Kilik slid the ring off of his arm, and handed it to Nurse Joy. It was quite a simple matter now, instead of having to detach the Pokeballs from his belt and put them on the tray. Flareon followed the Nurse at her heel. Kilik watch the woman turn the corner. He then walked over to one of the large couches and took a seat. He removed his PokeNav from his pocket and looked at it. He tossed it up and down a few times, watching it spin in the air.

A thought struck Keegan as the Poison Sting hit home. If Machop gets poisoned, it's attack will go up, he thought, taking a step back. But poison-type Pokemon are resistant to fightng moves. The boy bit his lip as a strategy formed in his mind. If it's paralyzed, same thing, attack goes up, but a less chance of it actually attacking... It's risky, but it'll have to work. "Alright Loki! Use Glare! Stop it in its tracks!"
"Quick Machop! Use Seismic Toss!" Brawly countered. Before Loki could react, Machop had converged on him, put him in a tight hold, and leapt into the air, slamming the Ekans down hard. The frisky fighting Pokemon jumped back, still raring to go.
Loki writhed on the ground, its coils rippling and twisting. "Loki!" cried a worried Keegan, but stopped as the Ekans reared back its head, and seemed to slide out of its skin. The elongated body grew longer, and thicker in diameter as it vanished in a burst of white light. When it faded, Loki was there, no longer an Ekans, but a fully grown Arbok, the shell of its old form crumpled on the ground behind him.
"Charrrbok!" hissed the cobra Pokemon fiercely, his intimidating new form lowering the attack of the enemy Machop as he completed his glare, sending a chill down the little fighter's spine.
Keegan just stared in awe, trying to piece together what had just happened.

"Congratulations," Brawly called, taking a step back. It almost seemed as though he too had been intimidated by the Arbok. "Don't let it scare you, Machop! Use Low Kick!"
"Uh, ah, alright, thanks!" Keegan called back, a large grin spreading across his face. "Okay Loki! Let's make this badge ours! Use your Sludge Bomb!" he called. Loki hissed, and sent forth the sludge, spattering all over Machop and the battlefield. It cried out in pain but kept coming, its right leg sweeping out as it delivered a fierce kick to Loki's underside. The Arbok didn't seem phased, and suddenly struck out, biting into the Machop's offensive arm, causing it to flinch.
"Karate Chop!" Brawly cried, clenching his fists. Machop made a move to attack, but its body siezed up. It noticibly struggled to fight back.
"Wrap it, Loki!" Keegan hollered, confidence booming in his voice. The Arbok lunged forward, easily covering the smaller Pokemon in coils and squeezing repeatedly. Machop struggled and fought to free itself.
"Charr!" hissed Loki, looking pleased with his newfound strength.

Beacon was done for, knocked out before the second celestial comet had the chance to strike him. He went down rough, scraping his face on the polished wood.
"Beacon!" Mike cried out, recalling his Pokemon with lightning reflexes. A frown appeared on his face as he reached for his next Pokemon, tossing the ball onto the field. Revealing himself was Nitro, who's graceful wings flapped powerfully, sending some debris into the walls. The trainer tilted his head to the side with an apathetic gaze wiping over his face. "That Pokemon hurt your little brother Beacon. How does that make you feel?"
The Charizard let out a deep chested roar, heat pouring from his maw. Slamming his foot down on the ground he readied himself for his next command.
"Sunny Day." said the boy, his wavy hair covering the side of his face from his Pokemon's wing gusts.
His body radiated more heat than usual as Nitro fired a blast of flames upward, the sun scorching the playing field. He lowered his head, a look of confidence written all over as he thrashed his tail around.

Norman's stared at the large fire pokemon but didn't say anything about it. " Clefable use Light Screen!" Norman said in hopes to cut down all special attacks that Nitro might use. The cute Fairy pokemon raised its arms and glowed slightly befor errecting the Lightscreen around it as protection.

"Slash." The trainer muttered, leaning his head back a little to see through his hair.
The dragon thrusted forward with a stroke of his wings, clawing the side of Clefable's face with a powerful swipe. He leapt back before she could counterattack, ready for whatever the Pokemon would throw at him.

Clefable gave a small cry when she felt the claws slash the side of her face. She rubbed one small paw over the damaged part of her face befor growling slightly and springing forward with a suprising amount of agility she jumped up onto Nitro's back and ran up his neck to where his head was and let loose another barrage of rage infused Doubleslaps. Norman just sighed, sometimes he wondered why he used Clefable when the pokemon hardly listened to him and went on rampages against the other pokemon. Looking over he winced a bit as a particularily hard slap whapped the Charizard across the nose, at least with all this contact Clefables Cute Charm ability might take affect.

Far to furious to succumb to the Clefable's wiles, Nitro slammed his head with Clefable still on it into the side of the wall. Stepping back he punted the fairy Pokemon back to her side of the arena, silently thanking his stars the Cute Charm wasn't effective this time.
Mike merely smirked, Nitro always fought better when he was angry. "Keep it up, you got this round in the bag."

"Wow!" called Kasiya, jumping up and cheering. Rosemary ran around in circles on the floor, cheering as well. It was always amazing to witness evolution. The process would never bore her. "Go Loki go! You can finish it!" She clapped her hands, all her troubles forgotten momentarily. In the back of her mind she was already anticipating her next gym battle.

Hearing the cheers behind him seemed to bolster him even further. Keegan grinned, glancing back at Kasiya before he fixed his eyes on the two Pokemon locked in battle. "Poison Sting!" he called, and as Loki executed the attack, Machop slumped in his coils. The Arbok released him, slithering back to a starting position and looking rather tired. Keegan wasn't sure why, he'd suffered not much damage during the battle.
"Machop return!" called Brawly, returning the fainted fighter with a sigh. "I didn't expect that," he said truthfully, and grinned. A second later he tossed out a second Pokeball, revealing a Meditite. "Start of with Meditate!" Brawly ordered. "And follow up with Hidden Power!"
Meditite gave a cry, and folded its arms neatly in its lap. Its body shone with a red tinge, and it jumped up, orange coloured-orbs circling its body. They scattered in every direction, and then Meditite stamped its foot down on the ground, sending a narrow shockwave towards Loki, stone spikes following in its wake. They slammed into the Cobra Pokemon with such force that he was knocked out instantly. Keegan gave a cry, and ran over to the fallen Arbok. "You did great, pal," he smiled, recalling him and holding the Pokeball against his chest as he readied a second.

Keegan stood up, his eyes on the torn ground below him. "So that was Hidden Power Ground, eh?" He took a deep breath, his hand clutching tightly the Pokeball that held his next battler. Still holding Loki's to his chest, he threw it. It burst open in mid-air, and Artemis appeared, stretching her wings and soaring about the room. The small Taillow eyed the Meditite on the ground, and gave a shrill cry. "Start of with Double Team and then follow up with Focus Energy!" Keegan called, his voice serious. After seeing that move, he had no idea what sort of tricks Brawly may pull out of his sleeve.
"Use Bulk Up!" Brawly countered, and the next rounds of battle went by slowly as the two Pokemon concentrated on boosting their abilities.

Rosemary jumped around in delight, and also what appeared to be excitement. It seemed the little one was anxious to battle as well. Kasiya watched the Taillow with keen intrest. The bird was very gutsy for one so small. "I bet it won't take long for her to evolve either," Kasiya commented, watching the many copies flying around the ceiling.

Mai watched Kilik enter the Pokemon Center from atop a nearby building, her ever-loyal Flygon next to her. "There he is," she scoffed, getting into position. She held her gun steady, watching through the scope as he waited for the return of his Pokemon. "He's alone, that's good," she murmured as she took aim. Her finger tensed on the trigger, but something held her back. Her body seemed to shake as she was hit with the realization that she couldn't do it. How could she take a young life, so full of potential?
She uttered a curse and slowly packed up her things. Climbing up onto Flygon's back, they flew down and landed. She got a few strange looks, but the fact that she wasn't dressed as a Rocket was in her favor. She recalled Sirrus and stepped inside the Center, her eyes fixed on Kilik as she approached. I'll warn him, she thought. I'll tell him that his life is in danger and that he should keep a low profile...

"Alright Artemis! Quick Attack!" Keegan called. The Taillow dove in for the attack, her wings tight against her body.
"Mind Reader!" called Brawly, and Meditite's eyes became wide and filled with a silvery glow. It sidestepped Artemis's attack with ease.
"Double back with a Wing Attack!" Keegan shouted, clenching his fists. Artemis gave a shrill cry and did a quick wingover, striking Meditite from behind sharply. It gave a cry as it was knocked forward. By the time it was standing again, it was unable to tell which was the real Taillow, at least by sight alone.
"Confusion!" cried Brawly. "Get rid of those clones!"
"Use Wing Attack again" Keegan countered. "Attack it before it gets rid of the clones!"
Artemis obeyed, and was able to strike again as the last of the clones was blasted away by psychic energy.

Kilik looked up upon hearing the Pokemon Center's door slide open and the soft 'ding' echo through the building. The boy snatched his PokeNav from the air and stared at the girl who was standing in the doorway. His grip tightened on the Navigator. I've seen her before! he stood up cauciously, walking over to the front desk. His Pokemon were fully healed; Flareon hopped onto the desk. Kilik gathered up the ring and slid it up his arm. He stared daggers at the woman. She's part of Team Rocket...I know it. I saw her at the base in Viridian!
