Lady Blodwynn DarkElf27 Lady Blodwynn Forge World is all resin, their days of casting in metal are sadly over and done with. I mean, they probably need something a little more sturdy to support a model that large and heavy. Resin in itself can be quite sturdy and durable, but if you really want to enforce the joints and certain parts, you could always drill them out and shove in brass rods. It also helps to use good superglue such as zap-a-gap along with an accelerator to strengthen the bond even further. Hm, I guess it varies with the size of the component. I've only used fairly small resin parts, and they've always been fragile and a bit bendy.

Try a bigger kit some time. wink
My Thunderbolt is a sturdy kit, in some places the casting was a wee bit too thin, but other than that very sturdy.

Alright, I'm bored and this forum has been dead for a long time. Let's see about a new posting force roundabouts these parts.
Here's what you do: You come up with a unit that you would like to see changed/improved/added, and you elaborate upon why. Included in that is kit available to the squad, costs, statlines, etc.
I'll start it off: I would love to see Raptors become a shock&awe unit again. In the old Codex, they were able to tear off from assaults at will, impose massive Leadership losses and generally wreck peoples' days. In the current Codex, they have been turned into Assault Marines. All of their unique fluff/feel was removed from their rules. The ability to take marks is nice, but doesn't quite cover the missing "feel," ya dig?
So, here's my proposal to start: Keep the ability to mark. Add in an upgrade for one member of the squad, being a "Vox Howler" or however you want to name it. This item functions first and foremost like an instrument does for Daemons. If they end up tied in a combat, they are considered the victor by a single wound.
Another cool one to add would be more god/army specific units. Nurglesque Sorcerers with the ability to poison enemy units and the extended ability for that plague to spread off to other units. Khornate troops riding on a massive cannon that fires gouts of boiling brass like a Hellhound. More...fun toys for the HQs.
Eh. That's my bit. Let's see what you've got!

Seraphim are great visually but not that spectacular on the battlefield, costing more than assault marines and being weaker in assault, and not much better in shooting - my take would be reduction in price to 16 points and allowing to shoot their pistols as a pair (ie assault2)

I just wish they would give all of the chaos chapters their own codices. The space marine legions do. Oh how I wish for a Thousand Sons codex with unique choices and rules for that specific army, NOT just supplemental White Dwarf articles or a page or two out of the Space Marine codex.

Word through the grapevine has it that the big four traitor legions will get their own codex either next year or 2012 to make amends for the current chaos codex.

I made a set of rules for a Tzeench HQ choice other than Ahriman. (Will upload the datasheet I made when I can next to get a scanner). The main points were: 1. He rode into battle on a chaos spawn that he'd tamed 2. If he died there was a chance that the spawn lived on 3. Carried a bolt pistol and the orb of change, a mace like object fixed onto his arm. 12in range, effects very on a roll of 2-D6

ok, i have made two chaos lords for each god, ( 3 for khorne ). all of them have demon weapons, but im wondering, whats the best demon weapon to use in general
i already know a few things about each one:
Khorne : horde killer but high risk of failure nurgle : big thing killer but expensive tzneentch : ranged killer but vunerable to close combat slaanesh : multiple wound killer but vunerable to eternal warriors

Crap, I didn't see your last question. I'd have gotten you an answer right away if I had.
The Khornate daemon weapon is honestly my favorite to use in game, if only because of how ridiculous it is. Lots of fun, high risk. The Nurglesque daemon weapon does not cost any more than any of the other weapons, and is good for whittling down high toughness opponents. The Tzeentchi one is usable in CC as well, but is the only one to grant a ranged component. The Slaaneshi one is good for anti-character purposes. I used it to kill the Avatar of Khaine at one point.
It all depends on the fluff/feel of your army for what you take.
As far as the other conversion, the first step would be to get a Dreadnought. I'd suggest getting an Imperial one, given that the plastic would be easier to work with. Then, build a seat into it, probably with plasticard. Then, it would take the conversion of the Chaos Lord to get him into the seat. The only issue is that Chaos Dreadnoughts are not happy to be where they are. They are kept awake and tormented within the Dreadnoughts, which is what leads to their special rules.
I can see it more that the Chaos Lord is riding the Dreadnought on a slightly augmented howdah. That would fit it more that they are totally insane (on both parts involved). However, if you want to do your Throne of Damnation, go for it.

However, if you want to do your Throne of Damnation, go for it. in normal games i would use it as a basic lord on a steed, i know its kinda to the extream, but in appocalypse games, i'd make my own data sheet for it, ( you can do that, right? ) anyway, ive never used plasticard in my life, and wouldnt know where to start, and what about the chaos marine himself, how would i pose him to be sitting

well, it certanly fits the part if i wanted a dead guy, but i'd rather have one alive... and without the imperial eagle on it.

If having free access to all the bitz, I would do: throne from the inquisitor karamazov - file away all inq iconography and add spikes, lots of em legs from chaos dreadnought arms from the new plastic demon prince and plastic chaos marine with champions bits to sit on the throne

well, the main thing i'd have a hard time with is the seat and the lord's sitting position, or else it would end up looking like he is playing DDR ontop of a dreadnought rofl
