Rein's Tropius was a very smooth (and somewhat slow) ride, Sae somehow did not doubt that his sister would steal a few more years off his life by falling. Her brother took off his big hoodie and slipped it over her back; the girl wrapped it around herself gratefully.

The ride to Lilycove was uneventful, and the air around them was so quiet it could have been cut with a knife. On board the Tropius, however, was a different matter; pleasantly idle conversation rolled through. Sometime during the flight, M.A. distinctly felt her brother going through her messenger bag (which was behind her), and shot him a questioning look. "I'm returning to you the stuff you left at the hotel." She distinctly saw a little container of pills, a red PokeDex -- "we updated it for you," Rein quipped in -- and her cell phone. Oh, wow, she hadn't even noticed she'd left those things.

"You know, you shouldn't go through a girl's bag," M.A. said accusingly, but was unable to stop her brother with these words.

"What? You hidin' something?"

"..."

"Oh, my, when did you become a woman?"

"SAEBUM!" M.A. cried, her face turning red.

Rein laughed, turning herself around completely so she was facing M.A. Her Tropius was quite capable of handling herself, you see. "Don't be so mean to my to-be-sister-in-law, or I'll have to..." A dirty look came into her eyes, and M.A. could see impure intentions in her smile. They were very much in the honeymoon stage of their relationship.

M.A. groaned. "Please... Have mercy."

"Go get me his Pokemon!" Karen barked to one of the guards, who ran off down the hall to retrieve them. She ran her hands gently through Mike's hair. "Shhh, it's okay baby. No one took your Pokemon away. I'll just hold onto them for a while alright? Just like all the others." She forced a smile as her son whimpered in her arms. "But I'm here, and so is Proton. Look!" The Magneton hovered down to the boy and spun his magnets, buzzing happily. "Magne! Magne!"

"Oh Proton!" Mike cried, latching onto his Pokemon like a Caterpie curled around a branch. "I missed you so much! I promise you're going right back in my team when I get out of here, right back! I'll train you just like old times! Maybe we'll even fight a Gym battle together!" Proton bobbed up and down at the offer. He enjoyed spending time at home with Karen, but nothing was as exciting as traveling with his trainer.

"You see that honey?" Karen said with an actual smile. "He'd love to."

"G-good!" replied Mike, letting go of him/it. "We'll have a lot of fun, j-just like old times! He-heh, heh!" He giggled nervously and turned to his mother. "M-mom, a-anything else happen at home with my Pokemon?" He weakly reached for her face like a newborn, Karen had to hold back her tears. It was hard to see her son like this. It was like he was dying.

"Yes sweetie," she said softly, gently playing with his hair. "Titanium is a sweetheart as always. He always tries to help out around the house but he's just too big." She laughed. "One time, he tried to help me set the table, and almost tore the kitchen wall down trying to fit through the door. He gets so sad when I tell him he can't help, it's cute. Xanthos calmed down once I showed him who was the boss. He's not jumping up and down to help me like Titanium, but its a start."

"Xanthos is so stubborn..." Mike said weakly.

"Mmhm. And sweetie, Camerae is just precious. I fill the sink next to me when I do the dishes, and the little guy hops in an splashes around while I work around the kitchen. I almost don't want you to train him because I'm sure he won't be as adorable when he evolves!" She chuckled and smiled weakly before continuing. "Powalski is a bit of a handful, but if he gets too rambunctious Titanium is always there to settle him down. Kenny, like always is just kinda there. He floats in every once and a while to stare at me and try to say something, but I can't understand a damn thing he says." She shrugged, looking down at her boy.

"A-about Kenny," Mike started, shifting uncomfortably in his straight jacket.

"Yes dear?"

"I-I want you to give him to K-Keegan."

"Keegan? But why sweetie? You boys trading Pokemon?"

Mike laughed weakly. "I don't think he's going to want to do anything with me for a while, not after yesterday." He sat in silence for a moment before continuing. "Think of it as a gesture of good-will. I said some mean things to him yesterday."

"Alright sweetie. Anything else?"

"Yeah, I want to give Beacon and Felsic a bit of a vacation. And I know I just brought him back in, but Shiver too. I want Titanium and Proton back. Camerae too." He smiled at Proton, excited at the thought of training him again. "I hope you're ready buddy."

"Maaagneeton!" Proton replied, his screws and magnets spinning around rapidly. He was more than ready.

Mike once again smiled, returning to his mother's embrace. He sighed as he buried his bloodied face in her lap. "Mom...I miss dad."

Karen couldn't hold it back anymore. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she squeezed her baby boy right. "Me too sweetie, me too."

"Mrs. Kyoka?" Dr. Rogers stepped in. "I'm sorry for interrupting, but we have Michael's Pokemon right here." He handed her his backpack, but in the exchange it fell to the ground and spilled open. Dozens of picture of Flannery and Mike's Team Magma uniform came flying out.

Karen's eyes focused on the uniform. "Sweetie...what is thi-"

"AAAGH!" Mike screamed, lurching out of his mother's lap and frantically moving to the other side of the room. "GET IT AWAY FROM ME! GET IT ALL AWAY FROM ME!" His chest heaved in and out as he breathed erratically. One of the pictures drifted over to him, landing face up beside the boy. "No!" He frantically exhaled towards the picture, hoping to flip it over before it could remind him. Too late. It was a picture of Flannery he had taken years ago, when she had tried a new hairstyle: a low ponytail with two symmetrical long bangs down the side of her face. She hated how it looked, but Mike thought it was cute and snapped a shot of it before she could stop him. Mike fell limp to the ground beside the picture and wept. "Why did you leave me when I needed you the most? I'm not a bad guy...please...I love you...
I love you...I love you...I love you...I love you..."

"Idiot!" Karen gathered up the remaining pictures and stuffed everything in the bag, shooting an angry look at the doctor. "I thought you were a professional!" Proton hovered around the man, buzzing harshly and crackling with electricity.

"I'm sorry, it was an accident!" Dr. Rogers snapped back defensively. "Get this Magneton away from me!"

"Nevermind!" She turned back to her son and knelt down. "It's alright honey. I won't pester you about the stuff in your bag until you're ready to tell me alright? No one thinks you're a bad guy here!" She went to give him a reassuring pat on the head, but was startled by him slowly rising up.

"I'm sorry." he said calmly, his eyes clear despite his previous crying. "Was the little baby bothering you?" He turned to Karen, eyebrows raised in curiosity.

"E-excuse me honey? I don't understand."

"Ah, I see. Then you didn't believe them when the good doctor told you about me."

"That's the change!" Dr. Rogers said, pointing at the boy. "That's Milo!"

"Some privacy please?" replied Milo. "I'd like some time to talk with my...mother. Now." Surprised, the doctor quickly exited and shut the door behind him. "Excellent, now where were we, Karen is it? Ah yes, I remember now."

"You're losin' me sweetie." Karen drew a shaking hand through her hair, not wanting to believe what she was seeing.

"Spare me from your parental garbage, please." retorted Milo, his tone dripping with annoyance. "Having to listen to that baby's angst is bad enough." He looked at Karen intently, who only stood there speechless. "Yes, he's right. Your son is a deeply disturbed boy. And before you ask how we know what he said about us, his window was open and so was mine. The people who run this place are complete idiots."

"M-Milo is it?" Mrs. Kyoka hesitantly asked. "Where is my baby boy?"

"He's tucked in nice and tight where he belongs. He had a very stressful day, to be honest I'm surprised he lasted this long before..."

"Before what?"

"Snapping completely." Milo replied. "It's so funny, because he thinks all this happened to him by some outside force when it was his own stupid fault for getting involved with that girl. Then again, if it weren't for his twisted feelings for that little palm tree then I probably wouldn't be here." He bobbed his head from side to side as he thought about that last statement before going back to his little rant. "So, thanks for that, palm tree."

Karen was now officially concerned. At first she thought it was just her son being silly, but there was no way Mike would ever speak like that, especially not about Flannery. He loved her far too much to say that. "Don't worry baby!" she grabbed Milo by the shoulders and raised her voice. "I'm going to get you out of here!"

"Um, ow? Loud."

"All you need is a good rest and some chicken noodle soup!" She bit her lip. Karen was never aware of how troubled her baby boy was. He'd always been so happy all the time. If he'd only spoken up, she could have helped him! "I'm going to leave now honey, but I'll be back soon alright?"

"Yeah, sure whatever. Stop yelling in my face please." Milo blinked harshly, wishing he had a free hand to cup over his ears.

Karen stood up and motioned for Proton to follow. She knocked on the door. "I'm ready to come out now." Dr. Rogers greeted her outside. "So..." Mrs. Kyoka began. "What's the official diagnosis?"

"So far we're thinking mania, dissociative personality disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder, but we're not ruling out the possibility of paranoid schizophrenia and psychosis." Karen had to sit down as Dr. Rogers listed off all the syndromes and ailments plaguing her son. "I'm sorry ma'am, I know this must be stressful for you."

"I just had no idea..." Karen said in disbelief. "I had no idea."

"Oh god," Whitney groaned, as she and the others materialized back in Cerulean City, outside of the Pokemon Center, "I'm never going to get used to that nauseating feeling... urrrp." She sat on the ground, holding her head in her hands. Nina heard what Whitney was saying, but didn't really listen to her. "This is great," she said to Sabrina and Oracle, "not only was Maorde not there, but instead we came across a more fearsome enemy who seemed equally hellbent on killing us. And then, it got away. Can you imagine what it would be like to have a Pokemon like that for your partner? Can you imagine the things he's seen, the things he's gone through? Part of me wishes we could have captured him... we could have maybe shown him some of the companionship that he appeared to be lacking, or show him that all humans aren't as bad as he believes them to be." Sabrina looked at her sister with an expression of ambivalence. She almost sounded like one of those scientists at first, she thought. "Well girls, it looks like we're right back where we started. Let's not even worry about what just happened. All that we can do for right now is just heal up our Pokemon-- god knows that they were hurt badly enough-- and just try to think of where Maorde could possibly be." Helping Whitney up and recalling Oracle into his Pokeball, the girls headed into the Pokemon Center, giving their Pokeballs to Nurse Joy. They waited in the dormitory in the meantime.

Noticing several maps on the walls, Sabrina approached one, it being of the Kanto region. "If we have to, we're going to look in every remote location in this region and the others," she said, a stern tone to her voice. "Cerulean Cave is ruled out. Nina, I know that you've already been inside of Mt. Moon, so we can rule that area out as well... hmm. What about the Game Corner? It has all the makings for a perfect hideout: it was used recently, so it still has a lot of the Rocket's technology left in it. Because of the fact that the previous inhabitants were driven out of it, nobody would have any reason to question that activities were being conducted down there. It's also hidden so perfectly because of the fact that it's right in one of the busiest towns in the region." She looked to her companions.
Whitney nodded. "Makes sense enough to me." Nina agreed. "Shall we get going, then?" Leaving the dormitory, their new destination in mind, Nina and the others collected their Pokemon and stepped outside.

Is this just a wild Zangoose chase? she thought to herself. What if Maorde's not even in this region? Or Johto for that matter? How long will it take us to--

"OH MY GOD HE'S RUNNING ERRANDS! GET HIM!" Whitney exclaimed, as Maorde came walking out of the Poke Mart, unaware of their presence-- at least, until the girl hollered. "Maorde!" Sabrina called, "Freeze!" Extending her arm out in a similar fashion to Mewtwo, it glowed purple, and an aura of the same color formed around Maorde's body as she held him in place, and turned him around to face them all. Her eyes were angry.

Maorde's jaw fell to the ground. "S... Sabrina," he managed. "How are you alive? You were killed!" She laughed. "No, I was attacked. There's quite the difference. I've been keeping tabs on you for a very long time, Maorde." She transformed into her Vanessa moniker for a few moments, smiling, and then reverted back to normal. It was in that moment when Maorde showed fear, for the first time ever. "What do you want from me?" he asked. She smiled again. "I want to play a game. The rules of the game are simple: You're going to fight Nina and Whitney, right now. Don't hold back; you've never had any problem in doing so before. Do your best to defeat them and I shall spare your life. If you try anything funny, I guarantee that you will regret it." She paused for a moment. "Girls, get your Pokeballs."

Releasing him from her hold,
Maorde drew two Pokeballs of his own, and his fear dissipated. "You've made a terrible mistake, Sabrina," he commented. "You've just signed these girls' lives away." He winked to Nina, who was finally feeling brave. She wasn't afraid of him any longer.

And then, four Pokemon exploded onto the field.

"Mrs. Kyoka," Dr. Rogers continued, opening Mike's file once again. "We recommend to put him on anti-psychotics and heavy suicide watch supervision immediately. This here is the safest location we can provide him, but as you saw earlier, he is under extreme emotional distress and prone to outbursts."

Karen nodded, her eyes fixed on the wall beside the doctor. "I know, he's just...he really loves his Pokemon, and when you took them away, it really hurt him." She still had a hard time accepting that was really her son in there. "It's going to be difficult for him to deal with them not being around at all times."

"We will be here to provide Michael the very best counseling, ma'am." he said with a reassuring smile. "Who knows, if we're lucky, we might be able to get him stable and out of here before you know it." Dr. Rogers knew it was very unprofessional to make promises like that, but seeing that boy in there so defeated, so pathetic, it broke his heart. "The best thing for you right now will be to go home and get some rest. We'll call you in a few days to tell you how he's doing and schedule a follow-up appointment."

"Alright, thank you." Karen said weakly, motioning for Proton to follow as she turned and walked away. The two strode in silence as they left the mental ward, the Magneton droning quietly to himself, turning around every once and a while as if to expect Mike walking behind him. She put up the defeated mother act until the doctor was out of earshot. "Pfft, out of here before you know it." She scoffed at the very idea. "That idiot isn't going to do diddly s**t for my baby." It would seem Mrs. Kyoka would have to take matters into her own hands. She was not about to let her only son rot away in some nut-house when all he needed was some tender love and care. She didn't care about Milo or whatever the hell his name was. Boys went through phases, some children even had imaginary friends. This must have been something like that, it would pass. "How dare they take away his Pokemon..." she grumbled, her work shoes clicking loudly on the floor as she stomped her way towards the exit. Her baby wouldn't last long in a place like this. Mike was a special boy with needs. He needed praise, compliments and hugs. He needed to be outside, living life to the fullest, training to be a Pokemon master, making friends and enjoying his youth, not spending it in some mad-house. He was supposed to be marrying Flannery. "If he's locked up, how will they make me lots and lots of adorable grandchildren dammit?!" Karen's train of thought only served to infuriate her more as she thought about Mike alone in his cell, bound and weeping for his love, his Pokemon, and his mother and father... "It's time we moved things to Plan B, Proton," Karen whispered to the Magneton as she pressed the button for the elevator. She had a few things stored nearby that would fix this little issue no problem.

"We're busting my baby out of here."
"Maaaagnee-toooooon."

"Knowing my luck it probably will!" Keegan shouted after Jaeshan as he walked away, completely forgetting that they were supposed to go and have lunch. The redhead turned back to Riza and the new blonde guy who'd joined them, eying him in a suspicious manner as he had a long drag of his cigarette. He had no idea who he was or what he was even doing there, and as much as Keegan wanted to say something to him for interrupting, he chose to let it slide and just ignore him for now. "Well, regardless," he shrugged, also choosing to ignore Riza's comment about his current physical condition, "I'm glad you're all right. Things got pretty rough out here last night, and I'd hate to see something bad happen to you." It wasn't until he'd already said it that he realized just how unlike him the statement truly was. He closed his eyes and sighed, the events of yesterday rushing back to him nearly all at once. Everything had happened so fast, yet at the time, it felt like it all dragged on for hours. He could clearly remember each punch and blow he'd taken, and feel the pavement grating against his skin every time he hit the ground. He shouldn't have gone over there. He should have just gotten the hell outta Dodge the moment things turned ugly. But no, he had to stay. He had to stay for her. Without thinking or even opening his eyes Keegan had quickly walked over to a tree, the branches shaking slightly overhead as his fist slammed into the trunk of it. A few stray leaves floated down around him and he sighed, looking back to Riza. "So... I'm thinking lunch. What do you say?" he asked casually, the question clearly directed at the raven-haired girl and as though the knuckles of his right hand weren't bleeding profusely.
=====
Neither Miharu nor Aska were expecting the Granbull to rush through the Twister just like that and the Pidgeotto couldn't do much to avoid the oncoming Headbutt. The bird clicked her beak indignantly and glanced back at her trainer, waiting for a command.

Miharu thought for a quick moment and closed her eyes. "Sand-Attack," she said finally. It would be hard for the Granbull to attack or dodge if it was having vision troubles. Aska cooed lightly before she flew up into the air, then dived at the ground, spreading her wings wide to kick up a thick cloud of dust and sand from the floor.

Crenu didn't like the way the red haired guy was looking at him, though in truth he was looking back at him the same way. He liked the way he looked at Riza even less though, it may have been his imagination but he felt a little something further there when the guy invited her to lunch. Now that he thought about it, Riza was pretty quick to run over to this guy when he'd been toppled over by his pokemon...and then it struck him. Heh, so that's how it is. It shouldn't have, it should have been perfectly fine, but the very idea pissed him off. Well well, way to go. Here you are now getting hurt and pissed off over some tart you just met and her boyfriend. You're definitely on the fast track to the top lettign yourself get distracted like this. See what happens when you try and make friend? You get all these useless emotions clouding your judgement and hindering your progress, you shoulda learned that after getting involved with those first two brats. Companions are just anchors that drag you down. That's right, what the hell was he trying to make friends for anyway? Especially ones that gave him crap for his meathods and way of thinking. All trying to play well with others had gotten him was a new scar to match the one he'd gotten during his last moment of weakness and a set of irrational thoughts and feelings that had him feeling like crap. I was happier as a loner anyway...or at least better off. There was doubt in that last thought of his, but that didn't change what he felt now. He looked over at the red head and noticed him bleeding from his knuckles, a little smirk appearing on his face. "I say you're a dumbass, just like that friend of yours that got the s**t kicked outta him by that Rocket boss. Almost destroyed all his friends for his girlfriend or whatever, load a crap that was." He was sure that if what they had said was true, then it had been greed that caused it all to go down, not love. Crenu turned away and flicked the cigarette in some random direction, slowly heading for where he suspected the port to be. "Enjoy your lunch, I've got a badge to win." Snorunt appeared to protest leaving the nice girl and the strange red head, but Crenu recalled her to her pokeball where she wouldn't bother him.

Just like before Robin felt the warmth confidence of her and Luffy's bond rush through her. This had to be the best attack ever, she watched in a sort of dreamy haze as Luffy smashed his tail into the Staryu again. Luffy was about to land on his feet again, for some reason he loved to make all of his attacks aerial, when the Staryu came spinning towards him in a Rapid Spin. Apparently it was ready this time and it was on its counter attack already. The small Aipom grit its teeth as he was hit right in the stomach.Tumbling back he caught himself and stared at the star with a determined look on his face. He did not like those pointy stars digging into him! "I hope you are ok Luffy, because we are going to keep going! Lets go for your Astonish attack!" Robin remembered reading somewhere that Staryu, or maybe its evolution were part psychic. Of course it wasn't Staryu but hey points for her remembering something like that.

"Staryu dodge that Astonish and use your Rapid Spin again!" The swimmer shouted from his half. He was impressed with this Aipoms power, he had seen a few in his life but never one this strong. Most trainers didn't raise them because they just weren't the strongest pokemon ever. At his trainers command the Staryu picked itself up off of the ground spinning already to come dodge the Astonish and come around for another Rapid Spin.

Luffy's eyes went wide as he missed but he quickly shook it off and looked up as the Staryu came hurtling towards him. "Luffy use Brick Break! Smash that Staryu back to the ground!" Robin called from the sides. Luffy couldn't even look over to thank her for the advice unless he wanted to get hit. Jumping up into the air at just the right time to dodge the attack he slammed a glowing tail down on the Staryu smashing the pokemon down onto the ground.

On the ground the Staryu's gem flickered a few times as it tried to push itself up before falling down and the gem going out. "Wow that is one impressive Aipom you have there girl." The swimmer said as he recalled his pokemon. "Well, you beat me fair and square. Unfortunately Misty isn't here right now, she is busy watching the contest a few doors down. I am just watching the gym to let everyone else know that she will be back when it finishes."

Robin just pouted slightly, she was still dripping wet and a bit bitter at the man. "Yeah well... Thanks I guess. Don't scare anymore people." She muttered. Looking down at Luffy she smiled slightly, the Aipom was hurt but he was still grinning up at her. "All right lets get you to the pokemon center. Then we can see if that contest is over. We still have to meet up with Sarah and Jayme." That said they headed out of the gym into the darkening Cerulean sky.

Kasiya only half-smirked at Mazarin as he passed her in the hallway, remembering just how nice he looked when he and his Murkrow were dodging fireballs and falling out of the sky. She wanted to say something but didn't, for civility's sake and instead just closed her eyes and leaned back against the wall, listening intently to the conversation between Mrs Kyoka and the doctor. She jumped up suddenly when she heard the scraping of chairs against the floor, knowing she couldn't run without looking suspicious so she just stayed put, trying to look nondescript. However, when the bespectacled woman glared down at her Kasiya inadvertently shrunk back against the wall, cheeks reddening from the scolding. It was pretty obvious that the girl wasn't used to getting in trouble like that. The electronic hum of the Magneton snapped her out of it and Kasiya looked up at him, smiling a little. Electric Pokemon always seemed to like her, though there was something familiar about this one. "Proton?" she questioned once she heard the Pokemon's name uttered, and she giggled and waved back at the Magneton. "She must be Mike's mother," she said, glancing down at Seto, who returned the statement with a flick of the ear and a look that clearly read 'no... really?!'

Kasiya waited until the adults plus one Magneton had turned down a corner before she followed after them, not wanting to receive another scolding like the one she'd just had a few moments ago. Seto's paws made no noise as he walked, tail swishing back and forth in a calm manner. It had been a while since the Persian had been in his trainer's party and in truth the feline was spoiling for a good fight. The duo's little expedition would be cut short though as a burly man wearing a security officer's uniform stopped her in her tracks, looking down at her and the cat, clearly unimpressed. "No unauthorized personnel beyond this point," he said in a gruff voice, shooing the girl and her Pokemon away.

"But my friend is back there," Kasiya protested, standing on tiptoe to try and see past the guard's shoulder. She caught a glimpse of Proton's uppermost magnet but the guard crossed his arms and glared at her. "Fine," Kasiya snapped, waving her arms in the air. "I'm going, I'm going. Stupid guard... go back to being a mall cop," she grumbled, prompting a little snicker from Seto.

Feeling useless and defeated, the girl walked dejectedly down the corridor, stopping leaning against one of the walls. A wave of sadness and guilt for not being able to help Mike washed over her and she slumped down to the floor, hugging her knees to her chest. "I can't do anything for him now," she whimpered, though she didn't cry. "He needs a friend, and I can't even get past that doughnut-eating police reject." Seto sat down beside her, gently nudging her good shoulder with his nose. As much as the feline wanted to, he couldn't think of anything to do to help, other than blasting the human blocking the door to that wing of the hospital with a Thunderbolt. On second thought, it seemed like a pretty good idea. The Persian's ears flattened against his head and a ripple of electricity crackled from the red gem in his forehead. "Seto, don't," Kasiya said sharply, without looking up. "If you attack him, they'll throw me into the cell right next to him... just long enough to arrest me and then throw me in jail for using my Pokemon to attack people." The Persian relaxed and Kasiya quickly called him back to her side, though thankful for his intent to help. She could always rely on her Pokemon to be there for her.

She stood up slowly, deciding it would be best if she just left. She didn't think she was very good at the whole 'knight in shining armor rushing off to rescue people' thing, that was something Mike had always done. She sure wished she knew how to help, and she sighed sadly as she headed for the stairs again - elevators scared the hell out of her. The droning of a familiar Magneton nearby caught her attention though, and she looked up in time to see Mrs Kyoka pressing the button for said elevator, Proton hovering nearby. Kasiya furrowed her brow but gathered her courage and headed towards the strange woman.

"Excuse me, uh, hi," she started, giving a small wave and doing her best to be polite and respectful. "You don't know me, but uh, I know your son, Mike. I w-was there at Slateport, when everything happened. I saw it all... how everyone abandoned him and just... just left." Despite the endless crying she'd done earlier another flood of tears started to stream down her face, though she didn't bother to wipe them away. "But me... I didn't leave him. I refused to... he's my best friend and I couldn't just walk away from him. He needs me and they-" she gestured towards the guard, "they wouldn't let me see him. I just... I want to help but I don't know how." She let out a defeated sigh, arms hanging limply at her sides. Slowly she looked up at Mrs Kyoka, fully expecting to be scolded and shooed away like a misbehaving child once again.

It didn't take long for Combusken to get fully healed and Jaeshan thanked the nurse politely as he accepted the Pokeball and clipped it onto his belt. He turned to head out of the Pokemon Center, but stopped and went back to the front desk. "Uh, excuse me," he said, waiting for the nurse to acknowledge him. "A friend of mine should come by here sometime soon and I was wondering if you could give this to him. It's his birthday today and he could use some cheering up." He set the HM02 case on the desk and slid it towards the pink-haired nurse. "Just tell him that he still has friends out there and that he should remember that."

"Sure, I can do that," she said, looking the item over and smiling. "This is a pretty rare HM. You must be a good friend."

"I try," Jaeshan said modestly, shrugging. "Anyway, my friend's name is Keegan, and he's got bright red hair and he looks like he just went ten rounds with Muhammad Ali. You can't miss him." He thanked the nurse and headed outside, very eager to leave dreary Slateport and all the drama behind him. If he remembered correctly a ferry would be leaving for Dewford soon and he fully intended on being on it.

Sakura and Clefairy appeared on the friendly side of the fight, while a Charizard towered over them, and a Dugtrio popped its heads up and down from the ground. Nina stood there, her pupils shrinking. Oh, fook me with something hard and sandpapery. "What's wrong, Nina?" Maorde asked, laughing. "You don't seem to be so brave now!" He had a hand on his hip, grinning. "You... shut the hell up! I'm going to show you what I'm capable of doing!" Pointing to Charizard, she hollered, "Sakura! He's our biggest threat at the moment-- use Sleep Powder!" Whitney knew they were in trouble already, but she had an idea. "Clefairy, I want you to use Metronome! I know it's a gamble, but it worked for Nina... Let's see what we can do here!" Maorde knew he already had the advantage. "There's no need to crush them already," he said. "Charizard, use Ember on that Bellossom! Even I can show some mercy. Dugtrio, let's try a Sand Tomb on Clefairy."

While Clefairy waggled her finger and concentrated, Sakura quickly breathed inward and then exhaled a spray of spores toward the massive Charizard, who in turn shot out a small stream of fire toward the smaller plant Pokemon. Both attacks struck; Charizard had fallen asleep, while Sakura was badly singed from the Ember attack. She survived, but she knew that just one more would already mean her end, despite the fact that that was one of the weakest Fire-type attacks. That said something about the Charizard's power. Meanwhile, Dugtrio had whipped up a small sandstorm and sent it towards Clefairy, who would have been struck and trapped by it for a little while, had she not finished her Metronome attack, which turned out to be Spark. Her body glowing yellow, Clefairy bum rushed the Charizard, jumping and slamming her body into his, zapping him with a bit of force. While it was nothing that could have caused him to be knocked out right away, it still dealt a respectable amount of damage.

"Phew," Nina said, "we made it through the first round." Whitney nodded. "Yeah. It can only get easier from here on out."

Sabrina stood in the background, her eyes entirely fixated on Maorde, who didn't even realize it.

"What do you want?" Karen barked as the blond girl found herself barging in on her buisness yet again, unaware of Proton's happy chiming beside her. She could only stand there confused as the girl burst into tears without warning. "Now wait just one minute, who ar-" Her rigid posture melted along with her anger as the girl mentioned her son. She said they were best friends. "My baby? You stood by my baby boy? Oh my goodness!" She grabbed the girl and pulled her into a hug, overjoyed that someone else in the world had her boy's best interests at heart.

Proton once again joined in the heartfelt festivities by floating over to the also familiar Persian and lightly curling his magnets around it. "Maagnee."

"I'm sorry for lecturing you, sweetie." Karen apologized. "You must have been through a lot, and I'm just stressed and...I'm sorry." This must have been one of the girls Mike had told her about. Was it Mitsu or Nina, she couldn't remember. Kasiya? No matter, she'd probably tell her soon enough. "Help? Help with what?" she chuckled nervously, wondering if she had overheard. "What you need is a good night's rest, honey. I'll think of something to get my baby out." She smiled and pat the girl's head. "But I really appreciate you being there for him. My son is lucky to have friends like you." She must like him, Karen thought. A mother always knows.

Quickly going through the pokemon center, Robin didn't want to get caught in the rain at all, even if she was still wet. At her side Luffy ran excitedly, he liked the rain but he would like to get healed. Lucky for them the Pokemon Center was really close to the Cerulean Gym. Going through the sliding doors Robin and Luffy grinned at each other before heading up to the counter. It was only the Chansey on the inside since Nurse Joy was still at the contest seeing that she was one of the judges. "Hello there Chansey. Could you heal Luffy up for me? I am just going to go clean the makeup off from my face." She smiled as she plucked Luffy from the ground and put him on the counter.

Chansey just nodded a happy smile on her face as Robin ran off into the bathroom. Picking up the Aipom she smiled in a friendly manor and placed him on the tray. Pressing a few buttons on it she watched as the machine turned on lighting up under the Aipom.

Meanwhile in the bathroom Robin was doing her best to wash the trails of mascara under her eyes and over her cheeks. Looking in the mirror she allowed the smile on her face to go away. She was still feeling miserable about letting Luffy down. He wasn't mad at her but that didn't mean she wasn't disappointed in herself. Sighing she bit her bottom lip and worried it between her teeth, she was so pathetic. Luffy had been perfect, like always, she had been the one who messed up. As she thought about it she realized she was a failure as a trainer. Luffy was the one who took care of the team, he was the one who cheered everyone up, he was the one who everyone looked to for advice. Sniffling somewhat she forced a smile back on her face and walked out of the bathroom her face clean of makeup.

Annie merely tucked the ticket into her designer jeans. "That game didn't last nearly as long as it should have," she frowned, clearly bored now as the diva took his leave. She licked her lower lip, he really wasn't that bad. But she was never one to give out too much credit, especially for ego boosting.

"Heh. The ever-beautiful Ms. Sinclair bored?" a voice asked tauntingly. "Perhaps I can provide you with some tasteful information?" The voice spoke with both malice and it dripped with temptation. "Of course for a price my dear Annie," it added a moment later; a dark grin could be seen if she were to turn around.

Annie laughed, this time the voice crackled with malice. "Connor," she replied curtly, "You know how this works. Info first, my dear." She spun on her Prada heels, facing the man an unpleasant frown written all over her face.

"Fine, fine. You always were like this," he said waving his hand dismissively. "A little bird told me that, that girl you've been looking for, is coming to Sinnoh on that boat that takes off tomorrow," he smiled. "We've been friends for a long time Annie, but I still expect payment." He was quick to hold his hand out, a cold almost expressionless look on his face.

Annie's face contorted with sheer anger and pain and hurt and a million other emotions. She wanted to tear Connor apart, though the information he had provided was exactly what she'd been looking for. "Cut the little bird crap Connor, I know there was no 'bird,' it was you." She paused to grab a ball on her belt, "will a Carnivine suffice?"

"Yes ma`am," he replied taking the Pokeball before releasing his own Honchkrow and taking off, "Good doing business with you. This little birdie will be back dearest Annie." And with a wink he was of in the air, shrinking from her vision every second.

Recap: Since I haven't posted in a while, I feel it's necessary to recall what exactly I'm continuing. The following takes place the day before the beach party in the afternoon. Ky, is continuing his 3v3 battle with a band of Team Rocket "recruits" and are at the final round. There is a ranger and a little girl watching the battle as well. I believe my last post is on page 87. Enjoy!

"Go! Donnie!" Cassie cried out with a sudden, remarkable excitement, chucking the Pokeball she had in her hand with such speed you'd have thought she was trying to crack the ball open on the ground. It was as if the red energy that soon burst forth onto the battlefield was representative of her pent up impatience to finally battle, which was definitely reflected in the armored monster that soon stood its ground, bounding side-to-side, raking tuffs of grass out viciously with its tusks. "Unlike those two over there, I'm not going to hold back, brat. I told you this Donphan is my strongest and I'm not kidding. He'll tear that bird of yours out of the sky!" she said with a powerful glare, complete with her unfading smile.

Despite the unalterable grudge Ky had for the Rocket Recruit girl, he took her comment as a compliment, but heeded her warning. "Likewise; I never hold back," Ky said in response. Holding his hand out, he motioned for his last Pokemon to enter the fight. The Xatu stood perched on the nearby ATV, staring off into space as usual. "Alright Little Guy, let's finish this!" Ky began. "Start off with..." Suddenly an irritated voice flooded Ky's head where only he could hear.

"Ky, I don't want to sound too whiny,
But I really hate my name.
Little Guy was fine when I was tiny,
But now it just sounds lame."

Shaking his head a bit, Ky couldn't really get used to the fact that Litt... ahrm... his Xatu could now speak to him as easily as any person could. Turning towards his Pokepal, he spoke awkwardly in an attempt to negotiate. "Do you have to worry about it now?" Ky asked in a frustrated and confused tone. When Little Guy was a Natu, he had never hesitated with any of Ky's commands before. Seeing that the Xatu wasn't budging though, Ky figured that part of getting used to an evolution was noticing changes in personality and learning to accept them. "Fine then, uhh..." Ky's mind raced in thought for a new name. "Let's start with Night Shade uhh.... Bigger Guy?"

Ky could have sworn he heard a grunt of disapproval in his head before Xatu took off to land right in front of Ky. Now focused on the battle, with his eyes burning a bright blue light, a thick shadow soon surrounded the psychic bird, taking on a much more intimidating look than before in his smaller form. After gathering a fair amount, the Night Shade soon took off along the ground like a river of shadow towards his opponent.

"That's fine Donnie. Take it all in!" Cassie ordered confidently. As instructed, the Donphan stood in place for the shade to connect, drinking it in as if it was nothing more than a regular shadow. There was no doubt that it had done the damage as expected with a direct hit, but to Ky's surprise there wasn't much of a way to tell. Cassie chuckled. "Let's play," she taunted.
