*Unfortunately, nothing differentiated the two paths this time. The ice on both sides remained obstinately silent, only slender vens of silvery light flowing away in both tunnels, and the smell of stale air.
How long since the last set of adventurers came this way was unclear, as was what possible destination may lie at the end of the icy labyrinth. But, one thing WAS definiate. That beast in the last chamber was far from the last Leer would have to face before he even got to the end of this puzzle, let alone out and away*

Leer hissed quietly with the new developments, or rather the lack thereof. Watching for the pale light under the walls, he followed them with his eyes while he thought which path would be more prefferable. Nothing seemed to jump out at him about either one.

Tapping his clawed hands on one wall, he finally just decided that if he was going to pick the wrong path, he'd be better off doing it now then later, so he could double back worse come to worse.

Trailing his right hand after the silve lights deep beneath the ice, he took the path off to the right and followed along after the thin shimmers of gleaming silver beneath the dark obsidian of the wall his hand lay on.

He couldn't help but wonder if his heart had become black like the walls. Couldn't but wonder what the growing Darkness inside his body loked like now. He did not fear these things, but wonderred at them with a sick interest to help time seem shorter. He didn't wantt o think about how long this was to take, or if he'd ever be allowed exit.

*As Leer moved on, the way behind sealed over with ice, the same as last time.
Inside teh walls, between the silvery flashes of lights, figures seemed to dance and caper, flashes of both Ice and Leer himself passing every now and then as this path wound slowly downwards, turning in a spiral.

Inside the wall as he neared the end, another scene played out, showing Gally back when she had been attacked by the demon and Leer's sinatnt reaction to help her*

.. pretty girl. Prettier like this.

*The scene warped a little, until Gally's inner self when she was half demonised was shown, the same little spark of darkness showing.*

Naughty Leer.

((Scuse crap post, am ill.))

As ice sealed his path, he continued to move forward. He knew there was no point in turning back, he hadn't planned on it even if he could.
He was more distracted now by the varying images shifting through the walls. He never paused to stare at them, but they gained most his attention as he shuffled down this twisting path, one hand still brushing the right wall.

As the final scene, he stopped for he was out of room to walk, and stood to watch. He wonderred how long ago that had really been: He'd been keeping less and less track of time now that it didn't have a grip on his 'life' any more. He knew at least that it had been slightly after his Siring, knew that by the time it was over he'd been learning things, growing darker and stronger.
Kne wnow that he'd been a fool to rush in without thought of his self and try to make one person just a little happier.

He watched as that small spark of darkness danced through Gally's body. Watched the effect something so hidden and small had on her, and how right Ice was.
Leer did think her prettier like that now.
Coming back to the task at hand he thought how much trouble she'd gotten him in because of their relationship....How he wouldn't be in this mess if not for her. Then what would the mage have had to use against him?
Ice had been right again.

"You'd think I'd have been smart enough to listen to you."

Exhaling a long trail of fog form his lips, he slumped against the the wall where the image had played to take a look about him.
What made the situation worse was that he was beginning to realize he didn't love Gally like he used to any more. Like something inside him, something that had caused that initial feeling, the damned emotion, had died some time ago. That it had died and he'd just ignored it for something else.
He loved her in a cold deatatched manner now...As he'd come to see most things...For his own sake.

*Hands suddenly reached out through the ice, yanking Leer backwards into the cold depths. It was like falling forever, or maybe it was mere moments. Prehaps it was just air around him, or maybe he was drowning.

Days or minutes, the fall would end with two long arms outstretched, breaking Leer's descent, then setting him down, Ice's hooves throwing up sparks of silver light as he stepped back and folded his arms, raising one eyebrow questioningly*

Smart? Prehaps you are. What is the SMART thing to do now, childe?
PostPosted: Fri Feb 29, 2008 3:29 pm

He took to being grabbed rather shakily. At first he tried to struggle, and break the grip on his shoulders. As soon as he realized that was hopeless though, he stopped and just went along with the ride with no more then a sudden gasp as he was dragged downward.

As he fell into the open arms of his Sire, he wasn't sure if he was glad he had stopped falling, or if he'd rather have kept going. He hadn't even a clue how long he'd BEEN falling.
He watched as Ice stepped back, and gave him that typical questionning look.

Leer sat on the ground a momment, and then slowly rose, tail curled around his leg in a small sign of submission. The death masks of Corbin and Faye were held loosley in the palm of each of his hands. These rested at his chest, crossed over each other much as Ice positionned himself only without the questionning glare.

"I pledged nothing to you but my loyalty, Father. I suppose it would be best to come as clean as I can with you."

He thought back to what the Mage, Connor he believed he'd said, had told him about disobeying. Of what he'd do to Gally, that she was fragile and could die with only a word or two here and there.
And then he asked himself if he truely cared. If he was truely beyond that point, and if the Darkness in him had grown to the point he could say no with pride and conviction that he really meant.
But grown wasn't really quite the right word was it? NO. Leer was proud to be Tzimisce, to be the monster the others feared. To be the increasingly inhuman beast of a Fiend. Had the Darkness really grown, or had he nurtured it.

"You know more then I though, and I doubt you are as blind to these afairs as I had hoped. What would you have your Childe do now?"

his voice didn't sound much like anything. Just that same, usual, cutting edge of pleasantries and coldness with a tenor melody behind it. As if he'd seen this hapenning even as it had begun. He knew not the outcome, but he'd always felt Ice would find out one way or another.

*Silently, the elder Tzimisce held out his hands, palm up, towards Leer.*

Give back that which you have stolen. That would be a good start.

*There was little anger in his voice, and he would wait until Leer complied before doing anything else.
Once he had them both, his tail would dart forward and spear through LEer's shadow, which writhed, then reveled Abrasax, pinned to the ice.*

Which is more important to you Leer? What you ARE... or what you WERE?

*In truth, it was only Leer's reactions to the scenes he had been shown that had gotten him out of the labyrinth so quickly. Ice had been quite prepared to keep it up and drive his childe mad if necessary, but the need hadnt been there. Depending on Leer's answer and how thorough he was now, would depend on what Ice asked of him next*

Leer raised his hands to the height at which Ice held his out. Briefly, he looked at the details on the mask. He was either thinking it over or just admiring the worksmanship. Either way he silently placed them in Ice's open hands.

He wonderred for a momment what Ice was doing, then remeberred Abrasax had been following him the whole way. Leer took to a good, short laugh watching the Wraith writhe on the floor. He only sytopped so he could answer his Sire, but it was obvious he still found enjoyment in Abrasax's tortured movements.

"What I am now is far greater than what I ever was."

*Reverently, Ice took the two masks, stroking his long fingers over the surfaces, before sliding them behind him to be swallowed by the ice, safe in his possesion once more*

Do you know what they are? What you were messing with?

*Ice reached out and grabbed Leer's arm*

And are you willing to learn?
PostPosted: Sat Mar 01, 2008 3:53 pm

His attention was grabbed from Abrasax's pain, or whatever Wraiths go through, as suddenly as Ice had grabbed his arm.

The Childe watched as the Ice took back what he had stolen. He nodded to Ice's first posed question.

"Deathmasks, Sire."

The length of reptillian tongue between his lips played over one of his fangs as he finished speaking, cleaning a bit of blood off it from earlier.

"You know I am always willing to learn."

They are much much more. They are records, snapshots in time, memories... they are diaries of the lives of those I chose to preserve. For eternity. And now... YOUR turn.

*The crunch as Ice delberatly broke Leer's arm should be loud in the hollow area around them, and Ice's intent was to draw Leer's bone out through a gash in his wrist. This achieved, the fiend intended to create two new masks, then and there - one of Leer and one of himself. Ice's usual care and attention to detail showed through as he worked, leaving Leer to deal with his arm and heal it, until he held up the new items, dropping a drop of his own blood one one, and some of Leers on the other.
Then he held out the Ice mask to his childe*

Put it on.

*And should Leer do so... he would find his body trying to shift by itself into a perfect replica of Ice's looks while his mind would be flooded with what it was to BE Ice. In every way.*
PostPosted: Sun Mar 02, 2008 4:34 am

He was used to pain by this point. He was constantly changing himself these days, reshaping bones and flesh all the time. Most people would likely be sickened by the sound itself. He hardly even seemed to wince.

He watched what Ice did, letting his broken arm hang limp at his side. The Tzimi's eyes danced back and fourth over his SIre's hands, watching with as much detail as Ice put into the creation. Only when the mask was held out to him did he, quickly, reform his arm.
With that same arm, he took the mask in his own hands. For a momment, it looked as though he would just stare at it. Then Ice spoke.

Leer didn't even bother to nod. He obeyed. He allowed his body it's desire, letting it mold itself after Ice as he slipped the bone construct over his face. Even as his body slumped against the wall with the flooding in of Ice's being into his own he allowe his body to alter itself.
Leer's back landed against the ice of the wal. He slid down it an inch or two as what the mask held overwhelmed his own thoughts and mental state. He found his hands clawing at his face, reaching for the piece of bone there. For the mask. Then he was still, hands slowly sliding to his side as it all began to sink in.

He grinned. A grin Ice would recognize as his own.

((dunno' how well that came off, but I had to type this up early. Sadly I have to go to a funeral now, so I'm sorry if I didn't quite do this justice or something to that effect))

((You always do justice. I hope the funeral goes ok sad ))

*Ice smirked as he watched Leer obey, the faun tossing the mask of Leer up and down as he watched his mirror image look back at him and grin.
Ice didnt let it go on too long though, pulling the mask off Leer before the usual problems could set in - Ice's true image was a thing lost to posterity and thus anyone in one of his masks soon found themselves under the strain of their body trying to look several ways at once. Still, the lesson should be learned - the masks were FAR more than just death masks, and Ice had even used them to kill in the past, much to his own amusement.*

I will teach you how to make them one day, but your loyalty must be to WHAT you are before all else.

*Waving a hand over his face, he appeared as Conner, letting Abrasax go, the wraith grovelling as Ice crushed he already warping death mask of himself*

Because to be honest, testing people is too much effort. Abrasax... you are released to resume your duties.

Yes master.

((Thank you. It went as well as it could, but I feel as if two days have passed since I've been gone.))

Leer was still smirking in that odd manner as Ice pulled the mask from his face. He imagined, that if he'd had need of it, his breath would be very heavy. His body looked about seven different ways, stoping in odd phases as his own personna seeped back into him. He felt the effects more mentally than anything else though...Like a piece of Ice was permantly bound to him now...Perhaps even if he'd become a part of Ice from this.

Scenes from the mask still floated in his head as Ice became the Mage, Conner. For a momment he showed signs of anger, but then his face just melted nback into that insane smirk. He wasn't sure how, and maybe never would be, but he felt he'd come away from all this different...A lot different. The scens and even the short time in the Chasm had been part of it, but adding that to what Ice had shown him, Leer seemed a touch darker...A touch madder some might say.
But it had always been there.
Truely, he was the same, perhaps even more himself. He'd seen things. Realized things.

Leer stood, and arced his back as his bones and flesh rearranged to his own preferred form. That accomplished, he nodded to Ice, muttering something about how stupid he'd been not to see that. He bowed low and elegantly. Whether in gratitude or obediance didn't matter.
