Now, last time I was here, I make a perfectly acceptable reference to Kryptonite, and you know exactly what I mean.

*But then focuses.* I know about it because there's comic books written about a guy named Clark Kent, also known as Superman, who spent his working hours flying around and rescuing nosy journalists. I spent my childhood reading all about it.

Whoa whoa.... *throws up hands in universal 'relax it' sign* Back up...throw it in reverse... I don't -know- the guy! Please do not call it a story...not to me anyway. :::she felt that he might understand if she explained:::
Thousands of years ago, there lived a great man. He changed many lives, he was a hero and a legend. The ideals of his example have spread througout time, and his legacy echos in all the fascets of life as my people know it....but he has become just that. A legend. So much time has passed that no one can be sure if he was real or not. And if he was, were his story's exagerated? We do not know. History is subject to those who write it down, and there have been so many generations that it's been passed down to, it's hard to know what is real and what is not.

My bloodline, the house of El, has been an active advocator of his existance. Even though I am no longer an accepted member of my bloodline, I still hold his ideals with the utmost respect. The story of this man means very much to me.

*Luke's first instinct is to tease her....but the more she talks....the more he can't bring himself to. It would be like harassing someone about their religion. It's a PC culture he comes from. He finds himself nodding along.*
*As Cora's talking, the stories he read about as a grade schooler come back to him. The pictures, the extensive, sometimes just massively weird story line....*
*The House of "El". Cora's always said it....He remembers Clark Kent's real name from Krypton.*
Like, like... Kal El? and Jor El? *He can't remember Superman's mom's name.*

Heh... don't take me as the legend's distant incarnite. I do not know if my first ancesors truly stemmed from him, or if they just took the name to honor him, and out of respect for him.
To compare it to your time, his story is that of like King Arthur, Robin Hood, or Jesus Christ. Their existances never confirmed, but their stories were great.

It must sound pretty silly. I don't know how he is percieved in your time, but the more extreme members of the house of El have made fools of themselves in the past proclaiming their ideas.
