[Yes! :3 oh and incidentally Andou is like 25 I think xD]

"Thanks," Andou told the nurse. His voice was emotionless, but he acknowledged her effort with a nod and an attempted smile. He moved like he always did, slick, quiet and fast, into the girl's room - there was no name tag on the door because they hadn't gotten her name, so Andou would have to get that. He realised that as one of the leaders of Kirigakure it was his responsibility to find out just how this girl had got here.

All this thinking was put to a side, though, when he entered the room and saw said underweight, malnourished... etc. woman sitting up and ripping all these medical things out of her body. Since the hospital was new, most of the old advanced equipment had been destroyed in the invasion. Therefore nobody knew of this disturbance.

"What are you doing?" he asked, closing the door behind him. This rated the woman higher on his alarm list and he was determined to get to the bottom of her.

[oh hoo hoo. thats too funny XD]

Cerbi's head snapped towards the new person in the room. the sudden motion did not agree with her current state though, and she ended up falling back on the bed in a dizzy spell.

After a brief moment to gather herself together, Cerbi decided to just lie there in defeat. "I was going to leave, but that doesnt seem like it's going to happen any more, is it?" it wasnt really a question for him to answer, but she looked at him anyways.

"I'm sorry for intruding, I didn't realize I walked into a city. I should really be on my way..." she sat up again just to be greeted by another protest from her head.

[bleh its short again... in my defense it's quite late here]

Andou made his way to the visitor's chair next to the bed and sat his a** down on it. He scrutinised her with his deep brown eyes and trust me, that was not a good feeling. Finally, he said,

"You're in Kirigakure no Sato," he said. "What were you doing here, and how did you get here in the first place?" He looked at her emaciated state and decided to ask further. "And how did you get yourself in such a state?" Andou asked. He wasn't concerned, but merely curious. Also, now that he thought about it... if he got her to stay, he might gain her trust and maybe more information. God knows Kirigakure was so isolated right now that any outside source was God's blessing.

"You're welcome to stay and recuperate," he finally said.

[lol don't worry about it XD as long as it isn't uber short]

Cerbi sighed, didn't she used to have connections here in Kiri? Those days seemed like lifetimes ago. The times when she actually had a position, a purpose. In a way she misses it.

"Kiri you said?" she softly whistled. "As for what I'm doing here, nothing. I simply wandered here by accident. For how I got here? It's a blur, but I think I walked. Maybe some guy gave me boat ride? Maybe I was kidnapped. I have no idea," she flopped back down onto the bed and groaned softly.

"Oh this? It's my new diet, isnt it wonderful?" she softly rolled her eyes; secretly glad she still had the energy for sarcasm. She peaked an eye open to look at the guy again. "Can I ask a question now?" she didn't wait for an answer. "Who are you to be giving me the third degree?"

Andou raised an eyebrow. This person had some spunk it seemed, underneath her pathetic exterior.

"I'm hardly giving you the 'third degree', as you put it,"
he said wryly. "It's not like I'm torturing you or anything. In fact, I helped you," Andou pointed out. "Can't people be altruistic any more?"

"But my name is Andou," Andou said. "I'm part of the council in Kirigakure. Much has happened over these past few weeks.

"You wandered here, you say?"
he echoed her. "Does that mean that there has to be someone in the pier or something that knows you?" He shook his head. "You really are quite something," he said. "Not knowing how you got here, and with your body in such a state. The nurse says you should be dead, you know."

[lol now i'm the one being short XD sorry it's sickness + sleepiness + phone call]

[noo worries. I'll try be more literate tomorrow |D ]

Cerbi gave off a small grin. "I should have died a long time ago. And many times in between then, it's nothing new to me," she continued to smile softly, but it seemed almost wistful. It was true though, the experiences she had been through even at this young age made her believe she was much older.

"I couldn't even tell you my age any more. When I left, where we are now... it's all a blur," she stared at the blank ceiling of the hospital; realized she longed for the patterns the sky laid out for her.

"The only thing I can give you is my name, it's..." she froze. Should she tell him of her real name? Andou had only given her a first name, so she decided she would do the same. "Cerbi. Sorry we had to meet under these circumstances."

"Cerbi," Andou said, testing the name out on his tongue. That really was a foreign name and Andou was really curious now about who this person actually was. "Nice to meet you, Cerbi-san." A foreign name, it really was... and yet it sounded familiar. But Andou couldn't place where he'd heard it before. Warning bells getting louder by the minute, he decided to check up on this later.

"It's fine," he said, possibly failing to catch her meaning. "You're alive, I mean. That's better than being dead." His eyebrow was still raised at her, and now Andou let it fall. It was obvious that this frail young woman was hiding a huge secret, and Andou racked his mind and thought back to his psychology classes in an effort to figure out what to do next.

"Why did you leave?" he finally said, before remembering that the woman didn't want to give him any information. Good job there. Lamely, he offered, "I apologise for asking so many questions. But I have a responsibility to know." Andou did not elaborate, although maybe he didn't need to.

"I'm afraid I can't let you leave until I know the basics about you, but if you don't feel ready, we can put it off for now."

And then a brainwave hit Andou, and, ashamed he didn't think of asking it earlier, Andou said, "Are you a shinobi?"

PostPosted: Sun Mar 15, 2009 7:23 am

Cerbi shuffled around in the bed, trying to figure out how best to answer Andou without giving too much away. She was really not ready for her identity to be found out, she was supposed to be dead anyways.

"Am I a shinobi? Even I don't know any more," she had a wistful smile on her face as she looked anywhere but the male beside her. It was partially the truth, while she had been a powerful ninja back in the day, it had been years since she had used any of those talents. In fact, ever since her demon had been stolen away from her it felt like all her chakra had gone with it, she had felt quite hollow.

"As for why I left... it's been too long to remember," that was a lie, of all her faded memories, that one was the most prominent in her mind, she simply had no will to tell him.

"If you wont let me leave until you know more about me, we could be in trouble," she drawled. "I don't know how I can tell you about me when I don't understand myself."

At her last comment, Andou let out a chuckle. It would have surprised any eavesdroppers to this conversation, but maybe Cerbi would understand just why he was laughing. This time he did elaborate.

"That's happened to me before too,"
he told her. "But eventually I got over it. And you will too." Minus the fact that it had taken him around 6 years or so... but yeah. That was unrelated. Besides, Andou decided that having this person around wouldn't be that bad. "So my statement still stands."

He looked her in the eye and didn't like what he saw. Make no mistake, he had no problems with this woman. She didn't seem to be that much of a threat, and Andou detected no threatening chakra signatures or anything. It was more of the glimpse of Cerbi's thoughts and personality that Andou didn't like. He knew that she harboured horrible memories and he knew that she was lying. Should he press her now or later, though?

"I know you're lying," Andou said in his customary blunt way, making a decision. "Are you hungry?"

Cerbi smirked slightly and brought herself to look at him. "Good, if you couldn't tell, then I wouldn't respect you as a shinobi or as a person," her eyes crinkled slightly at the edges. She took note of what he had said but otherwise disregarded it.

"Even if I was hungry, I don't want to be indebted to you or this village. That just means staying here longer," it wasn't so much she disliked the guy or this city, she simply was not used to staying in one spot for so long. "Which also means I have to spend more time with you, oh joy," sarcasm dripped all over her statement, but her smile kind of gave it away she was joking.

At that moment a loud growl ripped through the otherwise quiet hospital atmosphere.

Now totally embarrassed, Cerbi went a slight pink colour and scratched the top of her head. "Maybe I'm a little hungry?"

"Well, they say that I'm not bad company," Andou responded with a smirk. All the jokes he had cracked over the past few years could be counted with the fingers of his two hands, but since he was the master of the Snark (as opposed to silly or sincere humour), he pulled this joke off quite well. "Looks like your body's showing a mind of its own," he commented as he moved towards the phone in the room. "I'll get them to bring some food over. Or... I know," Andou suggested. "You might have to wait a couple of hours, but I have my students out in the sea. They might be able to bring some fish back. Or other.. slightly more interesting sea creatures. Your call."

The man well known in this hospital was Tategami Hiro. He had been in this hospital so many times he had his own room but most of the staff had never seen Karite just heard of him. He healed his own wounds. As Hiro walked in with Banji at his side he saw no need to leave his friend outside. The doctor at the desk saw differently.

"Hiro-sama, you can not bring that dirty beast in this hospital. I will not allow you to spread his disease around." The doctor put a firm hand on his shoulder to stop him not remembering Hiro unlike most shinobi showed no remorse for anyone else.

Hiro grinned his teeth not showing any other movement of his face before taking the hand and twisting it behind the mans back. "Tell me where Andou is or I will snap your arm off and beat you with it."

The doctor winced and began to shakily point to a room down the hall. "He is there with a patient. Please just please let me go." The man looked worried as he fell to the floor. Hiro had changed significantly since the war had ended and the masters had left.

Hiro continued to walk Karite and Touji closely behind. As he entered the room he shifted himself to a chair and sat crossing his legs and locking his gloved fingers Banji laid next to him. Soon afterwards Karite came in with Touji. Raising a hand above her head she sat and waited patiently like the trained partner she was.

"Hello Andou I presume. I am Wolvine Karite and my quiet nephew is Tategami Hiro. We are both shinobi of the mist. We have returned and would like to continue our duty to this village."

Cerbi was about to speak up when some other people walked into the room. She instantly swallowed any words she was going to say and looked away from Andou. With these people asking his permission to stay in the village, it suddenly hit her how important Andou really could be.

Usually she would up and leave to give them some privacy, but she figured since this was technically her hospital room and those people had barged in, she had a right to stay. Not to mention the total lack of energy she had.

It was a complete revert back to what she used to be, before Andou had broke down some of her defenses. Once again she became silent and partially cold.

If Andou had been... well, not Andou, but some other jokey person that was decidedly NOT Andou-like, he would have gone "Gee thanks, guys. She was just starting to like me." Well, he would have said it, but in a manner that wouldn't make them feel guilty. Andou WAS thinking this however, in a less than sunny manner. Sure, he was happy to see these two again... but could their timing be any worse?

"Karite-san, Tategami... it's good to see you," he said. That much was true. "I remember you. We have much to talk about," Andou greeted them, his gaze focused especially on Hiro. He was keen to know if he had improved his skills any, especially since he'd had to politely decline Iwa's invitation to the chuunin exams only a few days prior.

"I was in the middle of something..." he said carefully. Upon second thought he didn't want to make them feel bad since he was quite flattered that the first person that they went to look for was him. Andou was no stranger to Karite's strength and hoped that no problems would arise out of this in the future... but this was a reassuring sign. Maybe. "Is there anything urgent you have to say to me?" He glanced at Cerbi. "Do you mind if I leave you for now, if that's the case, Cerbi-san? Maybe you need to rest after all... or should I just go on like this?" This was her room after all.

Cerbi looked at Andou before quickly changing her gaze to the other two; an uncaring coldness in her eyes. "Doesn't matter. If you don't want me to head then leave," she said with a completely even tone.

Cerbi lay down on the mattress and then turned on her side, so her back was facing the three people in the room. In this position her kip bones stuck awkwardly into the bed, and probably looked just as awkward from behind.

It didn't really matter to Cerbi though, as she closed her eyes and easily drifted into sleep. It wasn't a hard task; it was pretty much a chore to stay awake anyways.
