*Slowly, the dark aura surrounding Bain starts to move towards his upturned hands and form spheres of energy*

*The spheres rise up and outward in front of Bain as he stands and readies himself for defensive training*

*Without warning, the spheres start to fly towards Bain head-on. He crosses his arms in front to block; the force still drags him several feet through the dirt. He deflects the first sphere upwards just in time to see the second come from his right*

*He drops to one knee and narrowly dodges the second sphere. As soon as it passes overhead, Bain dashes forward and turns around to face the two spheres once again. The one from above dives and tries to pile drive, but misses as he moves backwards to advert injury. The speed of the dive drives the sphere underground*

*As Bain prepares for the second sphere to attack, the first one burst from the ground behind him and cause him to turn around. As he watches the first sphere shoots towards the sky, the second sphere makes its move and attack at full speed*

*Bain turns and extends his right arm just in time and catches the sphere in his hand. An expression of concern appears across his face as the sphere flashes brightly then explodes, sending Bain flying backwards and finally skids to a halt 40 feet from where he was previously standing*

*The second sphere returns for another attack and comes in from above at an angle and attempts to hit Bain while he's on his back. Bain rolls to the side to dodge the attack and then promptly jumps to his feet, ready for another attack. The sphere learned it's lesson the last time and pulls up just before hitting the ground and quickly turns to attack again*

*Bain was ready to end this exercise and waited for the next attack. As the sphere charged forward, Bain unsheathed his sword and rushed forward. He slashed at the sphere, but it ducked underneath the blade and hit him in the shin, causing him to fall forward*

*He rolls onto his back and raises to one knee. The sphere turns and makes its final approach. Bain leaps straight up into the air, watching the sphere start to pass underneath him. With his free hand, Bain reaches into the small bag that rests behind him on his belt and removes a single kunai. He throws it down at the sphere, piercing it through the center and pinning it to the ground. The sphere explodes as Bain lands on both feet*

*Bain walks over and retrieves his kunai and places it back into its pouch. He walks back to the river, sits down and begins to meditate again*
