ashlander_alpha CemeteryPirate What would the Black Dahlia Murder be classified as?? also, Arch Enemy... Please??? this has been killing me! crying tBDM = melodic death/deathcore. I would give them the benefit of the doubt and say they fall more on the melodeath side, but our guild leader doesn't seem to agree with me.
Arch Enemy = melodic death. No, she doesn't. At all.

Arch Enemy = melodic death. No, she doesn't. At all. They're AtG with breakdowns and better riffs. Don't see anything there so sacrilegious that it's worth throwing their lot in with the godawful likes of Bring Me the Horizon and Suicide Silence. razz

They may be the best in the business, or they may be the worst. It doesn't make them anyless deathcore. I will not allowed deathcore in my death metal forum.

Oh! And I almost forgot.....ummm I read in your welcome forum that you (referring to gravechlyde) labeled Lamb of God as metalcore.....that is really bothering me and confusing me a lot because I have always thought they were better than that and should be branded something more like deathmetal....I am sorry it's just I am a huge fan of Lamb of God and I kind of take it as a little insulting seeing you label them as metalcore.....-_- I don't mean any disrespect but when I think of metalcore I think of bands like "bullet for my valentine" or "Three days grace".......you get what i'm saying here?

I will be the killjoy an answer your question. I'm the guild leader after all.
Lamb of God is not metal. No if's and's or but's. And yes, they are considered Metalcore.
Their music is not death metal, it's metalcore. They have generic riffs and breakdowns. It honstely has nothing to do with death metal, at all. Metalcore is mixing hardcore punk with some metal elements with emphasis on break downs. It doesnt have to do with whether someone likes a band or not, it has to do with the musical composition. Lamb of God is musically metalcore.
Three Days Grace is nothing but a rock band. Bullet For My Valentine is, in fact, a metalcore band just like Lamb of God. Metalcore does not get a forum in this guild because I don't consider it metal. It's just not metal, and this is a metal guild. I don't even know if we have a Lamb of God thread, but if we do you will find it in the non metal forum.
Celtic Frost used to be thrash/black metal. We already have a thread for them.
Deadstar is not metal, They are Nu-Metal. Korn and Slipknot like stuff.

Also "the deal" with Sevendust is that they're pretty much just hard rock too.

I don't even know what metal is anymore........You know what? I don't care anymore....whether Lamb of God is metal or not its fine because they are and will always be my favorite freaken band.......I am a little shocked that you would compare Lamb of God with something repulsive as three days grace.............thats a huge slap to my face right there -_-
LAMB OF GOD FOREVER!!!

Metalcore can be Metal, but not all Metalcore is Metal. Either it lays on more on the Metal side it its more on the Hardcore Punk side. Lamb of God is more on the Metal side, but here we don't count Metalcore at all as being Metal. I don't know Hollows reasoning but I know it certainly makes things a lot less easier, theres a lot less misplaced threads that way. And I'm pretty sure we have a Lamb Of God thread in the Other Metal Genres forum or the Other Music forum so what LoG is considered doesn't really matter, because they already have a topic placed somewhere.
As said already, Three Days Grace isn't Metalcore, they are just plain old Rock. The only, ONLY, person to compare LoG to TDG is you, so I'm not sure where you are getting that from. Perhaps you may have read Hollow's post wrong or something.
You can like any genre you want, the fact that LoG is Metalcore doesn't change the fact of them being good or being bad. Hating a whole genre like Metalcore is pretty silly and narrow minded. You should really think about being a little less thick-headed when it comes to music, there is good bands in almost every genre. The only two genres I can think of that hold no good bands is Reggaeton and Crunkcore, but perhaps it may just be because it was created for simple minded fools.
Edit: Yes, Triviums work is Metalcore. Though their newest album, Shogun, is Thrash but it has a lot of Metalcore elements in it. So at the moment Trivium is a Metalcore, if they release a few more Thrash or other Metal albums then they can be called a Metal band but they are Metalcore at the moment.

*sigh* whatever I don't care what they are viewed as by everyone else if there metalcore it does not matter to me because LoG will always kick a** and in my opinion is better than most "real" metal bands
