The theme was Sudoku for my band...xD
We had 81 6'x6' mats with numbers under them, and the choir people's sang numbers as the guard flipped the mats over.
Our music was....
"Jeremiah Symphony: Part II: Profanation" by Lynyrd Bernstein ((that in itself was a feat. Hard music x.x))
AND
"Einstein on the Beach" by Phillip Glass.
Tough show...x.x but totally worth it

Our show's theme this year was "Heroes." It was pretty cool, because supposively it was inspired by members on the band's stories of their heroes. (I'm a freshman; I'm out of the loop. xD)
Our pieces included: Exultate (That had crazy woodwind runs. ohmygod.), Noisy Wheels of Joy, Sleep, and Superman Reprise.

it was wierd this year, there was no actual theme it was just a collection of songs. our first was Bend Me Shape Me, second was A Time For Us (from romeo and juliet), third was Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend, and last was When A Man Loves A Woman. it was still fun for my first year but a few of us are trying to see if we can do songs from Greece next year. I CANT WAIT!

The Mighty Panther band and color gaurd Performed "Scheharade" by Rimsky Korsakov....russians and there writing of awesome music.
scheharade is this chick from 1001 nights. which are tales where they got lots of arabian stories from, like Aladin and Sinbad the pirate. Anyway. The king would marry a new virgin, and every day he would send yesterday's wife to be beheaded. This was done in anger, having found out that his first wife was betraying him. He had killed three thousand such women by the time he was introduced to Scheherazade, the vizier's (who would be incharge of the executions) daughter.
Shahrazade had perused the books, annals and legends of preceding Kings, and the stories, examples and instances of by gone men and things; indeed it was said that she had collected a thousand books of histories relating to antique races and departed rulers. She had perused the works of the poets and knew them by heart; she had studied philosophy and the sciences, arts and accomplishments; and she was pleasant and polite, wise and witty, well read and well bred."
Against her father's protestations, Scheherazade volunteered to spend one night with the King. Once in the King's chambers, Scheherazade asked if she might bid one last farewell to her beloved sister, Dunyazad, who had secretly been prepared to ask Scheherazade to tell a story during the long night. The King lay awake and listened with awe to Scheherazade's first story and asked for another, but Scheherazade said there was not time as dawn was breaking, and regretfully so, as the next story was even more exciting.
And so the King kept Scheherazade alive as he eagerly anticipated each new story, until, one thousand and one adventurous nights, and three sons later, the King had not only been entertained but wisely educated in morality and kindness by Scheherazade who became his Queen.
Our show was about three of the stories she told.
Movement one-"Prince Kalander" Movement two-"The prince and the princess" Movement three-"the festival at bahgdad" (oh god, is that how you spell it?)
anyway. it was really fun. I've i ever can, i'll try posting our marching video. the color gaurd did a lot of complex and awesome dancing.
((i know this is pathetic, but please read. took me a long time to write.))
