"Touche," Annie replied, "we'll just call it a tie." She really did want to win, though she did have to give Jun some credit. He was pretty slick and the game had managed to entertain her for the better part of the morning. "And yes, just not bad. I speak the truth, Jun dear, and yes. Women are pretty damn hard to please." Annie laughed, it was true. She definately wasn't one for commitment.
"My skin?" Annie replied. She really do much to make it glow or look so positively beautiful. "I don't do much to be honest. Just some lotion is all. I suppose I was born with." The answer would probably disappoint the poor man, but Annie really could care less. "And I haven't had any time t find a good nail saloon to fix these horrible things," she replied, turning her hand so that the palm was face up before curling in her finger to examine her nails. They really were terrible, and her nail polish could use a replacement coat. "So, how's your luck been with the guys?" she asked, returning her arms into a folded position.

"BOOOOMBS AWAAAAAAY!" cried the familiar voice.
"H-huh?" Mike looked around frantically, scrambling to get up. He planted himself against the Gym door and reached for Nitro's Pokeball. "Get away from me, don't yo-" WHAM.
And then everything went black.
---- Sasha and Omelette watched as Johto disappeared from view amidst a sea of trees. The girl pointed out the occasional Sudowoodo in the forest, the Azumarill squeaking merrily regardless of her not knowing what a 'soo-doh-wuud-oh' was. "Vous êtes trop mignons." Sasha said sweetly, running a gentle finger over the mouse's round tummy. "I wonder what you evolve into..." mused the girl, digging through her bag for her Pokedex. She still had a little bit of time before they arrived in Celadon, so she might as well.
"Azurill: the Polka Dot Pokemon." the robotic voice of the Pokedex rang out.
"Polka...dot?" Sasha raised an eyebrow. "Where?"
"A Pokémon that lives by water." it continued. "It moves quickly on land by bouncing on its big tail. Its tail is filled with nutrients necessary for growth. It plays by bouncing on its tail." It then prompted which sub-menu was needed. Sasha selected "Evolutionary Line", she could always check moves later. "Evolves into Marill the Aqua Mouse Pokemon via happiness," the screen displayed a very similar looking Pokemon with a cute white stomach and actual arms.
"Précieux." Sasha cooed.
"And Azurill the Aqua Rabbit Pokemon at level 18." The screen blinked to a picture of a much taller Pokemon, with very long rabbit-like ears. Its once full color stomach was now broken up with cute white spots.
"There's your 'polka-dot Pokemon'," said the girl with a smile, snapping the device shut, looking at Omelette. The Azurill wore a simple smile as it looked back to its trainer, letting out a happy squeak to let her know it wanted some more attention. Sasha simply could not resist the baby's adorable noises, and was soon showering Omelette with kisses as the train neared its stop.

He closed his eyes and tried to imagine it. No matter how hard he tried, he was certain that he'd never be able to picture it exactly how it went down. He was disheartened; he'd never be able to see Cable evolve again. It was a once in a life time opportunity. He sighed - at least somebody got to see it. That big burly guy. He sniffled and fell back onto the bed, his hand nearly slipping out of Mitsu's. "Oh well..." he sighed, "You saw most of it, it sounds. I'm..." he yawned, "Gonna try and get more rest. You'll still be here when I wake up, right?" Kilik looked over at her and smiled.
And then he was out like a light.

Mazarin recalled his Shuckle, laughing heartily. He felt like a super hero. Man, if he had a cape, it'd be flowing in the wind right now! He sent out his Shiftry and had the kabuki carry Mike for him. "Saffron City is the way to go!" he said, walking to the north. That was, after all, the only place he could think of that had a mental institution this close by. As they walked, Mazarin lightly slapped Mike's face a few times. "Silly booooy. Thinking you can outsmart me. Nobody can outsmart Mazarin! I'm the smartest, most clever, most physically fit!" he struck another heroic pose.
"Yet nobody seems to realize it..." he sighed, "But regardless!" Another few slaps around, "I won, you lost. And that's the cost, my friend, of victory! Someone's gotta be the loser here and it was you. You lose. Loser." He blew a massive raspberry in his face. "So Shiftry. What's it like to be in the presence of a God among men?" He had an imaginary microphone in his hand that he held up to the Pokemon's mouth. Shiftry replied with a laugh. "That's what I thought!" He said animatedly.
As they continued to walk, he met up with a group of white coated men. They looked very official. In fact, they were from the mental institute! "Hey boys!" Mazarin said, handing Mike over to them, "Mind if I come along?" And using their Gardevoir, the group plus Mazarin, Mike, and Shiftry teleported straight to the institution.

Combusken's fierce kicks were more than enough to finish off the already weakened Vigoroth and it hit the ground hard, twitching. The trainer growled and recalled it, looking to his partner. Keegan just grinned as once more Shiva plowed into the bug and it too hit the ground, icy patches covering its limbs and abdomen. "Game, set, match," Keegan said with a slight shrug, looking around the area with slight disappointment. He had to admit that yesterday, when they'd been battling with even a small crowd watching, it had made him feel important, like he actually was something. But now, no one was around at all. Well, maybe not no one. His gaze came to rest on a familiar figure with raven hair, and a black, rather flattering, form-fitting dress and...
Keegan blinked and rubbed his eyes. Nah, there was no way that it could be Riza standing over there by that tree. His mind was obviously playing tricks on him, though he was certain that if seeing her truly was a trick of the mind, she probably wouldn't be fully dressed, perhaps even lacking a towel this time...
And then suddenly there was one-hundred and ninety-three pounds of Sealeo practically flying through the air and Keegan found himself to be pinned to the ground, as well as in excruciating pain. Upon seeing her opponent fall Shiva had decided the appropriate way to celebrate her first win with her new trainer would be to hug him, or in her case, Body Slam him to the ground. The poor Sealeo didn't know her own strength and it wasn't until she heard the redhead's continual string of curse words that she realized what she'd done and she quickly got up off her trainer, her eyes apologetic. For a few grueling seconds Keegan just laid there, staring up at the sky and wondering just how much more physical pain he could possibly go through within the next twenty-four hours. He was definitely close to setting a new personal best. ===== The small girl blinked a few times, not really sure what was going on. Replacement gym leader? She'd never heard of something like that before. Was it even legal? Official even? The last thing she wanted was to win a badge, then have some big hoity-toity guy from the Pokemon League come and take her badge away, or something ridiculous like that. "Sure, I guess that'd be fine," Miharu said with a shrug, scratching the back of her head somewhat awkwardly. For some reason her nervousness melted away but she chalked that up to this girl, Blanca, not being the actual gym leader. Miharu tugged on her green ponytail a bit before putting her hands on her hips. For the first time in well, forever, she was actually brimming with confidence. She unhooked a Pokeball from her belt and held it up, smiling over at Blanca. "Let's do this, then."

"Alright!" Blanca cheered, trying to keep her game face on. Whitney trusted me to guard her position for now, so I'm gonna damn well do it, Blanca repeated to herself in her mind, taking a deep breath. In truth, she wasn't quite sure she really was good enough to have been chosen to be the temporary mistress of the house, but this insecurity was overshadowed by her determination not to disgrace the Goldenrod Gym name. She could never do that! Whitney, who she looked up to so much, would be terribly disappointed in her if she did.
And so being the acting Gym Leader and what not, she acted like she was as able and sure as Whitney was in the rink. "We'll do three on three! No time limit, no items, but you may switch out as you like." With a swift flick of her slender wrist, she tossed a Pokeball up into the air, revealing with a jagged flash of red light her trusty Granbull. "Your move first," she said with a grin. Her nervous energy had transformed into adrenaline now that her Pokemon were out. For all her fear of failure, she did genuinely love to battle.

Monsoon sat down, slightly exhausted from the battle, and did his best to pat himself on the back for a job well done. Following that, he withdrew himself into his shell for some well deserved nap.
"Good job pal," Kevin said as he pulled out his Pokeball. As he recalled his tired Pokemon, the trainer turned to the girl and shook her hand. "You're a pretty good trainer yourself. I just came from Olivine City. Nice place I suppose." Kevin looked around for a moment. "Wheeeeeeelp, I guess I wont keep ya then." Kevin walk backwards down the path a bit and waved, "See ya around!"

"I will be," Mitsu replied simply before he fell alseep. She placed his hand back onto the bed, relucant to let it go, before pulling the blanket over him a bit more. "Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite," she giggled slightly before exiting the room, closing the door as softly as she could.
Out in the main lobby Mitsu handed Nurse Joy Apollo's, Karri's, and Ebony's Pokballs. She would have taken Kilik's too, but she couldn't tell which one was Cable's and which one was Aggron's. "You seemed really worried," Joy commented as she placed the spheres onto a tray for a Chansey to carry off. Mitsu smiled sheepishly, "Yeah. I don't know why he keeps getting hurt."
Joy walked round the before looking Mitsu in the eye. "You're a sweet girl," she said, laying her hand onto the short girl's shoulder. "Make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble." She just smiled before leaving, off to attend to some duties that running a Pokemon Center probably entailed.
Mitsu smiled, not really oo sure what the nurse had meant by that. Ah well. The girl walked over to the cafeteria, grabbing a drink of apple juice herself. Orange was fine, but given the choice she would have picked apple any day.
After a snack Mitsu meandered her way back to Kilik's room, almost getting run over by a Chansey in the hallway on her way back. She pushed open the door slowly before entering. He was still alseep. She took her seat again, hands folded in her lap. The room was quiet and the calm was very much welcome after that horrid amount of noise from yesterday.

"Owww..." grumbled the boy as he slowly opened his eyes to painfully bright lights. They looked familiar, just like the ones in Vermillion Gym. He must have passed out after his little freak out. Surge must have dragged him back inside. It's funny, because he almost felt like he was...moving. "Wait." Mike snapped his head up; he was definitely moving. The boy's heart sank to his stomach when the clarity returned to his vision and he realized just where he was. Saffron Hospital! he stifled a gasp.
Yeah, and you can bet we're not here for our flu shot. Milo replied with an angry sigh.
What happened? What am I going to do?! He was being led down a long hallway by two men. He didn't risk looking around or moving; they probably though he was still knocked out.
You had a hissy fit and the moron with the fake wings got the drop on you. said Milo, His usual condescending tone ever present as he told his other half what happened. This is why we're so pathetic, because you let your little feelin's get hurt over nothing, and we end up in here!
Wait, hey, first off, 'little feelin's' isn't wha-
You know what they're going to do to us in here boy? interrupted Milo with a whisper. They're going to lock us up and throw away the key. They'll drug us, and give us our own little mattress cube to play around with, and a nice new coat. I hear they put 'em on a bit tight though. Strangely enough, he sounded almost...happy.
How can you be so calm?! Mike thought, sweat pouring down his face as he looked around. ...you didn't. You planned this you b*****d! Milo laughed.
If I wanted you locked up I would have roasted those two brats back at the party rather than letting them off with a flaming slap on the wrist. No, I didn't plan this, but there's not much more I can do but watch you squirm. After all, we're going to be here for a long time, we might as well get comfortable.
No. No way in hell was that happening. He was not going to be locked up in a crazy house for the rest of his life. He was just a kid, he had his whole life ahead of him! He needed to get out, he had to, no matter what! "AAAAGGGHHHH!" with a shriek, Mike lifted his head back and slammed it into the side of the man to his right's head, his grip on the boy releasing. His right arm free, the boy raked his nails across the face of the surprised man to his left. He screamed and clutched his face as the room swarmed with guards. "Get out of my way! You're not keeping me in here!" he cried, wiping the blood from his hands.
"Now listen kid, just calm down." one of the guards said in a practiced tone. "We don't want to hurt you."
"HA-HA-HA-HAHAHAHAHA!" laughed Mike in reply. "I-I know exactly what you want to do to me! You want to lock me up forever, you want to seal me away from the world. NEVER!" Unfortunately for Mike, the guards were too many and much, much stronger, and despite his best efforts, he was tackled and fitted into a straight jacket. They had forgotten his gloves, and they were wrapped up with him inside the jacket. Perfect. As they dragged him away, Mike turned to Maz with a sinister grin on his lips. "Hee-hee-hee-hee!" he cackled, nodding his head. "You think you've won? Haha, no my friend. Not at all. You have no idea who you're messing with. Just you wait. I'll be out here soon. And then...
...we're going to kill you. Hn-hn-hn-hn-hn...Hahahahaha, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!" His laughter echoed throughout the halls as the boy was lead to his new cell.
After the spectacle, one of the doctors approached Mazarin. "Son I'm going to need you to come with me. You have to tell us a bit about the patient and how you brought him here while we wait for his family. Please, this way." He motioned to his office.

Kadaj hopped off the counter and ran between Alice's ankles while yipping in triumph. Alice giggled, "you are such a verbose winner Kadaj!" she said as she picked him up. She thanked the nurse and gave a kind of half bow out of habit. And skipped out the door.
Alice looked out at the crowd and noticed a familiar ashy blond mane. She flung her arm up in the air and waved. "Hey!" she shouted and beckoned Aidan over. "Did you see? I won two battles today!" She jumped up and down in excitement. After calming down she wanted to ask some questions. "So, were did you disappear off to? It was so random..." she paused, "I had a, sort of, half breakfast until I was challenged by a strange kid. THEN his crazy brother challenged me! It's been so wild today!" She was overly excited and it made her cheeks turn pink.

Seeing how excited that Alice was about her wins Aidan couldn't help but smile slightly at her. Reaching up he ruffled her hair through her hat. "Congratulations on the wins." Bending down slightly he patted the cute little Eevee at her side. "I am sure you did good to." Getting up again he couldn't help but be happy for the girl who had just gotten her first two wins back to back.
"Sorry I skipped out on you both this morning. I was feeling bad about taking advantage of the whole place. So I was in the kitchen helping the chef make the breakfast you only ate half of." He paused and thought for a moment before offering. "I am sure I could go fix you something else if you are still hungry. Or we could go look around town. I am sure we could find something to do, that is if you want to spend time with me. You can go off by yourself if you want to."
There was plenty to do in Hearthome, there were people trying to sell tours everywhere to various places. Aidan had never seen anything quite like it before. There were contest tours, Aidan was pretty sure it wasn't even contest season here yet, gym tours, he had heard the gyms were closed to challengers right now, in the back he was pretty sure he saw a ghost tour to, like ghosts actually (existed pokemon didn't count). Still there was a lot of stuff for them to do if Alice did want to spend time. He hoped she would pick soon all the shouting was starting to hurt his ears and getting away would be nice. In the back of his mind he wondered if Jun was all right. He might not like the boy but that didn't mean he was totally heartless.

Riza pouted a little when she realized the battle was over already, though she grinned impishly when Keegan looked her way. 'I guess he remembers me,' she thought, wincing a little when the blue Pokemon tackled him to the ground. Deciding today would be a good day to give her pokedex a workout Riza held up the device and scanned the Pokemon. 'The Ball Roll Pokemon, Sealeo. These Pokemon often balance and roll new objects on the tip of their noses to determine texture and smell. Using this method, Sealeo determines whether or not it likes the new object. Sometimes for fun, Sealeo will balance and spin Spheal on their noses.' After reading the entry to herself, Riza read up on Spheal, smiling at just how adorable the little ball-shaped seal was and she put the small computer away, suddenly aware of another presence behind her. Riza casually glanced behind her, smirking a little when she saw Crenu. She was a little surprised to see the little snorunt perched atop his head like a cute little hat and she found the image to be rather endearing. She waved back at the happy little Pokemon before looking over at Keegan again. He seemed to be really hurting and she wandered over to them, paying no notice to the two trainers who'd just lost the match. She acknowledged the blond guy's presence with a small smile and a nod, as he was quite the good-looking guy and she felt it was her duty as a female to appreciate it.
"Do you need a hand?" she asked, walking up to the two boys and looking down at the redhead on the ground, still wearing her mischievous smile. Now that she was closer and could see him better she frowned a little. He looked like he'd been through something awful and she wondered if he'd been part of the ruckus from last night.

When her opponent fell Combusken let out a triumphant cry, kicking and punching the air before striking a rather impressive victory pose. She turned towards Shiva, ready to congratulate her partner but the Sealeo had already lunged at the red-haired boy and knocked him to the ground. Combusken tilted her head to the side and frowned - as exciting as winning a battle was, she didn't think it was necessary to act like that. Clicking her beak somewhat Combusken walked over to Jaeshan and stood beside him, standing tall and proud. Jaeshan reached down and ruffled the feathers on top of her head, quite impressed with just how tough she was. Perhaps she'd be evolving sooner than he thought.
He looked over at the tall, raven-haired girl as she approached them, returning her nod with one of his own. He couldn't be sure but he thought she looked somewhat familiar. "I guess Shiva really likes you," he said, shrugging. "Do you need help getting up?" he asked, aware that the girl had already asked the question.

He opened his eyes after a few hours, yawning loudly. His sleep was pretty uneventful. Just the same dream that he'd been having: the smoke filled room, the cigar smoking man, and him surrounded by a bunch of low down deadbeats. Kilik looked over to Mitsu and smiled. "You stayed," he laughed weakly, sitting back up. The boy put a hand on his head. He felt like he'd been hit by a bag of bricks. He was tired of sitting in the hospital room. He wanted to get up and stretch his legs. "I want to eat," he said, crossing his arms. Now that he thought about it, he was getting rather hungry.
So, taking initiative, he carefully removed the IV and popped the suction cup things from his chest. After he took off all of his mechanical attachments, Kilik swung his legs slowly over the side of the bed and stood up, grabbing one of the paper-like coats that hospitals usually provided and put it on, not bothering to button it up. He felt like his scars were battle scars and he should show them off. Kilik took Mitsu's hand and pulled her up from the chair. "Let's go," he smiled, walking down the hallway towards the cafeteria. He could hear his stomach growling loudly.

Mazarin stuck his thumbs in his ears and made a silly face at Mike as they carried him away. As if he was going to get out. He didn't have to worry about such idle threats like 'going to kill him'. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that...he thought, ...I'd have one dollar. Maz crossed his arms and explained the whole story to the doctor, mostly on the way TO the office.
"Well, you see, at the Slateport Beach Party yesterday, Giovanni..." he shrugged, "Y'know the big cheese over at Team Rocket? Whom, by the way, you should definitely get a cell for here. Anywho, he revealed some information that caused the boy to crack. Turns out that Kyoka is the cause of the Lilycove fiasco two years ago. I always thought he looked pretty auspicious..." he placed a hand on his chin and closed his eyes.
"It was then that I decided to comprehend him!" He slammed his fist into his palm. "Yes, it was I who took him into customary! Obviously it was I, for otherwise I would not be here now speaking to you about my witty capture of the fiend. It only took a mere thought and at the drop of a hat, or rather a Shuckle, he was in my grasp! Then I brought him here to you. Obviously, because he's cooped up in the cell down the way." Mazarin sniffled and crossed his arms again, smiling widely. His mission was done; now he just had to collect his payment.

"No, no, no, I'm fine, really," Keegan grumbled, slowly pulling himself into a sitting position. His chest and back where aching and he silently wondered if this is how people felt after being hit by a bus. He glanced over at Shiva and sighed. "It's all right, Shiva, you just don't know your own strength." Shiva gave a small bark and Keegan recalled her, not needing a repeat of the previous incident. He took a deep breath and attempted to stand but he just couldn't manage it on his own, so after a moment of deliberation he decided that his pride would withstand being helped, and he accepted Jaeshan's outstretched hand and got to his feet. "Well now, that was fun," he said brightly, voice rife with fake enthusiasm, though he did grin at Jae. The blonde had done pretty well though he still didn't feel the need to voice it and instead he turned to Riza. "I see you're still in town, surprisingly. What's up with that?" He mentally frowned and scolded himself. Oh, that's great, Red, just wonderful! Couldn't you have gone with something a little more welcoming, like 'Hey glad to see you're still in one piece, wanna grab a coffee or something?' Perhaps he shouldn't talk at all. Seriously. ===== Miharu grinned as the Granbull was released, remembering from yesterday that this gym seemed to specialize in normal type Pokemon. "All right, Aska! It's showtime!" The small girl threw the red and white sphere straight up into the air, and the energetic Pidgeotto burst forth, screeching loudly. "We've got another important battle today, so let's go for it! Start off with a Twister," the green-haired girl shouted.
Another screech escaped the bird and she began to flap her wings rapidly, creating a a spiraling vortex of wind that she aimed at the Granbull. It sped along the ground, collecting dust and any other small bits of debris light enough to be lifted by the Twister.

The doctor sat down at his desk, offering the winged boy a seat. He nodded every once and a while to Mazarin's story as he suspended his nose with two interlocked hands, adding a 'Hm' or an 'I see' whenever appropriate. "The Lilycove fiasco?" He took in a subtle breath through his nose. "That is very troubling news indeed. He is going to need some extensive counseling to help him cope with all that." The doctor let out a sigh and leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his thinning black and silver hair. He was going to need a heavy cup of coffee for this one. "My boy, I would like to congratulate you on bringing this troubled boy to us. He is clearly a danger to himself and others, and you have our gratitude. I would just like to ask that you stay here while we await for his family so you can answer any questions they might have. I just got off the phone with his mother and she should be here within the hour. May I interest you in anything while you wait?"
---
"LET! ME! OUT!" screamed Mike, each word followed by his forehead slamming into the small glass window of the iron door leading out of the cell. "Raargh!" Blood once again began to seep down his face as he repeatedly slammed his forehead against the door and screamed incoherently at the two men outside his door.
"Jesus." one of the guards said in reply to the cracking glass, taking a nervous step to the side. "You never do get used to it do you?" He looked to the man next to him.
"Nope." said the other, letting out a sigh. "They're all disturbed, but each in their own twisted way. I heard this one had a part in the Lilycove incident a few years ago."
"This one?" the first man said, shocked. "But he's just a kid." He shook his head as he looked back at the boy, who had now fallen back into his hysterical laughing, his hips high in the air as he rubbed his face all over the padded floor.
"It's sad, really." replied the second man. "Breaks your heart to see someone so young that messed up."
---
About an hour passed as the doctor asked Mazarin a few more protocol related questions, such as his previous, if any relation to the patient, a minor background on himself, and then just minor chit-chat. Being a doctor, Mazarin's usual foul and innuendo-heavy talk didn't really bother him much. He just chalked it up to the usual 'kids these days ain't got no brungin' up'. "Once again I'm sorry about all this." the man looked at the clock, it reading past eleven. "The first internment for someone as young as Michael, it can be hard on the parents and-" There was a loud crash outside, causing the doctor to pause. "...and we appreciate any help we can get to make the transfer that much smoothe-." The door to his office slammed open, causing the diplomas on the wall to come crashing down. Standing in the doorway was an extremely angry woman with thick glasses in a lab coat. Floating beside her, while you couldn't really tell, was an equally angry Magneton. She stomped into the room and slammed her hands down on the desk, glaring into the eyes of the doctor.
"Where is my son?" Karen demanded through grit teeth.
