Don't worry, James is pretty toned down for non-lethal tournaments.

Actually, I just remembered that you're a death knight.
Okay, you're not in a good position.

Fierach Actually, I just remembered that you're a death knight. Okay, you're not in a good position. Well, that depends on two things: a) is James' sacred flame actually strictly 'holy' aligned magic (chi is not magic) and b) does a death knight constitute a 'supernatural being' since from what I was reading it looks like you mean 'planar being' when you use that expression, since you can banish them to their home planes and such.

Are you undead?
Is your existence supernatural?
Are you, any of the below: Demon Daemon Magically-created undead Angel
If yes. You're not in a good position.

Fierach Are you undead? Is your existence supernatural? Are you, any of the below: Demon Daemon Magically-created undead Angel If yes. You're not in a good position. Yes, she is a magically raised undead, however, that makes her a construct more than anything. That aside, a lot of things outside of those listed are 'supernatural creatures', including your own character. Does it apply to that as well? Also, didn't answer my other question. :/

Why not just agree to fight a regular match? Without all of the "banishing to other planes" or "smite thee undead with unerring accuracy!"
No need to over-complicate this.

James's sacred flame is not actually "holy" aligned magic. It lacks the massive modifers against undead creatures, choosing instead a moderate bonus against a wider range of creatures.
Infact, had Angels been the usual sorts of creatures, roaming around, killin' people murdering innocents, James and his clan may as well be labeled "Angelslayers" instead. To his powers, they are two sides of the same coin.
James is a metahuman. While he has this special bloodline power, he does not count as a supernatural character. Deitric, would not count as a supernatural character. Sokoya probably would. Frakenstein, would not count as a supernatural character. Dracula would. Jacob the werewolf would. KB would. Morbius the Living Vampire would not. The Swamp Thing would. A bear would not, a druid would not, a druid in bear form would.
It's not gonna be like, "SMITE BITCHES, YOU DIE INSTANTLY", but I believe you'd be at a mild disadvantage if you're taking damage from his flames. They're going to sting and burn more then usual.
Its the highly concentrated and power techniques that'll actually ******** you over (and they'll more or less work on anything through sheer power), but James isn't really trying to kill anybody in a tournment.
Unlike half the other contestants.

Xerowingz Why not just agree to fight a regular match? Without all of the "banishing to other planes" or "smite thee undead with unerring accuracy!" No need to over-complicate this. Because, as I'm currently reading it, James can literally throw a hook into my gut that will light Aetyra up at several thousand degrees celsius and literally falcon punch her out of the arena and through the wall, then out the other side with like a single charge.

Does your character have free will?
Yes or no?
If no, then your character shouldn't even be allowed in the tournament.
If yes, then it's not an issue.
Stop trying to worm yourself out of a bad match up with rules lawyering.
Chi is magic. It's a different kind of magic, but it's magic in the grand scheme of things. All it is is energy manipulation, and that's all magic is.

Even if "chi" isn't "magic", it can still be holy-aligned.
Remember, you're dealing with fictional concepts. What does or doesn't apply only matters within each individual context. Internal consistency within the character concept and their powerset.
