::The Doctor didnt budge, he just sat with a content look on his face, and waited patiently.::

Silver Moonblade
As his hands came apart, a tiny ball of orange energy would fly towards his target at incredible speed. As small as the ball looked, it would explode with titanic force... if it didn't smolder right through him.

::The fireball had only 10ft of space to cross in a clean area. The fireball reached 1ft away from silvers hand and it began to erode. Have you ever seen a Sparkler? That was Silvers fireballs as if it was hemoraging mana and by the time it reached the Doctor it was little more than a shower of a miniscule amount of tiny embers, and of course the majik reaction cause the Doctor to take a deep breath in and let out a loud...::

ACHOO! Woof, that was a big one ny apologies. But thank you.

::About this time is when Silver might realize something was very wrong. Not just because of what happened to his spell but because of the sharp pain which coursed through this viens right now as if his very blood was made of pins and needles.

His legs would grow weak and threaten to bring him to his knees. At this moment, Pain was a synonym for Silver Moonblade's life. And it wasnt fading.

The Doctor moved in, from his pocket he drew a set of two black pills, grabbed Silvers hand, and gently placed them in it with, along with the stern council...::

Yes, a spell that large is sure to hurt. Take these and the pain will pass.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 20, 2005 10:56 pm

Silver damn near fell over. Normally he would get a rush of exilleration from each spell, moreso than normal mages. He didn't expect them to cuase such physical truama to his body. He gritted his teeth and looked at his arms as if he expected them to burst into flames.

Not only was the extreme pain getting to him, the fact that his fireball, when no other spell of his has ever disapated in such a matter, meerly disintegrated. He hastily swallowed the pills as a man dying of first would a bottle of water. He gasped a bit and kneeled over, before reeling his head to stare into the doctor's eyes.

"Whats... happened... to me?"

Silver Moonblade
"Whats... happened... to me?"

Vell...hmm...to put it in lay termz, I let you soak. You zee in your current predicament you vere qvite dead. Zhere was no vay to for you to stay in zhe tower for long or to get pazt itz borders before you choked.

::He gestured toward Silvers chest as he continued.::

Zhe infection haz vrapped itself around your very life force. Vhat I did vas give you a light sedative, followed by an injection of AM 24 a liquid magical zupressant. Your body zat, and soaked as zhe Anti-magic of my home infected, your infection zo to zpeak, and took it apart. I'm sure you must have felt zhe pricks in your legs from both zhe injections.

::Again in Doctorly fashion he scooted up a stool, sat down and continued.::

Unfortunately zhe infection in your blood haz been vith you for a very long time. A few hours soaking vill not kill it entirely, instead as I feared zhe combination of both magical and anti-magical elements in your bloodsteam haz cauzed qvite a conflict. Your condition might be likened to a...magical diabetes of sorts.

You zee you are, for zhe time being until about midday tomorrow, able to intake majik juzt az you were before, thusly your body feels powerful, but your body is not truly able to process it like it once could. Majik is not a "part" of you. Like insulin is not longer a chemical produces by a diabetes victim. You may intake all the zhe magic you like, but it vill be akin to the mass intake of sugar vithout insulin...it vill kill you. Your body cannot process it as it vonce could, zhe magic enters your system raw and unfiltered and begins to cause chaos. Zhough everzhing ztill feels "normal" because in truth your body iz normal, juzt as if vas vhen you vere born.

::He fiddles through the various pockets of his coat and pulls out a black plastic pill bottom with no label and a group of small black pills shaking inside. The pills being the same pills that Silver had just taken.::

Zhis vill help. You see, zhe last vestiges of your magical infection still lie deep in your bone and muscle tissue. During zhe process of a day it vill seek to fill your body vith arcana yet again...but your body cannot process said arcana...and you vill die. Vone of zhese pills at exactly 9am sharp, vill supress your infections growth for the remainder of the day. You have a zmall vindow between 9am-11pm in order to take your medication if you fail, you have until about 1pm to take a second pill to make up zhe slack. If you fail again...you vill die. A third pill vill snuff out all vestiges of "majik" in your body, zhis includes the spark of life vhich your parents created at conception...Of course zhese times are estimations, but I vouldnt test your limits too far.

Zhe medication vill allow you to gather majiks vithout risking infection but only vith low level spells. A basic fireball, or the like. Another blast like your last and you'll be risking death, if your body can even muster zhe majik to summon zhe attack.

::With a flick of his fingers he slides the pill bottle across the table toward Silver and continues.::

The pozitive side is zhat, as time goez on your body vill adjust. By my calculations in about a year zhe side effect of missing your medication vill no longer be fatal but instead crippling. Over time vonce the medicine unites with your systen, vill no long need to take zhis pill. In time...and zad to zay, likely more time zhan you vill be alive, your body vill adjust enough to allow you to access more and perhaps zhe most powerful spellz. Sadly...vithout majik to sustain you, you vill begin to age, and eventually die. But such iz zhe high price for living! For now, I suggest zhat if you chooze to zummon zuch a powerful zpell, make sure you know you zhat are already as good as dead first...

::The fingers of his right hand strummed across the operating room table as he seemd to be deep in thought. Checking and re-checking over his thoughts to make sure he left nothing out before finally leaning forward and speaking again.::

Any qvestions?
PostPosted: Sat Oct 22, 2005 8:52 pm

Snatching the bottle of the table, he put it within the confides of his seemingly impossibly complex Yukata. Within one of its pockets, it would be safe from all harm and theft.

Silver thought for a moment, as all of the doctors words pilled up in his head. Though he was highly intellegent, he was a tad behind on the technological and medical times. It wasn't surprizing that he didn't know what AM 24 was until a moment ago, but he wasn't fully familiar with diabetes either. However, he had enough intellegence to put two and two together.

After the knowledge of what happened finally soaked in, he pondered on it for a long while. There would be little chance of him ever casting a spell like Kaiser Rain ever agian, and he would have to take special pills just to stay alive. Which he noted the exact times when to take them, and how quickly to take them if he missed a dose. However, there was always the threat of running out.

For now, I suggest zhat if you chooze to zummon zuch a powerful zpell, make sure you know you zhat are already as good as dead first...

Silver take VERY careful head of those words. He wasn't afraid of death by any means, but he didn't want to die just like any other mortal. He wouldn't do anything to ensure his own death except for the most dire measures.

The pozitive side is zhat, as time goez on your body vill adjust. By my calculations in about a year zhe side effect of missing your medication vill no longer be fatal but instead crippling.

Which translated into "you better get used to taking these for a while, boy". It would be years before he would go without them if he could avoid it, now that he was completly intolerent of Arcana. However... it could be far worse.

But... this was a wonderful opertunity! He had always wanted to be human again, and this was a large leap in that direction. his blood probably wouldn't be red for a while, but it was a start. And he could become a dragoon again once he got back to Latent.

Though that posed another question. How was he going to leave Guldor? His ship ran off of ehter currents, and winds changed too much for his regular sail to be of much use to an unexperianced sailor such as he. He would need technology to reach the mainland, even if he didn't fully trust it.

So when it came to replying to the Doc...

"I have three, actually. One, could you help me get back to the Leviathan Stadium, as my ship runs on Arcana. Two, how many dozes are in the bottle, or how long should it last me? And three..."

Silver scratched the back of his head, and spoke sheepily.

"Would you mind if I stayed here for a week or so? I don't feel up to traveling, and I'd like to make sure that the medicine works correctly. It'd be kind of hard to contact you if I was half out to sea."

"I have three, actually. One, could you help me get back to the main the Leviathan Stadium, as my ship runs on Arcana.

::Well...that was unusual he was expecting a bit of a different reaction. Most people are upset at losing something they've spent decades working at...well, thats actually quite a relief.

Then Silver asked about the dose size and he gently smacked his own forehead and spoke in a bit of an embarased tone.::

Gah, how could I forget. You'll need vone of zhese...

::He searched around in his lab coat pockets until he came upon a small device, and an empty pill bottle which he carefully extracted and set on the table. It was a round black device a hemisphere in shape though it had a large cylinderical opening in it with a single tube sticking straight up about an inch. The device sat flat on the table and was jet black. It looked sort of like a freakish cell phone charger. But its function couldnt be more different.::

It verkz like zhis.

::He took the pill bottle and set it in the cylinderical opening in the device, the small protusion poked up through the bottom and into the bottle, and slowly the bottle began to make a whirring noise before....Plink! Single black pill shot up from the small protustion and into the bottle, after a minute or so came another...and another. The Doctor looked up at Silver with a satisfied nod.::

I call zhis, my IDPS. Thats InterDimensional Pharmaceutical Station. You pop your bottle in, and it refills it. Zhat bottle in your hand is no mere chunk of plastic, it records how many pills are in it, and vhat type of pill it needs. And zhis station teleports zhem in until zhe bottle is full. Normally it vill hold about 200 capzulez. But how long it laztz...vell...zhats dependant on how often you leave it charge. And dont worry if its damaged, zhe nano-tech drive I've installed will rebuild it as long as even a shard remainz. Bezidez, you cant really be expected to come all zhe vhay out here juzt to get your prescription refilled. Now as for your other request....

::He slid that along the table to Silver as well. Interdimensional Quantum Physics was a babies science. Afterall his daughter walked around with an ID-Pod which played radio stations and musics from different dimensions.

Its strange, other worlds were nothing to him. But some people from just this own world...he could never fully trust. He rubbed his chin in deep contemplation. And let out a long and low...::

Hmmm....

::Granted it was very rude to question someones work like that, but in all honesty the Doctor had come to expect such rudeness and an amount of trickery from the Majiks. It didnt really phase him in the slightest. And it honestly played zero part in his answer. He raised his right hand and his index, middle, and ring finger in a 3. And spoke.::

I can give yo...ooo....ACHOO...

::Some residual magically energy caught his nose causing the usual reaction. He rubbed the underside of his nose and continued.::

Ooof, I zhought that vas all gone. As I vas saying, I can give you zhree days. Do not take it personally Mr.Moonblade but my family has zuffered a great deal at the hands of Majiks. And vhile ve are more tollerant zhan ve vere in older days, your presence is making my children anxious and unecezzarily uncomfortable. And my noze az you can tell is qvite sensitive and to it, zhanks to zhe infection in your blood...vell...you ztink. Bad.

::He signed and stood up patting his legs off again and making his way back to the door to turn the anti-magic field in the room back up, as he did so he continued his speach.::

Zhe day maybe come vhen ve vill truzt your kind...but zadly...zat day is not today, or zhis veek, or next. I vill give you 3 days to get your zhings in order and for obzervational purposes. But zhen, you muzt leave. And You can rest assured--DING.

::No he didnt say Ding, but a small device beside the door made a loud ding which filled the room. What it looked like was a large oven...because infact it was...a large oven. For heating and drying things....like frozen clothes. Silver was currently clothed only in a hospital gown and a white sheet. Zhe Doctor fetched the clothes and layed them beside Silver whilst he finished his sentence.::

--if zhe medicine did not vork you vould already be dead. And if it fails, zhere is really nozhing zhat I can do for you.

::The Doctor didnt say any of that with a rude tone, or even a violent tone. It was the his normal average tone. The tone he had used to speak to Silver with during this whole conversation. The facts he was stating werent being stated to make Silver unwelcomed, they were just simply facts.::

For now it iz getting late, you should rezt, get drezzed, and sleep. Zhere is a cot zhe back of the zhis O.R. Vhen tomorrow comes ve vill discuss vhat supplies you'll need and see vhat can be helped.

::He paused, rolling over in his mind what he had discussed and fishing for anything he had left out. After coming up with a blank, he nodded and made his way for the door pressing a blue button in the control panel to place a psychic lockdown on the room. He stopped just before the door and turned back to Silver.::

Zleep vell Mr.Moonblade, in zhis room your are shielded from Brians mental attacks. And if you vant to turn zhe lights down simply say "Lights down" or "Lights off" or on or what have you. But I dont suggest you leave zhis shield. Or zhings can get razher ugly.

::And with that he was gone. He stepped through the double doors which sealed closed behind him with a hydraulic hiss and in a few moments the sound of his heavy steps in the hallway were gone.::
PostPosted: Sat Oct 22, 2005 10:04 pm

Thump!

The sound his body made as it fell forward in stride. flat on his face his body shut itself down. Putting his to sleep as it began it's repairs. He coughed gently his body shaking as he lay on the cold ground. His body trying to warm itself as he shook almost violently laying on the ground moving slightly as muscles tensed.

Silver took the IDPS and studied it carefully for a moment. If he heard the doc correctly, it was a InterDimensional Pharmaceutical Station. Basically an dimensional gate without using magic. He was genuinly impressed; he didn't know that technology could preform such feats.

Do not take it personally Mr.Moonblade but my family has zuffered a great deal at the hands of Majiks.

He gave him an understanding nod. He knew what that was like, and he couldn't entirely blame him. More and more people were distrusting magic nowadays, and it wasn't unknown for there to be anti-magic cults and mobs. Mages have been burned at the stake out of superstition, and while such a practice was excedingly rare and generally illegal, it was enough for 'majiks' to be cuatious when they traveled to foriegn lands.

Three days would be enough. To be truthful, he didn't feel welcome at all; meerly tolerated. He would have time to get the Dragon's Raider modified, gain back his stregnth, and figure out a course of action. As it was, his original purpose in Guldor of tracking down Cyradyll and taking her out was thrown off, as she would have most assuradly gotten away by now. But... Silver wasn't concerned with that anymore. At least not at the moment.

But I dont suggest you leave zhis shield. Or zhings can get razher ugly.

Oh, you can bet he wouldn't. Silver knew what power Brian had to an extent, and he had a fairly good idea of what he WOULD do to him. Silver wasn't afraid of brian, but he wasn't entirely stupid either. He was simply much more powerful than Silver, who had no way to defend himself.

Silver took the docs other advice of getting some rest whole heartedly. The moment the doc left, he changed into his mystic attire. Though it might take a less cleaver human hours to figure out, Silver was out of the medical gown and into the Yukata within a matter of seconds.

Laying down on the cot, he ammused himself with the lighting for a while, trying to see if words like Illuminate and Enlighten would work, and vise versa. After he had his fun, he had the lights turn off. As he lay there in the dark, one final vision would greet him before he succomed to unconcienceness.

The deformed creature Brian had manifested sat there, grinning maliciously. It slowly walked off into nothingness, purple blood trickling down its face.

::The most frustrating sleeps of all are the kind that feel like they're over just as soon as they start. This was one of those. Something about the air in the OR made sleep just come so much easier, and so much more completely. Mostly due to the fact that around 4am the vents in the lower level begin to pump out a light sedative to keep Brian from trying anything during the night. As well as keep patients rested up.

But here at 8:50am sharp, the hiss of the door unsealing could be heard. This was followed by the words.::

Lightz on.

::It would probably feel like floodlights just got turned on all around Silver. The initial blast of the OR lights after a good nights recharge was always very intense. But it was accompanied by the pitter patter of footsteps as the Doctor made his way to Silvers bed side with a glass of water and one black pill in hand and said with a smile.::

Rize and shine Mr. Moonblade. I get zhe feeling ve have lotz of verk to do.

One moment he was resting peacfully in the dark, the next he was blinded by a wave of light.

"GAH!"

Instinctivly, he threw his left arm over his face to shield himself from the light; his eyes were hyper sensitive to bright light. Removing them slowly, he would be squinting for a while. Not becuase he was tired, but becuase he was temporarily blinded.

After his eyes ajusted enough to see the doctor with the black pill and water, he grinned. After taking his medication and gulping down the liquid, he rubbed his eyes, stood up, and stretched. His stomache growling, he rubbed his eyes tiredly for a moment as he spoke.

"I have a feeling your right. What's the first order of buisiness?"

Silver hadn't eaten for a while, and he doubted his food survived its way over here. But he wasn't rude enough to take advantage of the man's hospitality. Especially after he saved his life.

::There wasnt any noticable pause. The Doctor quite simply just shrugged his shoulders and said.::

I dont know. Forgive my bluntness, I underztand zhings may have draztically changed for you but...vhat do you need in order to leave?

::The Doctor was a man of many talents and a man of many sciences, and many talents. But he didnt know everything. He really didnt know Silver from Adam...or maybe Merlin, or some other type of mage. He was willing to help but if Silver wasnt willing to talk...well. How can a Doctor heal you if you dont tell him where it hurts?

There really wasnt much else to be said. The Doctor simply stood and waited for an answer.::

After a quick yawn, Silver answered.

"In order to leave? Well, I have a ship... but its been converted into a Sage Craft. Though I have normal Sails, I am no sailor. I have been using ether sails and commanding the currents of the etherial plane to get around. The defensive cannons are all Magic Cannons and require one with sufficent Arcana to opperate... and I recomend not going below deck. Its been magically connected with an extrademensional space to make it seem larger, while actually I'm just trailing around weightless parts of another demension."

Silver scratched the back of his head, slightly embarassed.

"In fact, without magic, that boat isn't very usefull to me... though its still invaluable."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 23, 2005 8:59 pm

Little maji...you are very confuzing.

::He rubbed his forehead and his temples as his mind fumbled over Silvers strange speach. It was strange that Silvers request for help sounded nothing like a request for help but a random assortment of facts. Like the lower deck of the ship, or the cannons. The Doctor continued.::

You zay zhis ship is not useful, but yet it is invaluable. You frame your vords as if you need it...but yet ve found you in the snow not even 10 ft into zhe barrier vith no ship in sight.

::He shuck his head and pulled up a stool and took a seat and carefully removed his glasses with their many flip lenses and began shining them with a small piece of cloth he slipped from one of his lab coat pockets. While he did so, his pure green eyes met Silvers as he spoke rather straightforward.::

If I did not vant to help you, I vould have already zent you out zhe door. Zpeak boy, zpeak clearly. Tell me vhat you vant. My services are yours. But even my patience is not eternal.

"I... I'm sorry..."

Silver bowed his head. He wasn't thinking too clearly, and got a bit carried away with himself. He had a tendancy to do that occasionally, though it was unintentional.

"I'd need an engine or a motor first and formost. Something to move me across the water. And maybe a way of telling which direction I'm going."

He looked into the eyes of the doc. They had a bit in common. Although Silver pysically looked younger, he was actually quite a bit older. They both had green eyes, and they both had fields of specialty most people didn't... though on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Though Silver still had a tad bit of growing up to do. Not much, but enough.

"Something could be done with the cannons if I had the time, but its not a necessity."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 23, 2005 9:37 pm

Vell! Zhat a start.

::Apologies from a Majik are like sympathy cards, to the family of genocidal maniacs victims. It was registered, but it really didnt mean much. The Doctor stood up, patted off his knees as per usual and made his way toward the door, stopping after a few steps and waving for Silver to follow him. The Hallway outside was quite dark and quite dank, but the Doctor made no motion to explain why it was such. He simply stepped forwardand asked a question that seemed most pressing to him at the moment.::

Zo, vhere iz zhis ship? And vhy did you valk if you had a ship?

::He wouldnt wait for an answer, he planned to walk and talk. And he would lead Silver directly to and into the elevator full of cobwebs at the far end of the hall, dark moldly hallway outside the OR. And without delay once Silver had entered he would press one of the many elevator buttons and the large box would begin moving with a series of thumps instead of a series of grinds as per the usual elevator.::

Silver got up and trailed after the Doc. Matching his pace, they continued to walk as they went on with their early morning conversation.

"Well... first off my ship can only traverse sea. I was in pursuit of someone when I reached the southern coast. Its more to the west, but still quite a ways south. I should've realized that I...

Silver closed his eyes and shook his head.

"Nevermind that."

Silver looked at the condition of the hallway without much surprize, although he had expected one like the doc to keep his facility in better condition. As they got into the old elvator, he was expecting a much smoother ride than what they did. He's been on an elevator once or twice before an he enjoyed it more than walking. It was kind of like a slow fall.

Considering what he had been through last night, he was in a relativly decent mood that early morning. Though, something about the doc was bothering him...

"Um... would you mind if I asked you what might be considered a personal question?"
