When he did hear, Atem hesitated, pulling away from Bakura, trying to read the other man's expression. Was he kidding? Was this some kind of trick to get him into admitting something that wasn't true? But no, there was no sign of amusement on Bakura's face. Only sincerity. Atem had to choose his words carefully. "Well, I... You have to understand that I..." Damn! It shouldn't be this awkward. Atem laughed suddenly, looking away from Bakura. "Don't flatter yourself, Bakura. Even if I did feel anything towards you, be it lust or more, do you really think I'd sink low enough to risk my reputation as pharaoh to be with you? There are plenty of alternatives for me." Atem couldn't help but laugh; the question seemed utterly ridiculous to him, once the awkwardness wore away. "But to answer your question, it's a solid no. Never have, never will. It'd be against my morals, anyway. You've got a wife and kids. Sheesh." Bakura felt embarrassed, but knew this would fade away after a while. He had to ask, just to see how the pharaoh reacted. He wasn't sure how to take what Atem said, but he was put at ease, for now. He looked away, blushing despite his best efforts not to. "Just making sure. I've heard rumors about you and Seto in some of the bars I've been to, I wasn't sure if it was something special about the priest or if you jumped every man who had a higher position than a servant." It was so easy to manipulate the conversation. And the look on Atem's face after hearing this was priceless. "What?! They said what?" Atem asked, gawking at Bakura. He spluttered, "How dare they! That isn't even funny, much less true! It's disgusting! Oh, by the gods, I think I'm going to be sick..." His reaction wasn't some overly faked one; he was sincerely going to be sick. "He's my COUSIN! And we-- he doesn't even-- ugh!"

From inside the room you could sudenly hear rei burst out in laughter. Nanu had been holding kek and kek desided to give her a slobery kiss "your drooly..." rei said as she picked up kek. Nanu wiped the drool from her cheak "I see that..."

Bakura and Atem's conversation ended soon after that, without much awkwardness. Bakura stumbled slightly, and Atem grabbed his arm to help keep him stable. Bakura would have shrugged the pharaoh off, but was still feeling wobbly. He didn't say anything as they entered the room, but just sat down on the ground.

Kek who dident seem to notice atem now was more interested in playing with nanu. Nanu had always been good with children. Femi who saw her father squeeled happly and tryed to get him. Rei walked over and set femi in bakuras lap. This made femi very very happy as she cooed and babbled.

Bakura closed his eyes. Completely opposite of Nanu, he had never been good with children-- that even counted his own. Sure, he never let it show, but he couldn't stand how Rei would always plop one of the infants in his lap when he sat down. His head was throbbing, and he was beginning to feel wound up. It hadn't even been an hour in the palace and already he was wanting out. He would never be able to stay in this place long enough until Atem saw that they were fit to go. "I have to go find Seto..." Atem said, brushing dirt off of his knees. "Nanu, stay here. Well, you don't have to, but it would be wise to just stick around until I know where Seto is."

Femi was relaxed nuzzling into his arms. Bakura was going to have to learn how to deal with children because..they were his! She cooed gently.

"hopfully" rei replyed back in japanese "I hate being here.were in more danger being here then out in the middle of the desert" rei said. Femi clung to her father tugging on his jacket.

"What about that girl?" Bakura gestured slightly towards Nanu. He forgot himself and switched unknowingly, to his native tongue, forgetting Nanu was in the room. "Well, no, that wouldn't work. He needs to be with royalty. That was why Seto had killed Amenitre before, since she was born a girl and to a common whore."

"What!" nanu said looking up. rei sighed and struck her on the neck. nanu fell limp on the bed. Rei took kek from her and laid her down. "If the childs male steo wont care as much." rei said " I think."
