Daren grinned, "i can handle that." he walked in and took of of the darker ones, covered it with butter and syrup, and 'taste tested' it. "perfect," he said simply, happily shewing away. "best thing i've eaten in a month!" he was hungry, amazingly so, and he allowed himself to indulge. "scrambled is perfect, it smells amazing in here, love." he looked down at his plate, "really, you are the best."

Daren shook his head, "i'm going to be working on gaining a bit of muscle back, so i shouldn't eat to many high calorie foods like this. but it's amazing, thank you, Tim." he smiled again and went back eatin, finishing his plate quickly. "so good-" he smiled and kissed Tim's cheek, "oh, sorry." he'd gotten some left over syrup on him and Daren wiped it away, "sorry," he chuckled and started to wash the dishes. "this feels nice-"

Daren nodded, "it really is. how long do you get off for christmas? we should just spend every day in our sleep clothes, hanging out like this. it would be amazing." he finished the last dish and helped Tim put the rest away. "you know, when things got bad, i'd think about this, about us. i'd remember you and your beautiful smile, i'd remember watching a movie and falling asleep on the couch. we haven't done it much, but it was enough. it kept me sane." he walked to Tim and placed his hands on his shoulders, "you've saved me so many times, Tim. i'm lucky to have met you." he leaned forward, resting his forehead on Tim's, "so lucky-"

Daren blushed a little, "i don't snore-" but he did, he knew he did, Iroh and Nevi had both complained. "glad you like it-" he muttered, looking away, but secretly smiling. "you didn't-" that was kind of sweet, but also kind of sad. Tim didn't want to associate it with the hospital, but did that mean board games were off. "we can just order decorations on Amazon, i have Prime si they will get here in two days. let's go watch movies." he took Tim's hand and hurried to the living room, "what do you want to watch? my netflix should still be up, so pick something from there. it's your choice, i'll chose the next one." he was excited to spend a lazy day with Tim in his arms.

"BNo idea," Daren pulled out his computer and turned it on. it took a while to reboot since it had been so long, he searched Netflix and found the movie. "ha! they have it." he sent it to his television and sat back to watch, his arm around Tim. "haven't seen this in forever. next are the ripoffs. promise."

"She probably doesn't recodnize me. wouldn't be surprised, i'm not the man she knew." he smiled sadly before turning to the movie. they spent the morning like that, cuddled together, watching movies. they took turns picking and after a few hours, Apple came out of hiding and sat on Daren's foot. he smiled, glad she's come around, but really, it had been a great day. they ordered chinese come lunchtime and just sat, eating. Daren promised himself he'd get working on his diet tomorrow, today was just for them. he woke up from a light doze and looked at the credits of the movie he didn't remember anything of. "mmm, Tim?" had he fallen asleep too, "i think it's dinner time. are you hungry?"

Daren thought about that, "i think one or two." he stretched and sighed as his back popped. he was sore from sitting there for so long, but he didn't mind. it had been a good day. he needed to thank Iroh for his help in getting him out, Akane too. if it weren't for them, he'd have been locked away for who knows how long thanks to the public outcry. but they had video surveillance from the hallway of Givens breaking into the house. Tim entered next and then finally Daren. there had been enough time between Daren's arrival and the police arriving for him to have killed Givens and the knife in the man's possession as well as the scratches and bruises on Tim had proven he was attacked. Daren owned the gun used and his prints as well as Tim's were on it, at least what prints they could find under the blood. he'd explained and proven he'd taught Tim how to shoot for self defense and so Tim's prints were written off. Akane had provided information for his mental health and proven he'd been attending meetings with her for years and that he psycho eval of him was not that of a man that killed for pleasure. she allowed, with his permission, several of her colleges to view their sessions and read over her notes and they all had agreed that he wasn't a psychopath, but rather, a man willing to do anything to protect himself and those he loves. "We should have Iroh and Akane over for dinner sometime. thank them for everything. what do you think?"

"yeah, you're right." Daren picked up his laptop and pulled up amazon. he typed in 'christmas decorations' and hit enter, only to be bombarded with pages and pages of lights, nativity scenes, fake trees, wreaths and glass balls. "you pick, i could care less," he said, holding out the computer when Tim came back. "you have better taste than i do, anyways."
