Kasiya couldn't help but grin. Paralysis, she thought excitedly. I don't care if it's just luck helping me with this battle, I want to win! "Go Flash, Thundershock again!"
"Jolt!" the Jolteon cried, taking a few steps forward. Sparks flared from its body as it launched a massive bolt of lighting at the Dodrio, completely KO'ing it. Kasiya laughed sheepishly; Flash had effectively committed "Overkill" by using a Thunderbolt instead.
"You have to stop doing that," Kasiya hissed at him through clenched teeth. The Jolteon just shrugged and grinned at her, allowing his spiked fur to relax a little. "No really, you have to listen to what I tell you."
"Ahem." The nameless trainer had recalled his Dodrio, and held up a strange-looking Pokeball Kasiya had never seen before. "This is a Safari Ball," he told Kasiya sharply. "They give them to you to use in the Safari Zone. I battled with your friend after I thrashed you, and one of his Pokemon inspired me." With that, he flung the Safari Ball forward, and it landed, revealing a Pokemon that made Kasiya's heart sink low in her chest - a sleek Dragonair.

Keegan couldn't help but be impressed by Apollo every time he saw him. The silver and black Ponyta was agile and clever, and he responded to Dante's orders swiftly. "Now if only Themis would be as obedient, we wouldn't have a problem," he murmured to Helios, who nodded eagerly. The Electrike always did have little regard for battle commands, often opting to act on his own. "After Dante is finished here, we'll be boarding the train and heading to Mauville. I can't wait to challenge Wattson..." Keegan grinned, and continued to watch the battle in anticipation of his own upcoming gym match.

"Stun Spore!" the gym leader called, a slight quiver in her voice. Erika was fairly certain that this challenger would walk out of here with her Rainbow Badge today, but she wasn't going to give in that easily. Victreebel's leaf lifted up again, revealing once more its sharp fangs. The carnivorous plant bulged out like a balloon, and then expelled a golden yellow powder that billowed out into the area where the silver Ponyta would land.

The trainer just smiled at Kasiya's unease towards the dragon Pokemon. "They can be pretty formidable," he laughed, and pointed at the Jolteon. "Let's show that spiky rat who is boss! Use your Dragon Rage!"
The Dragonair, resting gently on the ground blinked its eyes and wriggled its feathery ears before it rose up, taking a deep breath and letting out a ring of blue flames that engulfed Flash. The Jolteon shook it off, glancing over his shoulder to see what his trainer would tell him.
"Quick Attack!" Kasiya called, rubbing her chin thoughtfully. Dragons are weak against what again? Electricity? Fire? Gah, I can't remember... She watched as Flash darted forward, a streak of yellow as he shoulder-tackled the Dragon-type, only to be wrapped up tightly by several feet of coils.

Nina released her newly-caught Rhyhorn from his Pokeball. Rhyhorn looked around a little bit, then looked to Nina. "Now, Mister Rhyhorn," Nina began, "I'd like to start out by saying--" Nina stopped speaking as Rhyhorn backed up several feet and started to run around in a circle. He appeared to be chasing his tail.
Nina and Anna simply watched on in awe. "What... what the hell is he doing?" Nina asked increduously. Anna grinned. "So, what was that about him being the most powerful Pokemon you own?"
"We don't know that he's not strong," Nina retorted, looking to her Pokemon. "And, I thought I told you to go play in traffic." The psychic averted her gaze back to the Pokemon that she deemed had less than the average intelligence quotient. "Hey. Rhyhorn!" she called. "Rhyhorn!"
Rhyhorn was oblivious to Nina at the moment. He seemed rather content chasing his tail. Nina's eye twitched. "Hey... Pookie!" she screamed to the Pokemon. Rhyhorn immediately stopped what he was doing, and looked over to Nina. He waddled to his trainer, and sat down.
Nina stared in amazement. The only word that she could muster was, "Wow."

As Apollo landed he did get caught in the spores that were in his little safe zone. Upon breathing them in he felt his muscles seize up a bit ready to fully tense at any moment. Seeing the Stun Spore effect Apollo caused Dante to grown, the fire horses ability to move had all ready been cut down enough by the Acid attack and now he was paralized. 'At least Apollo has distance attacks, if he can even use them.' He thought tiredly to himself. "All right then, Apollo use your Ember attack." Apollo nodded and his mane and tail flicked around some scattering embers all through out the arena. Dante just hoped that some of them hit.

"Jolteon!" Flash cried, struggling against the Dragonair's coils, but it only caused the dragon to squeeze even harder. Flash groaned, squeezing his eyes shut and blasting the attacking dragon with a Thundershock. The attack may have been fairly ineffective, but it forced Dragonair to loosen its hold, and Flash squirmed out, wincing as he put as much distance as he could between himself and the dragon.
"Slam attack!" the nameless trainer ordered, his smirk-ever present as Dragonair moved forward, lifting its tail high in the air and bringing it down with a loud crash. Flash rolled to the right, and barely managed to be caught in the attack. He glared angrily at the dragon, hissing like a Persian.
This isn't good, Flash can barely scratch it, Kasiya thought fearfully. Damn! Why can't I remember what Dragons are weak against?! "Flash! Use Hidden Power!" the girl cried desperately, having nearly forgotten that she'd taught him that TM.
"Jolt!" Flash's eyes began to shine with an icy glow, his spiked fur standing on end. A second later, a ring of orange orbs circled his body, forming in front of him like a miniature sun. "Jolt!" he cried again, and the orange glow changed to a frosty blue, and a beam of ice rocketed towards the Dragon, covering its slender body in a thin sheet of ice. The ice muffled its pained cries, and it slammed itself into the ground once, shards of ice flaking off in all directions. It trembled before the Jolteon, significantly weaker than before.
"Of course!" Kasiya gasped, smacking herself lightly in the forehead and laughing. "Dragons are weak against ice! Flash has Hidden Power Ice!"

Victreebel gave a muffled screech, the embers singing its body in various places. The Flycatcher Pokemon fanned itself with its two large leaves for a moment, and then swung its vine dauntingly at the paralyzed Ponyta. It waved its leaf a few times, before opening its mouth wide and launching a Sludge Bomb at the fire horse. This version of the poisonous attack was much larger than Vileplume's had been, signifying a large difference between the two Grass-types' attack power.

It was about time the Beecrill dodged some attacks. The large bee Pokemon flew spiral around the gust attack before charging in with another twin needle. "Good job Beedrill. Hit 'em hard!" Jake cried watching his Pokemon hold back the left needle for the second strike once more.
"Let's stop her Arri," Kevin called out, "String Shot!" The colorful Ariados jumped back a few steps before spraying a sticky white substance aimed straight for Akira. The gooey spider webs caught Akira and wrapped around her several times completely immobilizing her. Rin gritted her teeth, she was in full battle mode now. Pretty much all of Akira's attack could no longer be preformed. "Fake Tears!" Rin shouted finding that to her only option. The Mawile burst into tears. Aridos's guard was lowered along with it's defenses as he watched what appeared to be a suffering Akira.

Returning to the business at hand Mitsu faced Sapphire and Zyphyr. "Good job you two," Mitsu said. She couldn't help but flash a kind smile at the two of them. They were like two hotheaded brothers. Sort of anyways. She recalled both of them before heading back into the Cerulean City Pokemon Center.
"Back again already?" Nurse Joy inquired.
"Yeah. We're training and I was hoping it wouldn't be too much of a problem for you to heal up my Pokemon?"
"Not a problem." Mitsu handed the pink haired nurse Zyphyr's and Sapphire's balls before taking a seat on one of the couches. She took a few minutes to replay the amazing battle last night. Sapphire and Ivy had done such a wonderful job. She'd really have to try to have them fight together in a double battle. "Oh that's right!" Mitsu half shouted to herself. "I need to tell everyone about the party at Slateport."
After a few moments of digging in her bag she found the red device. I really need to find a better place for this thing. She highlighted several names. Nina, Kilik, Kasiya, and Mag being at the top of them. She had highlighted Mike and Dante as well but she figured that they didn't need a second message. The note read:
Violet (Dante's mom if you don't know her) has invited you guys to the summer festival she's hosting at Slateport on July first. Hope to see you there! -^^-
Satisfied with her text message she hit the send button before placing the Pokenav back into the seemingly endless bag full of stuff. "What should I do now?" she half sighed. She needed to train Nightmare for the upcoming battle against Flannery, but she'd also like to give Haku a bit of training too. Maybe he could even be strong enough to put up a good fight if he got enough training in. "But who to send back to the Professor?"

Aska's missed Gust attack had stirred up a lot of debris and fallen leaves from the forest-like terrain inside the gym. Miharu watched as it settled for a second, an idea forming in her head. Dad always told me to be aware of my surroundings during a battle, she thought, wincing as the great bee flew towards the smaller Pidgey.
"Quickly Aska! Sand-Attack!" Miharu yelled, her voice loud and firm. She rarely raised her voice in front of other people like that, but it seemed that Rin's fierce battle spirit was contagious. The small Pidgey flapped her wings as fast as she could, causing the Beedrill to be met by a face full of dirt, grit and sand from the gym's floor. The tiny bird then dropped down, avoiding the Beedrill's first strike completely and suffering a scratch from the second. Miharu smiled; Aska's resistance to bug type attacks would help her survive this battle a little longer.

Taking advantage of Daemyn and Ulani's "quarreling," the Bug Catcher across from M.A. commanded his two Pokemon to attack first; unlike their opponents, they worked together. The Ledyba tackled Daemyn roughly, knocking him over and consequently taking away Ulani's balance as well (she had hung on to his head all the time, after all). With her on the ground, she barely had enough time to realize that Hoothoot was coming with another tackle, and was hit hard.
M.A. grimaced; these Pokemon were stronger than the others she had seen so far in this forest, far stronger. She was glad to see her two Pokemon climb back onto their feet, though, albeit a little bit more shakier than before. "Daemyn, smog, but only at those other two!" The puppy seemed to ignore the last part of those instructions, though, swinging his head around and letting that poisonous gas spread just about everywhere -- Ulani barely floated above the purple cloud, just saving herself from the damage. She chirped indignantly at the Houndour, but he haughtily ignored her. "No, don't do that," M.A. groaned. "Guys, you're on the same side!"
On the positive side, although Ledyba didn't seem too affected the the smog attack, Hoothoot was tottering on its one foot. It must've been poisoned. We might be able to take it out, and it'll be easier to face one instead of two, M.A. thought. "'Lani, peck!" The bird swung in with its small white beak (now that the smog was gone), ready to make contact, when the Ledyba beside the Hoothoot suddenly jumped in front and let forth a supersonic screech.
Ulani's world suddenly turned upside down, with everything distorted; she couldn't tell one thing from another, being terribly confused. Instead of hitting the Hoothoot, she dived into the ground, hurting herself. For yet another time, M.A. groaned; how long did confusion last?
"Hooti, just take it easy for now, don't let that poison spread! Growl," the Bug Catcher called, watching confidently as the bird chirped cutely. However, Daemyn couldn't care less how cute a Pokemon was, and attacked relentlessly nevertheless on command, letting loose an ember from his jaws (although he trampled over Ulani in the process). "Daemyn, watch for Ulani too. ." M.A. shook her head. How terribly this was going. .

The attack hit Apollo head on causing the fire pony to give a startled cry as he stumbled slightly. "Apollo hang in there, use Flamethrower if you can!" Came Dante's comand from the side. THe pony pokemon moved to obey but studdenly the paralisus kicked in causing Apollo to freeze unable to go through with the attack. "Damn it." Dante cursed softly irritated all ready at the fact that Apollo couldn't move as he wanted.

The nameless trainer was looking panicked now; he hadn't expected such a drastic improvement in the girl's battling skills. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as Kasiya called for Flash to fire away with another Hidden Power, once again nailing the Dragonair's weakness. It slumped, icy crystals still clinging to its body as it was recalled.
"Flash! You're doing great!" Kasiya cried, jumping up and down in excitement. The Jolteon turned back and winked at his trainer, only to look back and find himself face to face with a large, red crablike Pokemon. It snapped its pincers several times, glaring at the smaller yellow Pokemon before it. Crawdaunt, Kasiya thought glumly, remembering how cruelly it had pummled Hiro with its vicious Crabhammer attacks. It was a higher-level Pokemon, that's for sure. If Flash were to stand a chance at beating it, both he and Kasiya would have to play it smart.

Akira was pretty much useless tied up like a cacoon. With that thought an idea struck her. Bugsy's Metapod wasn't helpless and neither was Akira. "Tackle it!" Rin called just as Bugsy would have done. Even though Tackle was not an attack Akira knew she jumped forwards and rammed all her weight into the Bug Pokemon. She landed on her side, even more helpless now. Rin would have to think of something quick otherwise they were through, even if the Ariados looked considerably weaker.
Jake watched helplessly as Beedrill missed then took a face full of sand. "Shake it off Beedrill! Go in with a Fury Attack!" he shouted as it flew in for another attack.
