The battle done with Crenu watched as the red haired guy, whom he recognized from the group taking on the orange clad guy the day prior, was taken out by his blue seal looking pokemon. Riza's pokedex identified it as a Sealeo, it sounded far to playful for his liking. He sighed as Riza walked over to help the guy out, why was it that none of these trainers were able to keep their larger pokemon from bowling them over? It had to be something in the water, because he couldn't imagine letting that kind of behavior go unattended after the first time. Then again, he didn't have any pokemon like that to say he'd done differently with. Still, he seemed a little to slow getting up for just getting a love tackle from his pokemon, he did seem like an able bodied guy from where he was standing. He must have suffered some damage from the grunts yesterday, who hadn't really, but Crenu felt like he should just man up and get over it. He hadn't exactly gotten hugs from the grunts either but he was carrying on like nothing was out of the ordinary. Even though it was his lat one, he took the cigarette tucked behind his ear and lit it, making his way over to the little congregation of trainers intrigued by the fact that the red haired guy and Riza already knew each other. "Rather blunt, aren't you?" Snorunt had settled down, content with watching the strangers interact with her two new friends. His words were cool and his expression was that of a person who was sitting in the back of a classroom not paying attention and not even trying to hide it as he exhaled a cloud of smoke.

Riza raised an eyebrow at Keegan's remark but just smiled. "Didn't feel like leaving just yet," she said, shrugging. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and clicked it on, if anything just to check the time. "You look like you shouldn't have stuck around though," she said, frowning at his appearance. "The battered, beaten tough-guy look really isn't you." She looked over at Crenu and Snorunt as the two of them made their way over, shaking her head a little at the sight of the cigarette. She chose not to mention it this time though, deciding to let her body language do all the talking.

"So that seemed like an interesting battle just now," she said, looking over at Jaeshan and his Pokemon. Once again she held up her pokedex to scan the Pokemon, quietly reading the entry to herself. She certainly was meeting a lot of new species of Pokemon today, and it reminded her that she needed to get back to the pokecenter to reclaim her own Pokemon.

Blanca took a moment to briefly admire the Pidgeotto's sheen feathers before it sent a wild tornado their way way. Oh, my, she could tell that this trainer -- short and young as she was -- was a strong 'un, probably stronger than the handful of challengers that she had had previously. But she'd rise up to the challenge, definitely!

"You know what to do, Grannie! Bust it through," Blanca said, assurance in her voice; the battlefield was ultimately a comfortable place for her, even if she was a bit shaky on this whole leader business. The Fairy Pokemon (who the hell named it that?) nodded, bracing for impact before taking the damage head on. From the debris and dirt that ensued, however, emerged a charging Granbull, scratched but determined. His forehead shimmered just slightly, indicating an incoming Headbutt.

elsewhere, in Hearthome --

Jun shrugged, conceding here too. As far as he was concerned, he only needed to make women beautiful and happy with their appearance; their husbands and hapless boyfriends could deal with all their other, less aesthetic needs. Women, as lovely and entertaining and charming as they often were, were ultimately impossible in anything demanding extreme commitment.

Jun was about to ask what lotion she used, maybe see what ingredients it used -- Rosaline was his presiding chemist, of course, and though she was rather talented at creating perfumes, she still had much work to do on other products -- when the woman reminded him of his current plaything. "Oh! Right, Aidan," the man said, a lightbulb popping over his head. "I can't leave my little toy alone too long, he might be naughty and run away. Excuse me, Miss Sinclair, I do believe I will take my leave now that our game has ended. But I do hope that we'll meet again, if accident will have it?" Jun smiled winningly, having taken an interest in this lady very much indeed. He made a move to brush back her hair, but instead pulled out a business card in that trite magic trick and handed it to her. It had satin, royal purple, cursive writing on it with gold imprinted flourishes, and said the following --

Jun Fierce and Co.
Touring Beautician Team
Let us grant you some pazzazz!
Cell-Phone - ###-####

Well, honestly, his beautician team only consisted of himself and his two Pokemon right now, and besides Jun's multi-faceted ability, Rosaline only dealt with perfume and Ronnie only with hair, but never mind that. And no one would ever know how Jun managed to get business cards so soon, but no one expected to understand him anyways.

"Toodle-loo, darling!" Jun said, slightly pecking her on the cheek as he did with all women, first-time clients or old friends. And so the flamboyant man and his Roselia took off; it was sunny now, you see, so Jun couldn't be bothered to remember his discarded umbrella. It had only been on-sale spare, anyways.

The boy stood up when the woman came into the room. "Sorry lady," he shrugged animatedly, pointing at her, "but your son is in the kookoo house, I think juuuust down the hall. Daaaahahahahaha!" He slapped his forehead, then brought it down to his knee, giving it a firm slap. "Whoo, I crack myself up. CRACK! Get it! Like her son! DAHAHA!" Mazarin placed a hand on the desk to steady himself. Obviously, he found this whole situation a lot funnier than everyone else. Shiftry chuckled as well, standing next to him. The Pokemon returned himself, however, to the Pokeball. Mazarin let out a yawn.

"Took a lot out of me today. Aaah, at least my job is done," he shrugged and stretched. Suddenly his phone started to ring. He dashed off to the corner and sat down, answering. He put his hand up to his mouth and whispered into the receiver. "This is Maz."

"Good work," Wesker said calmly, "You've finally proved yourself. Now then, return to our headquarters so I can give you your payment. And Mazarin..." he pushed his sunglasses against the bridge of his nose, "make it snappy." And again the line went dead. Mazarin stood up, patting his thighs in a cartoonish manner. "WEEEELP. Looks like, since my marvelous work here is done, I'm gonna be hittin' that ol' dusty trail. Bye ya'll!" He waved and headed towards the exit. He could smell the money now.

The contestants waited with baited breath as the judges deliberated there results. One of the contestants in the room was feeling terrible she was seated on the floor curled up on herself and feeling miserable. She had messed it up, she knew she had, the judges didn't even need to say it. Luffy had done perfect and she had just messed everything up for him. It was all her fault and she had let Luffy down. The poor Aipom stood in front of her with a frown on his face. He didn't know what to do, there was nothing for him to fight to make her feel better. Reaching up Luffy placed his hand tail on her head not knowing what else to really do.

"All right everyone! The results are in! So lets look to see who all is moving on to the next round!" The screen in the waiting room zoomed in and it showed the trainers who had made it. There were cries of joy and cries of sadness as people made it or they didn't.

Looking up already knowing she hadn't made it Robin looked at the screen to confirm her thoughts. When she saw it she could feel the p***k of tears at her eyes. Sniffling slightly Robin looked down at Luffy and forced a smile on her face for him. "I am sorry I let you down Luffy. I know you wanted to show them how great you were and I messed it up. You did great... I am the one holding your greatness back..."

Hearing his trainer's depressing words his frown grew, he did not like how she was talking. Robin most defiantly wasn't holding him back. Feeling a bit angry at her words he used the tail hand to slap her hard upside the head, he wouldn't have that kind of talk from any of his Nakama!

"Ouch! Luffy!" Robin exclaimed somewhat confused and her head hurting. Rubbing the back of her head she looked at the Aipom confused tears still in her eyes. She wasn't feeling depressed anymore though and that was pretty good. What she saw in her Nakama's eyes wasn't disappointment, no he was still proud of her and he was moving on a win or not. The smile on her face was genuine now as she grinned at him. "Your right Luffy. I would have liked to win, and I still feel bad that you didn't make it because of me but sitting here and crying wont get me anywhere." Checking her wallet she saw that she had some money in there. "All right, how about I get you a TM for doing a good job today." Luffy just grinned up at her happy now, he didn't care what they did he was just happy to see her happy now. The two walked out of the pokemon contest hall with a smile on there face not once glancing back at the screen that was showing the current appeal battle going on.

The two of them had never been to Cerulean City, well they had but they hadn't spent a lot of time there. So it was like they had never been there before! Walking through the town at noon they looked around, it was the city of water and the architecture certainly showed that. There were fountains everywhere, Robin had to hold Luffy back from going to raid them, and the water reflected the clouds in the sky. Speaking of the sky it looked like it was going to start raining soon. Shrugging it off Robin walked through the streets of the town not really caring where she was going but hoping that she could find the pokemart all the same.

Soon Robin did spot the distinctive blue roof of the pokemart, she knew that she was going to get a TM but she didn't know what one to get. Walking inside the building Robin made her way to the TM isle Luffy walking along with her. Upon seeing the folder had fake TM's she let out a sigh, as much as she loved Luffy, and she did want to get a TM for him she knew that she couldn't afford to have him touch a whole bunch of them. Pulling out her Pokedex she waited a moment for it to boot before scanning Luffy inside of it. Flipping through the virtual pages on the TM's that Luffy could use she finally came to one that suited her and Luffy just perfectly. Plucking the fake TM from the case she went up the counter ignoring Luffy's whining to see the TM. "Hello sir, could I get this please?"

The man glanced down at it for a second before smiling at her. "Sure you can. That will be 2000 please."

Digging through her wallet Robin handed it to him. After he counted the money he handed it to her and wished her a good day. Grinning Robin just nodded and left the building with the TM in hand. "Hope you like what I got you." Robin said with a grin as she pressed the TM on Luffy's forehead. The disk glowed a bright white before crumbling down on the ground all used up now. The moment it did Luffy opened his eyes up and looked up at Robin with a huge grin on his face. He was very happy with the move she had picked up for the two of them. It was the most perfect move for the two of them.

Karen's eye twitched at the boy's insensitive commentary. Mrs. Kyoka had an infamous reputation back home for being many things: such as eccentric, volatile (meaning her inventions, not her personality) and a bit intrusive. But above all else she was known for her undying, unconditional and unwavering love for her son and husband (who had been missing since the night of the Lilycove indcident). Karen didn't let a lot of things get to her, such as a failed experiment or general mishaps like that. But if there was one thing in the world that she simply would not tolerate, it was when someone insulted her baby boy. "Excuse me?" She turned to Mazarin who was now happily exiting the room and grabbed his shoulder, digging her bony fingers into his arm. "Just who do you think you are insulting my son's mental health like that with a get-up like that? How dare you speak of my child like he was a Sunday errand!? Didn't your parents teach you any manners?" She had half a mind to have Proton fry him on the spot, the Magneton would have been more than happy to.

"Magne, Magne!" Proton droned, reacting to Karen's anger. He was every bit as protective of Mike as she was. One word from Mrs. Kyoka and the boy would be a french fry.

"Now hold on just one minute!" the doctor protested, hurriedly standing up and breaking up the conflict. "Now ma'am I know you're upset-"

"Upset?" Mrs. Kyoka interrupted. "You call a mother getting a call at ten o' clock at night, after watching her son have an emotional break-down on public television, flying all the way down here to a mental institution only to have her baby boy insulted by some punk upstart UPSET? I'M FURIOUS!" Karen practically spit after each word. Her glasses fogged up as she screamed.

"But please don't take it out on Mr. Mazarin here." the doctor pleaded. "He was just doing what he thought was right." He turned to the boy. "Thank you again for your help son, you can go now."

Karen turned away as the boy left the room. If she had to look at that smug little brat's face one more time she'd find herself locked up here too. All it would take was one whack of her trusty wrench...

"Please, have a seat." the doctor practically begged, straightening out some of his frames. Karen reluctantly complied, crossing her legs and glaring at the doctor. "Our specialists had a talk with Michael while you were on your way here and we compiled a bit of a lengthy file on him already." He paused. "During the session, he would constantly switch from refer to himself as Mike and someone named Milo. Does that name have any meaning to you Mrs. Kyoka?"

"No." replied Karen curtly, her arms crossed.

"In any case, when he would call himself Milo, we noticed a drastic change in his appearance. His voice would get softer, his tone more demeaning, especially about Michael, and he would become increasingly violent, threatening to burn our specialist alive on many occasions. He would become prone to spontaneous fits of laughter when as he told our specialist some very graphic tales about the Lilycove incident that I won't repeat here."

"My son has always been a bit dramatic, I'm sure this is just some joke." Karen said dismissively.

The doctor narrowed his eyes. "Has your son had a history of violent behavior, Mrs. Kyoka?"

Karen fell silent, Proton buzzing quietly beside her.

"Moving on," the doctor replied. "When he would return to Michael, his disposition would once again alter significantly. He became frightened, paranoid, and told our specialist to run before 'he came back'. He would begin to cry, making such remarks as 'They've all left me.' 'She left me' and 'They're all dead.' over and over. Based on his responses and our team of analysts, we..." He stopped momentarily before continuing; this was always the hardest part. "I don't know how to put this softly so I'll just be blunt. Your son is a very disturbed young boy, and we recommend immediate treatment and isolation."

Karen sat there in silence as the doctor relayed to her the news. "Doctor." she said after a few moments. "I'm a mechanical engineer. I know how machines work, not people. But what I do know more than anything is my son. I have devoted my life to being a good mother and I can tell you that he is not crazy. He's just...eccentric. All Kyoka's are. The only thing even remotely close to what you're talking about is...well, even that isn't like what you're telling me now."

"Is it Mike's obsession with Flannery?" the doctor inquired, glancing at the file.

Sitting on the bench nearby Robin and Luffy looked up at the clouds moving in the sky. "Thank you for sticking with me Luffy." Robin muttered to her companion. Sure she had other pokemon but she didn't know them as well as she knew Luffy. She probably should put a bit more effort into getting to know them better but right now she really wanted to spend time with her first and greatest friend. She didn't know what she would do if she didn't have him with her. Looking over to the side she spotted the Cerulean gym's roof, hmm, she had failed her contest today maybe she could check out the gym? "Hey Luffy, how do you feel about a gym challenge?" She might not challenge Misty but she could at least check the inside out. At her side Luffy's ears just twitched slightly and he looked up at her and grinned, he was always up for a challenge, especially if it involved a battle, plus he wanted to check his new move out! Grinning back at him she pushed herself off of the bench and wondered over to the gym her best friend at her side.

Pushing the door open Robin peeked inside, it was pretty much a few pathways that went over a large pool of water. Looking down at Luffy who was peaking in to they shared a look. There didn't seem to be anyone inside, it was unlocked though. Pushing the door open a bit more and stepping inside she called out a bit hesitantly. "Hello?" She didn't notice the trail of bubbles coming closer to her in the water.

Robin did notice though when a man jumped out of the water. "RRAAAARRL!" The man yelled as he flew through the air. He landed on his feet with a wet slap.

Robin when the man jumped out at her let out a loud scream and fell into the pool behind her. Luckily enough Luffy was fast enough to grab her bag and save it and it's contents from the same watery fate. Spluttering and splashing around Robin stared at the man with wide and now angry eyes, her mascara was starting to run. "What the hell is your problem." She yelled at him.

"Hahaha! Sorry, I didn't know you scared so easily." The swimmer just laughed at Robin as she pulled herself out of the pool. "Anyway you need to challenge me if you want to get to Misty."

"I would challenge you Misty or not just for scaring me that much you idiot!" Robin tried her best to squeeze the water out of her new shirt and she pulled her jacket off of her. Behind her Luffy snickered slightly but he stepped out in front of her ready to battle. "Oh stop laughing Luffy!"

Kasiya had been sitting on one of the sofas in the lounge for quite some time, simply staring off into space. She'd released her Persian, Seto, and he was lying beside her, resting his head on her lap and purring loudly. Somehow, the feline always knew just how to cheer his trainer up. She finally snapped out of her little trance and she blinked and looked around. "I guess... I should get out of here," she said softly, her voice cracking a little. She didn't really know what to do now that she was alone, and she felt quite alone. Everyone had just walked away from her, and now even Mike had left her here on her own. He'd said it wasn't safe to be around him, but she hadn't cared then. She didn't care now. It made her heart hurt to think of where he was now and what might be happening to him. Was that crazy guy with the wings still chasing him? She wished she knew. She stood up slowly, still hurting in some places but nothing she couldn't handle, and began to leave the lounge, Seto following after her. Kasiya knew it would be best to recall the feline into his Pokeball, but she couldn't bear to be without at least one of her Pokemon by her side at the moment.

Kasiya slowly made her way towards the stairs, not really sure where she'd go or what she'd do once she got there, but anything had to be better than hanging out here in the hospital. For a moment she even toyed with the idea of crashing the Viridian Gym in a desperate attempt to get Shocker back from Mai, but she dismissed the thought rather quickly - she was in no condition to do such a thing. She'd placed her hand on the door handle, but before she could turn it she heard shouting coming from down the hall. Normally she wouldn't have paid it any notice, but when she heard Mike's name she froze, turning towards the sound. She didn't know why, but they were talking about him! Seto's ears had perked up too, and the Persian was already making his way towards the sound, looking over his shoulder to see if Kasiya was following. The girl nodded, creeping quietly down the hallway until she was just outside the office door, her back pressed up against the wall. Seto sat next to her, quietly licking a paw. Kasiya wasn't normally one to eavesdrop, but if it concerned her friend, she was determined to find out what was going on. "They think he's crazy," she whispered to the Persian, who replied with a confused meow. "Well, right now he is a little crazy, but not like they say. Not my Mike," she said, unaware of the fact that she was preaching to a Pokemon. She closed her eyes and sighed, not really wanting to hear more, though she found herself unable to leave the area.

After helping Keegan to his feet Jaeshan stood back a little, not really sure what was going on. He didn't know either of these two people but somehow they seemed to know Keegan. "Uh, yeah, it was," he said, looking towards the black-haired girl and nodding. She was quite pretty and he couldn't help but smile a bit at her, hoping he wasn't being too obvious in his avoidance of the other blonde guy. "Well, uh, this has been fun, but I think I'm going to run to the Pokemon Center and get Combusken here healed up." Combusken seemed to strongly disagree with her trainer though she allowed herself to be recalled, and Jaeshan looked back at the trio and waved. "Catch you later, Keegan, and I know it's not really your style but have a Happy Birthday. It won't kill you."

He quickly made his way back to the red roofed building and headed inside, giving the nurse Combusken's Pokeball. He quickly came to understand there would be a bit of a wait and he sat down on one of the chairs, suddenly remembering he'd promised Keegan lunch. Oh well, he'd probably end up here in a moment or so anyway, assuming he didn't get himself into more trouble with the black and white clad girl and the brooding blonde guy.

Mitsu simply sat there patiently, occasionally nodding off here and there as the boy slept. Once in a while she'd fix his blanket that had somehow slipped or pushed a pillow here and there. Cable had entrusted her with taking care of him anyways, not that she minded doing it. "If I knew what I was doing, I'd just heal you up myself," Mitsu murmured, not really liking the fact that the boy was so battered and bruised.

The girl smiled as Kilik began to wake up. She wasn't quite sure why it made her happy, maybe because it was that fact that she could go out and do something or maybe it was the fact that she could now talk to him. When people are asleep they usually don't make very good conversational partners, you know. She winced slightly watching him take out the IV and other medical equipment. It made her a little squeamish.

She held onto his hand after he so kindly helped her up, not that she couldn't have done it herself or anything. And she wanted to keep it there as the two exited the room, but she felt almost obligated to let it drop. "Have a nice sleep?" she asked, attempting to spark some chitchat as the two walked down the hallway to the cafeteria. She swung her arms back and forth slightly, smiling at the fact that she was moving rather than sitting.

"Well, I wouldn't say 'obsessed' is the right word to describe it," Karen lied. "But he is indeed infatuated with her."

"We see this a lot ma'am." The doctor said with a knowing nod. "Some young children fall for celebrities and can take it a little too far."

"Now you wait just one minute here," Mrs. Kyoka interjected. "This wasn't some twisted tabloid crush, those two had been friends since they were kids, and I'll have you know that little sweetheart is dating my baby!" Karen once again slammed her hands on the desk, the doctor turning his chair to catch his awards and diplomas from smashing on the ground. He grumbled angrily as he found one of the wooden frames was chipped.

"Be that as it may," he said with a sigh. "I think that might have changed between the two, and that might have been the catalyst for most of this."

"What?"

"Yes," he continued. "When we had a talk with your son, he mentioned that she had left him many times. It always took him a considerable amount of time to get that specific thought out, and it would be followed by an extreme outburst. If he was as committed as you say, their break-up could have had a profound impact on his psyche." He took a pen from his desk. "Tell me, would you describe your son as a nice person, all parental bias aside."

"Oh, of course!" Karen replied, now visibly distressed. "He is the kind of boy that would stop and help if you every spilled your groceries, or if you needed help with anything around the house."

"Mmhm." the doctor said as he jotted some things down on the file. "Did he ever lose his temper, was he often angry or easily flustered in any way?"

"Well, he used to overreact like any young boy, but over the past few years he seemed to mellow out. He became even more generous and I can't say I remember him ever getting angry at anything for more than a few seconds before calming himself down. It was strange at first, but I figured he was just growing up."

"I see..." the doctor remarked with yet another scribble. Karen was getting restless. She stood up, unable to take this any longer. Proton perked up and floated beside her, buzzing lowly.

"Now listen, I'm sick of sitting here and taking to you about this. Come on Proton, we're going to find Mike." The Magneton twirled its magnets happily. He wasn't exactly certain as to what was going on, but he did want to see Mike again. "Magneee." Proton droned, his pitch higher than usual.

"Alright, alright!" the doctor also stood up, holding out his hands to prevent another room shaking outburst. "I'll take you to him just calm down."

Karen only snorted in reply and headed for the door, followed by Proton and the doctor. As she stepped outside the office, she noticed a young girl and a Persian standing beside the door, obviously listening in on their conversation. "That's very rude you know." She glared down at her, not in the mood for any more condescending chatter from kids she didn't even know. With a huff Mrs. Kyoka turned on her heel and made her way down the hall.

Proton however, had a much less dismissive response. One of his heads noticed something familiar when he floated into the corridor, and the rest of him turned to see just who it was. His body shook excitedly when he realized just who it was. "Sssssaaaiiiaaaa!" he buzzed, his magnets clanking loudly against his metal frame. Static electricity crackled over his body as he experience what us humans would call 'nostalgia', as the robotic Pokemon recalled the girl with a gleeful metallic hiss.

"Proton!" Karen barked as she continued down the hall. "Come here!"

Proton's magnets drooped as he was called away. "Tooooooon, toooooon." He let out two drawn out buzzes and jerked his rightmost magnet back and forth like he had seen Mike do once, and floated off towards Karen.

He nodded. "I've been having this odd dream, though. It's this smoky room, with a bunch of other people in it. Then there's this guy up at the front, right?" Kilik grabbed a cup of OJ and a bowl of some off brand Froot Loops. He walked with the girl over to a table and sat down. "He's smoking this big cigar and he's got this hooked nose and gray hair. And he's blabbing on about how we're all scum and that we're only there because we love to gamble so much. I don't know why I'm dreaming this, I don't gamble." He poured the OJ into his bowl and went to eating.

"I mean...Oh! And then I stand up to him because I'm not like those other guys. I don't get it. Did you, uh..." he shrugged a bit, scarfing down another spoonful of cereal and orange juice, " have a nice...time...watching me sleep?" He didn't know exactly how to word it without sounding incredibly awkward, but then again, he figured there was no way to do such a feat.

=*=

Mazarin skipped with joy down the hallway. He passed a familiar looking blonde girl on his way down, blinking. What was she doing here? She was at the beach! She's the one that was sticking up for Kyoka! Maybe she's trying to get the same cell so they could be crazy together! He laughed loudly to himself as he skipped. "Daaahahahahahaha! This is such a glorious day!" Maz exited the building and pumped the air with his fist many times.

"Oh yes, gonna get paid today! All my hard work paid off! Gonna get paid, gonna get paid, money equals women and women equal amazing!" He let out a cheer and began to walk down the road with a bounce in his step.

Mitsu only half-listened, the dream was already sounding confusing to her. Truth be told the girl didn't dream much. Liza always said I never got 'rem sleep' whatever the hell that is. Wonder why I don't dream . . . And while Mitsu hadn't really given it much thought there was a reason why she didn't dream. When good things have happened you dream of good things and when bad things have happened you have nightmare. Ironic that she'd name her very own Gyrados that, but that's beside the point.

"Augh," Mitsu muttered clutching her head and slamming her eyes shut. There was that goddamn headache again! And it hurt like hell! I thought I got rid of this already. What the heck!?

Help me! Help me!

"Ah sorry," she said sheepishly to Kilik, "I don't quite get it either." She released her head, walking over to the little breakfast bar before grabbing a cup of coffee; she'd only recently learned to drink the stuff, thanks to those all-nighters recently. Of course she dumped in a whole load of coffee creamer and sugar. She grabbed a muffin, chocolate chip, while she was at it.

Mitsu laughed, sitting down across from the boy. "Wasn't the most exciting thing I've ever done, but it wasn't exactly boring either," she said before taking a big bite of her muffin. Table manners were never really her strong point.

Junko watched as the blond boy proceeded to walk unnaturally down the path. She grinned and waved back. The pigtail haired girl then turned on her heel, and made way as fast as her legs could carry her, without looking like she was a sprinter on a track team, to the Pokemon Center in Olivine.

The automatic doors opened to reveal a few trainers and a joyful, Joy behind the counter. There didn't seem to be a line or anything to heal Pokemon, so the girl casually walked up to the counter, checking out a few of the other trainers standing around on her way. "My Duskull needs healing please." She said as politely as she could to woman with loopy pigtails, as she offered her partner's pokeball.

"No problem!" Joy exclaimed, "It shouldn't take too long. Why don't you take a seat while you wait?" The nurse thoughtfully placed the ball on the tray and took it to the back room.

Junko decided to lean against a nearby window and mull over her defeat. Perhaps I should call Jomei... she thought as she removed one of her gloves to bite a pesky nail that had been bothering her. No, she couldn't call him. It'd be too embarrassing to admit that she had been defeated on her first try. Not to mention they'd only been apart for all of 3 hours tops. Perhaps after she had caught her first Pokemon she would call him up to brag and see how he was handling on his own.

As the three made their way to Mike's cell, the doctor approached the guards.

"Doctor Rogers," the younger man called out. "He seems to have calmed down a bit. I take it she's his mother?" he nodded at Karen.

"Yup." he said quickly, moving for the door. Truth be told he found Mrs. Kyoka to be a little frightening, and he was starting to see where the boy got it from. "We advise you to keep your distance ma'am, and not to remove his jacket please. If anything happens, just yell. We will be right outside."

"Out of my way." Karen shoved him aside as soon as the light turned green and the door opened. "And fix this window." The younger guard opened his mouth to speak, but Dr. Rogers stopped him. No use in adding to the situation. Proton followed, but got stuck on the metal door as he floated in. After a few seconds of struggling he managed to free himself and slip inside before the doctor closed the door.

Karen stepped inside the cell and looked around. She'd only seen things like this on television. It was a surreal experience. The sight of her son on the ground with dried blood stains around him snapped her back to the real world. "Honey!" she cried, rushing over to him and turning him over. She gasped at the sight of his forehead covered in blood, and began wiping it off with her lab coat.

"Agh, get off me!" Mike cried, pushing her back. "I'm tired of you goddamn people rubbing your hands all over me like I'm some sort of counter top!" He strained his eyes and stood up, a familiar woman and Magneton coming into view. "Proton? M-mom?" Tears began to well up in his eyes.

"Sweetie!" Karen threw her arms around her baby boy, prompting a slight yelp. "I'm so glad you're okay!" Proton buzzed happily and joined the embrace, mimicking the two by folding his magnets over them.

"While I appreciate the concern-" Mike said with a gasp, groaning at his aching head. "I wouldn't say being locked in a padded cell would fall under the blanket term of okay!" She let him go and the two sat down, Karen occasionally licking her lab coat and wiping a stray bit of blood off of his face. "Not now mom!" he wailed.

"Sorry." she said in defeat. "Baby, the doctor told me about everything that happened, is it-"

Mike's eyes widened as his mother talked as he was suddenly reminded of something. "Mom! MOM! They took away my Pokemon!" He sobbed, his arms wriggling under the confines of his straight jacket. "They took away Nitro, and Portabello, and Beacon, and Felsic, and Shiver, and Napalm!" Tears streamed down his face as he recalled the guards forcibly taking his backpack away from him, how his Pokemon released themselves to help only to be recalled by the hospital officials. Portabello nearly threw one of the nurses through a wall to get to him, and even Beacon, who was usually out of it, cried out for his trainer as they dragged him away. "They're all gone mom." Mike buried his face into the floor and cried. "My only friends, gone! I WANT THEM BACK!" He sprang to his feet and ran to the door, headbutting it again. "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TAKE THEM AWAY FROM ME!" Slam!

"Honey, stop!" Karen ran and tried to pry him away, but Mike just shook free from her grasp. Proton spun around in confusion, unable to think of what he could do to help aside from zapping him. Something told him that wouldn't fix much.

"GIVE THEM BACK TO ME RIGHT NOW!" Slam! "THEY'RE ALL I HA-HAVE LEFFFFFfffft!" The last slam was a lot weaker, and the boy broke down in tears. "Mo-ha-haaaaaaam!" he wailed. "I want my Pokemon back!" The door flung open and the two guards and the doctor came in, accompanied by a nurse.

"For god's sake where are they!?" Mrs. Kyoka screamed as she cradled her son.

"I'm sorry ma'am!" one of the guards said frantically. "We can't let patients access their Pokemon, but we have them in Dr. Rogers office. We were planning on giving them to you for safe keeping!"

"I want to see Nitroooo!" Mike cried between sobs. "Napalm just evolved and I just had a good battle with Shiver! Beacons probably worried about me! H-he's frail, he needs me to tell him everything's alright! Go ask Portabello! Felsic is going to be SO MAD AT YOU GUYS FOR LOCKING ME IN HERE!" He snarled and shook in his mother's tight embrace, who held him close and kissed him on the head. It calmed him down, and in a moment he was reduced to simple sobbing. "Everything I love is getting take from me..." he said quietly. "First Flannery, then all my friends, now my Pokemon..."
