A crackle broke through the festival as the loud speakers suddenly kicked in. An announcement was being made!

"Mr.Sweet. Mr. Julian Sweet. You are needed at the date auction booth. You are needed right now. Please make sure you look presentable."

A montonous voice called across the speakers, repeating what was needed twice as though no one could hear them the first time around. Whoever was talking through the mic had a voice that was loud, dull, but in a tone that sounded like they were growling through the microphone. When they finished with their announcement, another crackle passed through the wired sound system before dying off.

Cheerfully, Jae Eun and Junsu made their way towards the Flower/Charm booths. The Charm booth seemed vacant, but the beautiful flowers were too much. Junsu took up the reins and steered Jae towards the bright blossoms, tended by always-elegant Sevilin.

Despite Jae's protests, Jun marched right up to Sevvie with a question: "Hey there! Which flowers do you think would look best on her?"

He had a wicked grin on his face, partially from the delight that comes from teasing someone special to you. But he also truly meant it. Why ruin something that could be really special? It was their first date in a couple months since his band had started touring, so he might as well!

"Hey! What's goin' on over there?" Jae piped suddenly, noticing the tensions at the refreshments booth.

"Ignore it. Now turn this way so we can figure out which flower looks best on you!!!" Jun growled, pointing towards Sevvie as though to imply they were working together from the start.

"Lillian Maevin.." Namini tasted the name before modeling another exceptionally happy expression. For a split second she thought she sensed an uncomfortable vibe from Lillian but ignored it, seeing that the other was content. Her eyes traveled for a moment and hunger consumed her as she noticed a small crowd around the ice cream booth. It was open now?!

"Miss Maevin, do you mind if I excuse myself for the moment?," she asked blushing, though didn't wait for a reply as she wandered off, seeing Lillian's attention drifting anyways.

Amaris let go of Sam quickly, completely dumbfounded by his rant, and watched as he retreated. She never was particularly strong in the first place - her genetics and the way she had grown up were to blame for that. At the same time she couldn't help but wonder if maybe it would have been better if she had left the guy to wreak havoc, considering that the Raevan involved had retreated from the scene and the other man was... well, he was down and out.

It took that moment to realize she was shaking.

"Uh," she said, turning her gaze downwards to Bard. "Are you alright?" And jeez, the guy had sure made a mess of the booth during his tantrum. Reluctantly she begun to pick things up and set them back on the counter, reflecting on what had just happened.

Rivener lifted an eyebrow at Sam's tirade. Wow, he was really self-righteous. Rivener's eyes were glittering with annoyance and mild anger, and he itched to knock this whiny boy down a few pegs by telling him exactly how much of an over-reacting, self-pitying jerk he was being, but he decided against it. He simply rolled his eyes and waited for the kid to leave, only then speaking up.

"I still think if you don't want people to call you by your real name, you don't MENTION it in the first place."

With an annoyed sigh, Riv picked up a wet rag from a washbucket he and LAz had to share, and he wrung it before bringing it to the countertop. Wiping away the liquids, he turned a baleful glance at Bard. "I'll get you a new mocha." He then, VERY reluctantly, turned his gaze to the woman who had intervened in the fight. "Sorry about that, 'mam," he said in a surprising moment of civility. He just didn't feel like more arguments at the moment. "Can I get ya something?"

He was annoyed and tired. This whole working thing didn't agree with him. At least interesting, pleasant folk like Bard might pop in once in a while and make things tolerable, but then there were all the skirt-parasol girls and Sams and bossy mcbossies too. He supposed he better get used to it. It was only for a day.

The intercom sounded, and Rivener paused for a moment to listen. This brought a smile to his lips. At least he wouldn't be the most miserable person here, he thought as he considered Gage's antisocial guardian being forced to go on a date.

Just when Julian finally had a mind to conjure up an amendment to what he had previously stated, a dour voice broke the uncomfortable silence and commanded his presence. Apparently, the date auctions were about to begin with the scientist as the first contestant. Removing his hand from his face, he crouched down to collect his other glove and quickly pulled it onto the proper hand. By the time he was standing upright again, he had some words to say if not the proper ones. "If you wish to talk again, Dr. Kyou knows my information. It seems I'm not at liberality to speak to you any further at the moment."

He regretted meeting Natsuki's eyes before he unceremoniously left her, but duty before passion. Both he and Gage knew that expression intimately.

Hurried strides brought him to the booth quicker than he had even approximated. In a flurry of movement he wiped any lipstick that had adhered to his own lip with the back of a dark sleeve, straightened his tie, and began to work his hair into some semblance of order. In the end, he was present, but still a bit disheveled. It would remain to be seen if his rumpled appearance would be received well, or if the crowd preferred their butlers to be overly pristine.

Ears perking up at the announcement of a 'date auction,' Alice's curiosity was again aroused. So far, she had gathered that this was a festival that doubled as a fund raiser, and that it was for a lab. She was not sure on exactly what had happened to the labs, but she knew that something had likely brought it to its knees. This lab had made the wisps that were floating around her, and the little vicious chimeras as well.

"Goodbye, Josh, everyone," Alice said, waving a tentacle in passing, ducking towards the date auction booth. There was a small crowd to follow, so it was hard to miss. Perhaps a staff person would be up, and she could question them about the fascinating nature of the raevans, though Alice had no idea that was their name.

Tyson didn't notice Aphimet's nor Alex's concerned glances, since he was too busy watching Munchies. Although the child wouldn't even know what they meant anyways if he did catch a glimpse. As soon as their attention was returned to him, the tyke gave a nod. "Thanks Alex, I'll come visit if you get bored." Afterwards he turned on his heel and followed after Aphi as though he was a lost puppy.

Tyson may have been bummed out, but that certainly didn't stop him from catching up with Aphi. The child almost in step with the older man, not asking anymore questions for the time being.

As she pounced on a seat near the stage of which also happened to be out of the sun’s reach, her ears perked at the most unexpected announcement. A date auction huh? So that’s what the stage was for then. Those pale pink lips curled into a satisfied grin as she realized the potential for much fun if she could win at this auction. Well…it all depended whether she thought any of the guys up for bid were worth the gold. As Ebony was often reluctant of letting go of her precious hard earned money. Even if she had more than she knew what to do with at times.

Crossing one slender, yet not at all too thinly leg over the other, Ebony gave her long purple hair a big, flourished flick before settling in to see this auction get underway.

Aphismet sat in his booth, bringing over a stool from a neighboring booth for Tyson to sit on. Once the boy and he were sitting, Aph proceeded with the introductions.

"Munchies, this is my friend Tyson. Tyson, this is my little gwee Munchies. You can hold her, but be careful of her mouth, ok? she likes to chew on things." Carefully, he placed the tiny gwee in Ty's lap, and turned to his cooler. It still held more water bottles, and seeing them made a sharp flare of anger lick at Aph's memory, but it quickly passed, leaving a worried thought; why was he so ready to hate Julian?

Just as he was thinking about the man, his name sounded over the PA system. How coincidental. Frowning, doing his best to dismiss the matter, Aph searched through the cooler with renewed vigor, finally coming across what he'd been looking for; a pair of sandwiches.

"Here, one for you and one for Lil. It's just ham and cheese, I hope you don't mind that," he said, offering the two plastic baggies to the boy.

Following the directions printed on her flyer, Ki showed up at the festival well after it had begun, admitting to herself that, since the flyer had been included in the package that had arrived on her doorstep a few days before, she'd figured it might be a good chance to learn a little more about her strange...vial. It was tucked away in one of the pouches hanging from her belt, as had quickly become her habit.

It had seemed strange, to her, that this 'lab', or whatever it was supposed to be, required a fundraiser. Her sharp gaze took in the many booths, that catered to any need one might expect to have met at a function such as this one--from refreshments to knicknacks. However, no clue as of yet as to what exactly her vial was supposed to be for, or even what on earth it was. Hmm.

Shaking her head, and patting her pouch as if in reassurance, she slipped into the growing crowd that was gathering, apparently for some sort of 'date auction'. This should be interesting. And, perhaps, if it got distracting enough...she'd end up with a couple of wallets, and some extra funds. She could look into finding out more about her new acquisition later, after all.

It would appear that luck was the last thing the Argyros family should be expecting that day. With Sam's little fit upsetting the drink counter, Fangs found himself soaked in iced tea and mocha, things he did not want to be soaked in. In fact, Fangs was more feline than dragon in that regard and with an irritated hiss, the cat would flare it's small dragon wings and take off, likely to find some place where it could attempt to lick itself clean. Bard watched his friend fly off with a sigh; he knew there really wasn't anything he could offer to the poor feline.

Sam's little rant had been...pathetic to say the least and Bard was glad when the kid stalked off so he didn't have to lose his temper. Who threw such a tiff about names anyway? Who the hell punched people over a name for that matter? It was completely out of left field according to the purple-haired man, but then again it seemed to just be turning into one of those days.

Amaris' question seemed to break something inside of Bard that had been wearing thin and with an irritated scowl he shook his head before replying. "I'm fine and would have been fine without your help, but thanks for it all the same," he managed with a tone that spoke volumes about what a small amount of thanks he currently had to give. Pushing himself away from the drink stall and testing his stance for a moment, Bard turned back to the raevan at the sound of his voice. It was strangely comforting to hear it.

"Thank you, but I don't think a mocha is really what I'm needing right now," he replied, making a mental note to grab some vodka out of his 'sky locker' as soon as the moment allowed it. The moment though was presenting a far more interesting turn of events that begged alcohol to wait. Reaching out and brushing his fingers against Rivener's, Bard motioned towards the cloth. "Could I help you with that? It's my fault everything got all messy and I'm sure you've got other people that would like drinks. No reason for your...hands to get messy." Bard had clearly wanted to add some adjective in before he'd said 'hands' but the right one just hadn't come to him; at least not one that didn't sound cheesy as hell.

"You shouldn't have been fighting anyway," Amaris snapped back as she attempted to move the decorations from the counter back into what she thought were their places. "I don't know what happened, but it went wrong, so don't even think of doing it again." It had been a long time since Amaris had first found her backbone. Like hell she was going to let it go now.

She looked to Riv. Mitsu had wanted something, but she wasn't in the mood to deal with the Raevan. "No thank you," she mumbled, retrieving the rest of the things from the grass. Once all the things were back to the stand she'd go and see the results of this date auction. Julian? Wasn't he Gage's guardian? The one who kept his apartment freakishly clean? Oh, that'd be rich to watch.

Now that the fight was over, Mitsu skittishly danced around the spot where Amaris had left her. If there was anything she hated more than crowds, it was being left alone in a crowd. Rat poofed from his bird form to his now-usual puppy form and ran in circles around the girl's feet, yipping merrily in an attempt to distract her.

Amaris finished moving everything from the grass to the stand. Saluting the two, she turned and swept Mitsu up in her arms and followed the crowd to the auction stand, Rat following at her feet.

Shuura blanched at the loudness of the announcement, considering that one of the speakers had come from RIGHT NEXT TO HER EAR. Muttering curses beneath her breath, she covered the offended ear with a hand, about to get up with the intention of moving away from the speaker, but the content of the announcement made her pause momentarily.

There was no doubt that Jules would be heading over to this very booth at this moment, and she considered whether she felt like facing his obnoxious demeanor or avoiding it. However, she belatedly remembered that 1. Gage still hadn't returned with her drink and 2. She had just as much right to be pissed at him since she suspected it was also HIS doing that she was stuck in this auction thing as well.

that settled, the raven-haired girl settled back comfortably into her chair and awaited Julian's imminent arrival with an icy smile.

Tyson managed to get himself up and onto the stool without falling off. Once he was seated comfortably and in a position where he would not cause an accident, the child listened intently to the older man.

"Hi Munchies. Ya know, that's a weird name....Aphi, you named her weirdly. Don't name your daughter Munchies, okay?" Ty told his friend as he gently petted the small gwee's green scales. Once again, Tyson didn't notice any discomfort in his older friend. Whether too busy with his own thoughts, or not exactly knowing what he should be thinking. Currently, his mind was settled on petting the gwee and that's where it would have stayed if he went undisturbed.

"Oh, that's fine. I don't think they had anything good at the food booth. I'm happy with this. Lil likes ham and cheese, I just like the cheese but she won't mind some extra ham." Polite and suddenly quiet again, Tyson reached for the baggies with one hand while his other remained against Munchies scales. So much for being undisturbed, now he was thinking about the refreshment booth. A few nervous glances were directed to Aphismet as Tyson chewed over what he was supposed to say. Wouldn't it be tattling if he spilled the beans on Rivener? Surely he shouldn't be fearing for his life...but if that was the truth, then why did he continue to feel so upset?
