Dyanel the marriage counselor... lol she's never been married.
Dyanel looked at Shinta carefully and wondered about what she could see next. She pet Cheebs behind the ears without realizing and her answer came to her.
"I think you need to give her a good reason why she doesn't need to feel responsible for you anymore. She can't wander as a soul forever, time is going to get to her. Believe me, I know," she said with a soft smile.

((Well they were only informally engaged when she died...so...yeah. wink ))
The swordsman looked into Dyanel's eyes. "Love is the most precious thing that exists in this world. That it should transcend death is a miracle beyond this mortal one's understanding. This one always assumed that when this one died, we would be reunited..."
His voice took on a note of concern. "Tell me, does it pose a danger to her spirit to remain here?"
Idiot, worrying about everyone else but yourself again! The spirit chided. And she wonders why I want to stay with you..."

Dyanel looked at Shinta.
"I cannot tell what her fate as a soul is. I'm not apart of that anymore. I just know that sometimes, we need to let go of those we love, just to help them grow," Dyanel said looking at Natsuko's spirit.

"Whatever my fate Shinta, I will stay with you as long as you might need me." Shinta felt deep sadness from her as she paused. "I will also go if that is what you need."
The swordsman shook his head. "I love you. I want what you want."
Natsuko smiled. "I want to stay with you."
Shinta nodded slowly, then looked back at Dyanel. "In many ways, she is responsible for me. Were it not for her, this one would still be the Demon Sword, bringing divine retribution to the enemies of my former government."

Shinta thought for a moment, then looked at Dyanel. "Miss Dy, there is something this one needs to apologize for. When many of us were speaking earlier, you confessed to having ended thousands of lives, and this one thought rather poorly of you because of it."
The former assassin looked down at his hands as he continued. "This mortal one could not understand why you could say what you did and not feel regret." He looked up again. "This one apologizes for having misjudged you. You were the Spirit Keeper, giving mortal souls the rest that is our due, not a murderer." He allowed his eyes to drift down to his hands again.
Shinta suddenly felt the chill of Natsuko's ghostly hand pass through his shoulder, no doubt trying to poke him out of "brooding" as she called it. He sat up straight, shivered, then let out a laugh. "Natsuko is telling me again to cheer up and stop being so dour all the time."
"Darn right I am!" The spirit's voice echoed sharply in his head.
Shinta laughed again.
((Can Dy hear Natsuko? Usually Shinta is the only one, but since Dy is Dy, I thought, well... whee ))

It would make sense, but if you don't want her to be able to I'm fine with that.
Dyanel gave another small smile. Smiling brightly hadn't been her thing for a while. She looked at Shinta and then at Cheebs.
"I didn't blame you for thinking I was a murderer. I thought I was a murderer. It was a reason I left that area of my life," Dyanel stated looking at Natsuko.

"But you weren't." Shinta stated firmly.
Beside him, Natsuko nodded in agreement at Dyanel.

Dyanel let out a sigh looking at the both of them.
"You may think that, but sometimes, I was. It's hard to explain when you aren't there. Ethren was there most of the time. He knows how I was and how... well demon like I was," Dyanel stated looking as though those were the hardest words to speak.

"Ah..." Shinta looked down solemnly, not knowing quite what to say.
After a while he looked back up and reached out one hand to scratch Cheebs' belly. "You are different now though, at least, from what this lowly one can sense of your spirit."

"And here is the kitchen, Kirokina, with nearly everything you could ever want or need to eat or drink. Pretty big huh?"
Big was an understatment, the kitchen was enourmous. A Chef's Dream and Cole once put it. And it had to be, this place was large enough to fit every resident in the pagoda and then some.

"Hey there!" she remarked brightly compared to how she was feeling.

Aideki came swinging into the kitchen from an open window. She had obviously been on the roof and scaled the Pagoda down, as she always did, 'til she found a window leading into her destination. The small sustaination from the food she had earlier had hardly done anything and she was hankering once again for something fullfilling. She then noticed all the people within the room, stopping suddenly upon seeing them. She didn't think anyone was going to be in the kitchen for some odd reason and when she thought about it she realized what a stupid thought it was... No one in the kitchen? The kitchen hadn't been empty since... Well, she couldn't remember the last time it was empty, but that didn't surprise her. After all, it was the kitchen. Gathering herself a bit, she huffed a strained, "Aye," through tired breaths. She was obviously worn a bit from climbing the Pagoda down on such an empty stomache. She immidiately went in search of something to eat and found the slice of cake that Hikari had offered her before. Taking it thankfully she dug into it with a fork and took a big mouthful. She turned then to the four, "Where is Hikari? I'd like to tell her how good her cake is!" She then poured herself a big glass of milk and guzzled almost half of it down. Beer and ale were by far her favorite drink, but there were some times when milk was just a plain necessity.

Dyanel Dyanel gave a soft smile at Shinta. She looked at Alexander and gave a smile to him and Kirokina.
"Hey there!" she remarked brightly compared to how she was feeling. Alex turned and looked at Dyanel, then smiled. His smile didn't last long, however, because after a moment, Alex picked up on the emotions that Dyanel was feeling. It hurt Alex to see Dyanel smiling on the outside when she was hurting on the inside. Alex grabbed a napkin and wrote down a message. He quickly walked over to Dyanel then walked back to Kirokina and started showing her around again. ~*~*~ The note read: Dyanel,
I'd be willing to sit and talk with you about what's bothering you when I'm finished showing Kirokina around. I know my dad may not be here to talk to you right now, but you can talk to me if you like. I'll come find you when I'm finished with what I'm doing.
-Alex
PS: Please don't fake smile, it hurts too much to see you do that...

Shinta nodded politely to those who came in, his own face a mask of forced cheerfulness as well. He could tell Dy's act didn't fool Alex.
He felt Natsuko's misty hand on his shoulder. "Beloved," she said chidingly, "you're brooding again..."
Shinta wait until Alex and Kirokina left, then shrugged at Dyanel with a half smile. "It seems all agree that we two need to 'lighten up' as some here would put it. How might we do that?" The swordsman attempted a grin. "What do you do, may this one ask, for pleasure and amusement?"
