Hi I'm Thyna
Age 35 (hey it isn't that old so blaugh )
from Ontario, Canada

I'm pretty much neutral on most religions and would rather learn about it and find the similarities than fight about the differences. I consider myself a Spiritualist. It is loosley based around the Christian belief system, but not limited to it either as it deals with various methods of Fortune telling, contacting Spirits, and past life exploration.

Hi people! I am a Christian. I used to be an Atheist. I like to learn about other religions. I once had a Wiccan friend who got beat up at school for being a Wiccan. The principal gave HER a dentention, not the people who beat her up. sad

Hey, I'm sort of wavering between being religous, and being agnostic. I would like to learn all about different religons, as I find religon very interesting, and often study it in my spare time. I first started being interested when I picked up a short book on Judaism, and it sort of progressed from there.

I would like it greatly, if you PM me with some information on your religon, as I like to see religons from the inside and the outside.

Also, I'm part of the fellowship of Uzoma, but that's not a religon really, its more of a culture. Feel free to ask me about it if you're interested anyway. ^_^

May your blessings be bountiful.

Hello my name is Margo, but you can call me Alan. A name to which has deep roots to a book and the first day of French class. (Crazy Banana comes to my TP guild, she'll understand the Alan part.)
I'm 16 going on 17 (::Sings:: You are 16 going on 17) When I was but a wee gixie I was forced to except the religion of Christianity and I never liked a moment of it. I started to get older and more questioning and ended up Atheist. When I moved to Texas my cousin gave me a book about Wicca, muttering something about me needing a religion. I read the book and the greater majority of it made sence. So I learned more and eventually became a Wiccan.
I am here to learn more about other religions. I one day hope to become an anthropologist so a greater understanding of religions can come in handy.

Hi there.
My gaian name is Raynie, but my real name is Tenby. Feel free to call me either =)
I've always had a love for religion, any one that I could get info on, I devoured.
I was raised in a Christian household, but both my parents dabbled in other religious areas. My mum was raised Catholic and although she left the Catholic church I still find many of her viewpoints to be heavily influenced by the Catholic teachings.
My dad is really Christian but also has a love for Buddhism. He's found a way to mix these two religious lifestyles together and bring about a real sense of harmony in his life.

I was Christian for many years but it was never something I was strongly serious about. My parents aren't big chruch goers so I never had a strict religious upbringing.
About 4 years ago I made the decision Christianity was no longer for me. I felt it was very restricting and minimized a lot of lifes true pleasures. I feel that while Im on this earth I want to enjoy what I want to enjoy and not feel tied down due to reasons I couldn't truly confirm I believed in.
After leaving the Christian church I found myself really lost without a faith. By chance I ended up talking to a person who changed my life. He practiced a mix between Wicca and Gnosticism and was the one who pushed me down the path I now follow.
Four years later I practice Wicca, although I do not claim myself as Wiccan. I feel that the title is only to be given after coven initiation, and since that hasn't been my experience yet Im still learning.
I'm unclear about which branch I follow and have spent almost a year now trying to find one that best suits me. Im currently studying under the Correllian Nativist Tradition but Im not sure if that will be the one I end with.

Hi

My name is David, & seeing as this is religious group I shall give you a short look at my religious history, I'll try to keep it short. I started out as a total nihilist, in the sence that for my younger years I had not realised the existance of the world or myself & thus nothing existed to me, there was no me. I snaped out of this faze around preschool, I soon began to form a notion of something beyond the world that I could see, I began calling out to whatever presence I had begun to feel, later I began to go to church & began watching science channels, my views on the world began to take form. In elementry I finally discovered that there were other beliefs, even beliefs with multiple God's, for a while I was baffled, I was never told that other beliefs were wrong but their existance was simply never discussed. I remained a mix of evolution & christianity, experiancing an orwellian double think concerning the two. Some years later I abandoned evolution for christianity, I had broken out of the double think & decided the differences in the two ment they were incompatible & I ofted for the one in which I had more trust. I snapped out of double think partly becuase I had finally made contact with the presence( a rather friehtening experiance actually), & had begun a relationship with my God.
I now follow my own form of christianity, one that leads me in a personal relationship & training under my God. I find religion, phylosophy, & myth fascinating. Given the complicated background I have had with perception & belief, I wasn't too suprised, & I think studying in these feilds could help me on the path I now take.

Ummmm, hi...You can call me Sigyn. heart

I'm 17, Christian (attending a United Methodist church, but not sure if the denomination really suits me; I'll have to explore my options in the future), and very interested in ALL religions. I'm particularly fond of the Norse mythos--as those familiar with them can already tell from my name--, but I really enjoy learning about different beliefs and gods.

Also, I believe that demons do exist, mostly because of my own personal experiences with them (I was attacked and almost possessed once, but that's all I'm saying, so don't bother me with questions... sweatdrop ).

Well, that's about it for now! biggrin

I prefer to go by my username online so you can call me Kamelliah. I've been interested in Buddhism since high school. I am 19 now and in college. I was raised a Methodist Christian but when I entered middle school I started asking a lot of questions that weren't getting answered. By the time I entered high school I had become agnostic and soon started to develope my own beliefs. About a year ago I discovered that my beliefs were very much in line with those that fall under both Pagan and Buddhist religions. In addition, through my studies of both religions I adopted more ideas from both faiths and am now a "Buddha-Pagan" as my faith incorporates both Buddhist and Pagan ideas, beliefs, philosophies, etc. I have a boyfriend of 4 1/2 months and currently work in a used bookstore. I plan on majoring in liturature and then going on to a masters in creative writting with a minor in philosophy focusing on religious studies. By being in this guild I hope to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of The numerous religions of the world.

My name is Sam but you can call me Puck.

I'm 18, almost 19, I'm Buddhist/Pagan, meaning I believe in both the religions as the ones I follow. I was raised to be Christian, but I never believed in it, I kind of thought of them as fairy stories more than religious things, when I was a kid. My dad is full blown Atheist and all that, but he didn't specifically tell me anything about religion, letting me decide for myself, but my mother would never let him near me religiously, anyway. But yeah, my father was raised Catholic, too.

Hi guys, call me Bwee. I'm 16. I was raised Christian by my grandparents, though my mom never took part in any church stuff that I can remember.

Church was always awkward for me, and I felt out-of-place there- I love church buildings, but only when I'm alone in them (because they're pretty xD). Nothing about Sunday School or church services ever felt right, and everyone there felt like a stranger to me. On top of that, I was bored and never felt a connection with God. Going to a Lutheran private school for two years was just as awkward.

There were a lot of beliefs that the majority of Christians held that I never did, and there were a lot of things I questioned. What happened to a baby that died? What about retarded people? Babies and retarded people can't accept Jesus, but they don't deserve to burn in hell. What about people who had never heard about Jesus? Why would God punish a perfectly nice person who just happened to have a different religion, but let a serial killer into heaven? Why was love considered so sacred until it was homosexual?

I drifted away from Christianity when I was about 12. I was sort of in denial for a while and kept calling myself Christian, mostly because I was scared. When I was little I'd been told way too many times that I had to go to church or I'd go to hell, etc... but I've moved on.

I drifted around the religion known as Being Completely Frickin' Lost for a couple of years, until I met a Wiccan friend who offered to show me some stuff- since then I've been studying Wicca, and I feel a connection with it I never felt with Christianity.

I'm Des (both on Gaia and real-life) and I was raised in a very religious background. I was forced into Catholocism (my dad's side) and followed that church for 5 years. Then my grandmother (my mother's side) started taking me to her church for three years, Baptist. They were both Christanity but my parent's always fought, and later seperated because of the little details. I always looked at religion as a way to bring people together but as life went on, I found that it brought people apart. In the past few years, I have decided that Catholocism is not for me. The religion didn't seem as tolerant as I was, and with the new pope, I decided that when I was 18, I would wipe my baptism from my background. So right now I'm just kinda looking for a religion to suit my morals. If anyone can help me, that would be totally rad.

I believe that people should be allowed to do what they want so long as they do not bring harm to anything living in malice.

I believe that religion shouldn't be looked at as what differences there are, but instead what the similarities are.

I do not believe that any one religion is the one and only path.

I had a theory when I was younger that all religions were right. What someone believed in, the afterlife, their God, or lack of, is what was right. Kinda stupid right? I didn't think so, and I still don't.

I do not know if I believe in a being in control of everything or not...

So, do you know any religions that I might be leaning toward? Are there any? I just want to find out more about everyone's beliefs...

Hello, m'names Terg.

For eleven years I was raised a Catholic. In my eleventh year, I experienced something that kinda kicked my in the arse and made me ask if I really believed in what I just mindlessly recited in school. So, after that, I tried several different religions.

I still went ahead with confirmation, but kept silent during parts of the confirmee's reponse so I still felt free to look amongst others ideas and systems. I don't see it as a binding, actually, to me my confirmation was a gold star from the diocese saying that I had a basic understanding of the Catholic faith.

Currently, I am a member of my own made-up faith: Barbarianism.
