Lucian nodded, liking Raevyn's point. "While I might leave you alone at home, I wouldn't leave you alone anywhere else. You are just flat out not ready yet. Maybe once you've had a bit more practice, and everything seems to have adjusted and come in." He told Jennalin, who was now frowning. She'd obviously hoped that Raevyn would trust her to be alone with Ash, but she supposed she understood the point of view of the guys. She nodded, not saying anything.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed, running a hand through his cropped hair. "Look Jen. It's nothing against you. But I am not going to take any chances when it comes to Ashriel. I won't risk anything happening to her. Lucian and I have both had our powers for years. We know what we can and can't do." He explained, softening his voice. He didn't mean to be rude to the girl. He just was refusing to put Ashriel at risk. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin nodded quietly. "Yeah, I understand. It makes sense." She said in her usual, practically monotone voice.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn nodded. He glanced between the siblings. "Is that everything then? Or was there more to this conversation?" He asked, his amber gaze flickering back to the room where Ashriel slept. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian nodded easily. "That's all. I won't always bring Jen by now - I figure that might make it easier on you." He said, bringing his voice down to a whisper that he didn't believe his sister to be able to hear. In the bedroom, Ashriel fell off the bed, due to upset during her sleep making her toss and turn.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Sounds good." Raevyn murmured with a nod. His head jerked up sharply at the sound of Ashriel falling. He rose and hurried into the bedroom to make sure she was okay. He picked her up carefully, setting her back on the bed. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel hadn't felt herself fall off the bed, and she was still in a fitful slumber, tossing even as Raevyn lifted her onto the bed. Her face was scrunched; the presence of a nightmare was obvious.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn frowned, seeing the expression on her face. He began stroking her hair softly. "Ashriel. Ashriel, calm down. You're alright. Nothing is going to hurt you." He murmured to her softly, hoping to ease the nightmare. He alternated between petting her hair and tracing her cheek lightly, his touch as soft as his voice. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel stopped tossing although her nightmare didn't end. "Butwhataboutyou?" She mumbled in her sleep; her breathing was beginning to get scattered.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn hesitated a moment, realizing she must have been dreaming about him getting hurt. "Shh. I'm right here Ashriel. I'm fine. Nothing is hurting me. I'm fine. Shh. Just relax." He murmured soothingly, trying to calm her down. "Everything is alright Ashriel." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel seemed to calm although she was one of those who cry in their sleep during nightmares. Tears were slowly trickling from her shut as as she turned over, her arms wrapping around Raevyn unconsciously. Her breathing slowed to normal after a few moments; her grip around Raevyn strong, pulling him to her.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed and moved to lay down with Ashriel. Apparently she wasn't going to let him go, judging by her grip on him. He lay with her, brushing the tears from her cheeks. "Sleep Ashriel. Everything is okay." He murmured softly, wrapping his arms around her, holding her close. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel was calmed completely now, and she curled into Raevyn as he lay down with her. Her dream turned into a pleasant one, a smile laying itself on her face. She breathed deeply. Now, as she was sleeping, she gained the childlike innocence that seemed all but gone from her any other time. She became the sweet girl that she should have been, the unhardened young lady. The one that picked up a stray cat on a whim; the one who cared for others with no worries for herself.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn smiled, watching her sleep. He began to half-drowse himself, but never truly slept. To do so would mean returning to his human form and he didn't want to right now. He just wanted to hold Ashriel and revel in this small moment of peace. He didn't seem to notice the time slipping away as he drowsed. The tiger that should be....isn't....

While Ashriel and Raevyn were dosing off, Lucian peeked into the room. Seeing the two, he smiled, closed the door, and chucked.to himself. It was nice, seeing Ash that way. She'd nearly become his sister over the years, so it was hard to think of her as anything but. As long as Raevyn was decent to her, he didn't mind him being so close. And he could tolerate the other cat; hell, he could rely upon the younger male. He sighed, smiling at his true adopted sister. "We'd best go." He whispered, ushering her out the door. Unlike Raevyn, he didn't have the telekinesis skills required to lock or unlock doors. Instead, he locked the basic lock, the one that would click into place when he shut it. He then left, holding his sister close.
Several hours passed almost seamlessly, nothing much to mark them apart. After a long enough time, Ashriel's eyes peeked open. She smiled as she saw Raevyn's face, before blushing at how she'd sleep. Only now did she realize that she'd curled into his chest, and that she'd had to unravel herself slightly to look at his face. Still, she was comfortable where she was. Well, except for her head. Huh. Funky headache. It felt almost like she hit it. Her fingers went up to feel where it hurt, and, sure enough, there was a small bump. What had happened? She looked to Raevyn in confusion, not sure exactly what to say.
