Look into the idea of inter-connectivity. If every aspect of your character, from the points/chapters of their history, to their abilities, personality, etc are all "points", try to "connect" every point to every other point as much as possible, try to make all aspects of the character interwoven into who they are. Everything influences everything.
You should be able to draw a metaphorical thread right through the profile that connects a majority of the character's aspects to one another; on more than one occasion sometimes.
That concept generally helps make a character very cohesive and realistic (in terms of whether or not the character is believable), and moreso for the player it's easier to understand and balance the character, not to mention play them.

I see Saphen's character and I'm tempted to think of the Harpists from Kung Fu Hustle.
Man that fight was awesome.

Vash Sengou I have always been primarily a long range fighter. Most if not all of my characters have had amazing long range capabilities and praised for them, but the shittiest close combat skills. I decided to flip the script. This character of mine here does a mixture of both. How I will not say since I have yet to have to reveal it yet but so far I have done well with just using hand to hand combat which has always been a weak area for me. Round four I'm going to have to pull all the stops and use everything this guys got. Same. I prefer long range combat as well. I have always enjoyed the mage like characters but there are issues with how one deals with full close range fighters. I have been judged as dull or over powered in some battles with someone who is purely a physical fighter (rightfully so in some cases) so I have been working on finding a happy medium while still playing into the role of a bard. Since bards are a very typical buffer class I considered him having modes for each branch of fighting. No secret there since I used both of them this tournament but there is something missing and I can't put my finger on it. Something flawed about the system that isn't allowing it to move between forms or styles in any easy or clear manner...That is what I need to work on.

Well, I would have to re-read your matches to help there. I remember my first GTB appearance. I was rather arrogant then and didn't fully understand my opponents gripe about my character. Thinking about it now I can see why.

I intend to do something in Round IV with my character I've been touching on since another competition's beginning. It's terribly simplistic and yet, will shift his approach to battle so very much, dare I say it'll be gangster-assed. Or perhaps more accurately, it'll let him do what he enjoys best at a steep cost.

Let me just reiterate because Vintrict's done it twice now and I fear an unlucky #3: Vintrict, it's "The Haelstrom Fist," not "Haelstrom Fist."

Once Snow receives the functional god-infused p***s, he'll return at the end of the final round kind of like Rufus or Akuma in Capcom vs SNK 2.
Hael will be envious of the power.
