"He is?"

Miyuki blinked up at her ada.

"Why?"

She couldn't imagine why her ada-tol would get in trouble for talking like that unless some people might not like the idea he found looking at the same shops for two weeks as boring.

"Well, for one thing, I think he's being silly," Earendil smiled at MIyuki. "For another, he might offend someone around us, and that wouldn't be good. After all, this is their home, and I think if he said he was bored after only two weeks, they might not take it kindly. The elves are a proud people, after all, sometimes it doesn't take much to insult them."

Just then, Leilani and the others returned, ready to go. Aethos and Leilani were talking together cheerfully, but Alassëa seemed quieter than usual - understandable, considering she had just said goodbye to the one man she felt had truly raised her, the man she remembered better than her own father.

"Oh...." Miyuki thought about it, it made sense after all she liked some of the places she had been to and if someone had told her it was boring she probably would have been put off too if she lived there.

"Silly ada-tol," she giggled, "If you went sailing with us would you be really bored then?"

Daeron had to think about that.

"I'm not sure," he admitted. "I mean ... I would love the traveling and seeing new things, but I think that after two days or so on a ship where the sights on the horizon wouldn't change ... well, they'd better have some way to keep me busy."

Earendil laughed at his brother. "At any rate, we've got to get going if we're going to make good progress today," he grinned. "Mount up, will you?"

Daeron chuckled softly. "Yeah, yeah ..." He grinned at Miyuki. "You riding a horse or a wagon today?"

"Riding!" Miyuki exclaimed.

Because it had been a long time since she rode and she did like riding on a horse on occasion even if it wasn't the the smoothest ride ever.

"Please!"

Daeron laughed. "Well if you're asking for permission, I'm not the one to ask!" he chuckled, ruffling her hair. "Ask your father. And keep in mind he's going to have to make sure that there are enough horses free for you to ride."

If most of the people were riding, then she would be stuck in a wagon, no matter what, after all.

Without even thinking about it, Miyuki was already trying to flatten her hair (somewhat like the way her mother use to do as a child only she didn't mind getting her hair ruffled).

"Okay!"
she skittered off to her ada, "Ada! Can I ride a horse today?"

Earendil was amused by how excited Miyuki was. "Sure. Come on, let's go find a couple of horses."

He turned to look at his wife. "Lin, are you going to ride? Or are you going to go in a wagon, since you have Andarien?"

"I'll go in a wagon, it'll be easier that way," Lin admitted.

Perhaps when Andarien was one more stage older she could ride with him, but not yet.

"You two go on and find some horses before Miyuki gets too antsy."

it was amazing how even after all the traveling they had done she still bounced around when it was time to leave.

And so Earendil and Miyuki went off to find some horses.

There weren't quite enough horses to go around, so in the end, Elros decided to ride in the wagon with Alena - since of course Shiloh was still too young to go on a horse for long periods of time - and such was the arrangement when they set out.

"So what's our next destination?" asked Iorlas, who was sitting with Lin in the back of one of the wagons.

Lin thought about it, and then realized she didn't remember what was the next location.

"I don't remember," she finally admitted.

She turned to see if she could spot whoever was driving the wagon they were in this time to ask.

Alena was driving the wagon this time around, and Elros was sitting next to her on the driver's bench. He was the one holding Shiloh, which the infant seemed to like. It was different for her, usually her father was riding a horse and her mother was carrying her. The two were sitting quite comfortably and at ease, chatting away happily as the scenery passed them by.

Iorlas watched the two quietly for a moment, then smiled. "Shall we ask them, then?" she asked Lin, tilting her head slightly as she looked back at her friend.

"I'll do that," Lin nodded as she shifted in the wagon a bit since she was still holding Andarien.

Besides, Andarien might be happy to see Shiloh for all she knew.

"Elros," she called over softly, "Iorlas and I were wondering, mainly because I forgot, where are we heading to next?"

Elros turned slightly in his seat so that he was looking at Lin and Iorlas over his shoulder. He smiled at the two women.

"To the beautiful city of Chansond'eau, the capital of the Westland," he replied. "It is home of their Majesties, King Eregon and Queen Amalthea - uncle and aunt to Prince Earendil - as well as the rest of the royal family. It is much larger than the towns that we have been passing through thus far. Its name is derived from the phenomenon it was built around - the singing water of the waterfall and river that runs through it."

Alena laughed. "You sound as if we're already there, and you're guiding us through the city," she teased her husband.

Elros chuckled. "It has been quite a while since I was there last, but I believe I remember enough to be able to guide those who wish on a tour through the city."

Lin's eyes lit up at that, "I've heard of the city, Triton's been there once."

Granted it was so long ago who knew what had changed since then, but she heard stories from her brother about how Tao (who she didn't really remember of), Elnara and he walked into the city.
